Adlab, we might lose on Wednesday Night. Arsenal are in good form at the mo.

14th March 2022 at 10:03 pm #195013I doubt it. You have someone to put the ball in the net. The one thing we lack. We score because of team build up. If that doesn’t produce sufficient chances we don’t score.

14th March 2022 at 10:04 pm #195014This could well come down to the game v Liverpool

14th March 2022 at 10:04 pm #195015Has Pep improved Grealish or has he gone backwards there? He seems to have coached the best parts of his game out of him. Not sure who’s been the biggest flop of the £100mil signings, him or Lukaku. Lukaku has scored a few big goals at least.

14th March 2022 at 10:15 pm #195016Very valid point Nine. Sterling had he come on, even late would probably have changed it.

14th March 2022 at 10:21 pm #195017No way both City & Liverpool were going to win all of their remaining games. There’ll be plenty of ups and downs over the next few months.

14th March 2022 at 10:29 pm #195018There is a little similarity to 18/19 Mikus, but I think both won something like 13 on the bounce. City can still get to a maximum of 97 points.
We can’t afford to lose when we meet them at the Ethiad otherwise it’s game over.

14th March 2022 at 11:04 pm #195019Arsenal won’t stand a chance against Liverpool. All season they have battled and competed well with teams outside the top 4 but are seriously lacking when playing the top teams.
I don’t think Pep has improved Grealish, but he certainly hasn’t gone backwards. Grealish is just learning that it’s not all about him, which when he was at Villa their entire tactics were to “give it to Grealish”. Now he just needs to learn that he’s no longer the big fish in the small pond.

14th March 2022 at 11:41 pm #195020It’s up for grabs now!😊
I think Liverpool would have won that game far too many wasted chances by City. The momentum is with Liverpool now but it still may come down to the game in the Etihad.
Another good performance by Connor Gallagher hopefully he will be part of the Chelsea team next season.

15th March 2022 at 5:45 am #195021An odd game, with a bit more quality up front I think Palace could have won that. Gallagher was good, his pressing was immense although his decision making was sometimes a little off.
But what about Pep not making any subs when clearly his plan wasn’t working? Bernardo Silva was having a shocker yet Sterling and Jesus, so often the saviour, remained on the bench. Even Gundogan would have added a goal threat as he often pops up in good positions when they really need him.
A few seasons ago this would of been seen as a solid away point but Pep and Klopp have set the bar so high now any dropped points is a dissapoinmemt. It’s likely one of City or Liverpool will get 90+ points and still come second.
One thing City seem to be lacking is leaders. A few of them seem to throw their arms about when things go wrong but none rally the team or take control.
Grealish was never going to walk in to a Pep team and perform well without changing his style. He carries the ball forward and direct, Pep doesn’t play like that. It was an odd signing and I think Pep is shoehorning other players into unfamiliar positions just to accommodate Jack.

15th March 2022 at 7:18 am #195022Mikuis, I actually did expect city to win all their games like they did 18/19
I still think we need to win all ours. Tomorrow night will show what we are really about. Huge game.
Still very much in cities hands as we have to go their and we have the tougher games.
Diaz has to start tomorrow.
In the summer, Pep said that we wouldn’t see the best of Grealish until his 2nd season

15th March 2022 at 7:35 am #195023Salah an injury doubt for tomorrow.
He has missed just 3 games for Liverpool due to injuries and only 15 in his professional career going back to his days at Basel. Crazy stats.

15th March 2022 at 10:46 am #195024Palace have improved lately and were 5 unbeaten in all competitions prior to the Man City game.
Imperatively it helps if you have fit and available key players like Gallagher, Saha, and Eduard. Good substitution too by Viera bringing on Jordan Ayew to take the sting out which for me was one of the key elements in earning a good point against a Top Team.
Thus the ‘T1000 Tag’. Relentless. But that’s only if you play into their hands by giving them back possession. I was ultra impressed by the courage to want to hold on to the ball and exercise possession. Certain players establishing authority using strength and skill which loudly spells “we’re not actually scared of you” and “we won’t allow you to bully us”. Palace deserved their draw. City increasingly over time grew of anxiousness.

15th March 2022 at 1:36 pm #195025In such circumstances City miss a bona fide striker whilst Liverpool have several.
City should have won comfortably last night but failed to take their chances.
Good effort by Palace though I thought it might be a tricky game for City.

16th March 2022 at 9:04 pm #195046In essence of the first half:
– Arsenal strong willed
– Switched on
– From our POV in frustration, a tad bit more emphasized in cancelling Liverpool outHard really to get some play going. Bit disjointed in flow and we have to try harder to try and catch the Gunners out and establish possession properly and create some actual goalscoring opportunities.

16th March 2022 at 9:10 pm #195047Too many hit & hope balls wafted up top and and too much looking for the easy option. Improvement needed.
