14 Points and 3rd place which at the moment is fine. However, West Ham currently sitting 7th are only 3 point away. If ultimately you have an aspiration to challenge for the league, you have to be that extra better and establish Superiority.
Man City their neighbours in recent years have shown an Outstanding Example.

3rd October 2021 at 12:01 am #186069Been saying it for a long time, but putting a learner driver in charge of a lambourghini is a recipe for disaster

3rd October 2021 at 2:02 am #186071Cobwebs being shaken off at Chelsea. A fortnight break and then a pretty good run of fixtures although Brentford will be interesting. Let’s hope for no injuries during the International matches and others carrying injuries closer to a return. On the first half, if we hadn’t got the three points it would have been a travesty of justice. Multiple chances and two disallowed by VAR, the Werner headed goal disallowed due to a Dave foul which the referee would have seen and allowed play to continue. Not even the touchie gave any input at the time. How they can then go back and effectively reverse a goal on that is beyond comprehension. At 2-0 that would have been game over and probably my 4-0 tip enacted. As it was Southampton were being kept in the game 1-0 then a rusty Chilwell gives them a pen. I still reckon we would have gone on to victory without the red card however the best team won without doubt. Top of the table, a draw between Pool and City and they are chasing us up the table with multiple should win games ahead. I’m excited.

3rd October 2021 at 8:55 am #186073AnonymousNil, we might well be in the same boat after today, so it’s not as bad as it sounds and West Ham are a very decent side now.

3rd October 2021 at 9:14 am #186074That’s an interesting analogy RatyRatae, however no matter how much experience you have of driving a Morris Minor it’s not going to be much use when it comes to driving a hyper-car……….Pagan

3rd October 2021 at 12:11 pm #186077Mak I agree. The question in JK’s press conference was asked about an unbeaten run, but he wasn’t reading too much into the first few games, but instead to keep going.
It’s tight and tough. A handful of wins in succession might make the difference, but even today’s defeat if that was to happen wouldn’t be the end of the world, but in essence, we don’t want to lose points to any of the big guns.

3rd October 2021 at 3:58 pm #186079Absolutely Spuds best performance of the season, looked a lot more comfortable than the scoreline suggests, could and should have had a few more. Villains always had a punchers chance but never really looked like doing anything. Not sure if our defence “snuffed” them out, or they were just a bit rubbish. Wasn’t impressed with them at all, very much Wimbledon of old, long balls and “stick it up ’em!” approach. We all know the 21 Edition of the Mighty Spuds are there for the taking if you fancy your chances… and Villa didn’t even try…

3rd October 2021 at 4:04 pm #186080Just seen their line up – dangerous with Foden in.
Pleased with our selection – same as Wednesday. Come On The Redmen!

3rd October 2021 at 4:06 pm #186081Leicester looking a bit dodgy this season, it has to be said. They should really be challenging for 4th/5th with that team but they’re dropping silly points consistently. Poor in the EL too. Yet Rodgers still seems to get linked with big jobs.

3rd October 2021 at 5:06 pm #186083I reckon that was a foul, but I also reckon it was outside the area… Milner knew exactly what he was doing!

3rd October 2021 at 5:11 pm #186085Yeah, the Moneyzins are shading it… bit boring for the neutral, the only saving grace is it’s either this or the misses puts on “The Maid” on Netflix… so the misses thinks this is well exciting… 🙂

3rd October 2021 at 5:21 pm #186087Surprised my heart’s still in one place. We should be down by a few goals and Foden has been a menace. Milner can’t keep up that’s the reality and we’re constantly being exposed. Where’s the protection?
We’ve lost confidence and need to make changes/reinforcements.
Thank god for half-time.

3rd October 2021 at 5:21 pm #186088AnonymousMilner is having a hard time down the left and had no choice but to take the yellow already. So, won’t be able to do that in the 2nd half.
We just havent gotten a foothold in the game at all. It’s all City. I guess we can only be happy to not have conceded, which always gives us a chance but we’re not really having attacking spells at all ourselves, that’ll have to change.
