19th September 2020 at 8:37 pm #166407I’d instantly make the point once again of Supporters not being at Old Trafford. Opening Game and usually the WOW Factor.

19th September 2020 at 8:51 pm #166408Completely agree Mikus. Said it last season. Fernandes papered over the cracks in the second half of the season. Fortunately for Utd, every other team who finished below us was crap, too, so we scraped into the top 4. With everyone else now strengthening, Utd have a real battle on their hands to get anywhere near top 4 this season.
Ole just isn’t good enough. The fans can go on about Woodward and the Glazers all they like. The reality is that a better manager is needed if we’re going to get the most out of these players. It’s a shame though as I like Ole, the man. He’s just not a very good manager.

19th September 2020 at 8:56 pm #166409Agree Mak. 2 poor decisions (pen and retake) in terms of common sense calls albeit both were spot on by the letter of the law. That said, almost every keeper steps off the line like that on penalties. Both harsh calls but makes little difference as anything but a Palace win would have been unjust today.

19th September 2020 at 9:15 pm #166411Brian, I think if you didnโt have many standout teams in the league, it would probably be one of the most open leagues in years given the situation with the fans. But there may still be a few surprises and Everton do look one to watch at the moment – theyโve got too good a manager for them not to do well. As someone said I think on here, no crowds do give the underdog a big advantage.

19th September 2020 at 9:29 pm #166412Not good Utd. Not sure why. Thought Maguire was poor given he is captain and England CB.
Sancho isnt the answer. Pogba didnt seem to try 100% either. Still its one game!_____________________________

19th September 2020 at 10:03 pm #166415Steve, how does this awful West Ham side come away from the Emirates with twice as many shots as the home side?! I tell you what, it’s not going to be pretty at all this season from 3rd down. City, Liverpool and Chelsea’s squads are all much stronger than the rest.

19th September 2020 at 10:06 pm #166416No idea Ed just as the team were bringing my belief back they go and revert to form! We should have had a comfortable win but hopefully itโs w blip more than a trend! I just want to improve (vastly) on last seasons place! To think our clubs used to go toe to toe for the highest honours and be feared if not respected …. those days seem along time ago ๐คฃ

19th September 2020 at 10:22 pm #166418No difference at all between the Lindelof and Gabriel handball incidents today. Neither should have been given but the lack of consistency is just ridiculous.

20th September 2020 at 7:52 am #166422AnonymousWest Ham deserved a draw at least, I did say Everton and Arsenal will also be in the running for a top 4 but its early days and they also could fall away, not enough decent depth. United rely on a couple of players so if they don’t do it they will drop more points’. It’s still a straight fight between City and Liverpool.

20th September 2020 at 8:30 am #166423Itโs such early days. You canโt be writing anyone off yet
Utd are clearly well behind in their preparations . Iโd get rid of Pogba. Use his money to get in a centre bsck. Smalling is better then lindolf . Pogba has not worked out. He wouldnโt get near the city or Liverpool teams as he doesnโt work hard enough
Arsenal won.6 from 6 perfect start.
Ed disgraceful decision for the pen… so is any handball a pen now?

20th September 2020 at 8:38 am #166425Who knows Sean. Considering Gabriel’s handball for Arsenal didn’t even go to VAR, you’d have to say no. Just so inconsistent.

20th September 2020 at 9:55 am #166427Oh they’re definitely not fit Sean. 1 pre season game in which most of the first team didn’t even play is ridiculous.
Still, very concerning how poor we were regardless.
Agree on Pogba. Ole insists on him playing a deeper role as he can pick out a pass, which he definitely can. The problem is he is so easy to press and he just loses the ball. Only way to get the best out of Pogba is to play him much further forward in a more creative role. Problem with that is that all of him, Bruno and Van de Beek play best in that position.
