Oh definitely Nil. Anyone can win a cup final. As you say, their league form won’t matter much when the sides meet at Wembley.

21st April 2022 at 3:38 pm #195588Ed. Totally agree. Any cup competition is a bit of a lottery. It’s what happens on the day. I remember Wigan!

21st April 2022 at 4:04 pm #195589Nike..very true what you said on April 20 re City. The important thing was at the time of the take over our owners were looking at a number of clubs and decided the City profile fitted there plans better. If they had bought other clubs there fans would not be so critical would they? City would have plodded along in there own sweet way and somebody else would have the advantage of good business management. I am not sure anymore that we will see large overseas investors come into the British Football Leagues but you will always see Buy out companies activity, similar to the Glaziers model. Liverpool now have considerable pitch credits and I can see that being confidence to its American owners to go further with investment, plus they have a good Manager who does his job well

22nd April 2022 at 8:46 am #195592Ed. POLL Who will win the League next year…The headline is With Liverpool set to be awarded the league trophy, who do you think will win the Premier League next year?
What did I miss? Did I fall asleep watching a Burnley game or United’s attacking game at Liverpool?

22nd April 2022 at 9:15 am #195594Haha it’s an old one Adlab. As you can see, the amount of content I hoped to add to the site is significantly less than I had hoped π
As for Ten Hag, I’m seeing the opposite. Loads already writing him off, saying he isn’t PL proven etc. Utd fans very realistic on the whole and know it’s a massive gamble but it’s a small lift which gives us a tiny bit of hope in an otherwise forgettable season for us. A season which was essentially over for us weeks ago now.

22nd April 2022 at 4:56 pm #195598Conte rumoured to be in to replace Poch at PSG. Said a while ago I could see Poch going back to Spurs this summer. Could definitely see that switch happening.

22nd April 2022 at 6:36 pm #195599Darwin Nunez be a great first signing for utd. Fast, good in the air and ground, runs his balls off and scored goals. Bisoumma from Brighton. Beef up that midfield bigtime.

22nd April 2022 at 9:03 pm #195601Brian, absolutely my friend.
What I was trying to express was from my experience following the game of 30 years.
There are cycles of depreciation clubs will inevitably reach at some point of time unfortunately have to weather. The amount of success however achieved is golden and overwhelming too.
Club supporters of Man United and Liverpool because of the success experienced then somewhat feel entitled and expect expect expect.
I see that a little more differently with Manchester City fans and I think they appreciate silverware in modesty. On the whole very reasoned sets of Supporters.
Great rivalry too might I add with Liverpool
Cheers

22nd April 2022 at 10:22 pm #195603We’ll not get Nunez without CL football Sean. Wish I was wrong but he’ll go elsewhere sadly. Looks a great talent. Seems we’re after Kalvin Philips after we were priced out of a move for Rice. Not convinced by Philips. Hard worker and tidy passer but bit of a poor injury record recently. He’d improve the midfield considering we’re losing loads of bodies in there this summer but he doesn’t seem worth the kind of fee they’ll be asking. (Around Β£50-60mil apparently)

23rd April 2022 at 8:10 am #195604I think rice is good but heβs over hyped because he is English. 100m for him is absolutely ridiculous
What do you think of Bisoumma Ed. Last year of contract. Excellent player in my view

23rd April 2022 at 8:53 am #195605I like Bissouma Sean but I think we’ll stay away from him because of the allegations against him. Last thing we need with the whole Greenwood thing. Probably end up with someone like Kamara from Marseille, who I think is free this summer or Haidara from Leipzig.

23rd April 2022 at 8:55 am #195606I used to think Rice was overhyped but I really rate him now. Obviously not worth 150mil or even 100mil but I’d rather spend big on him over Bellingham, for example. Bellingham looks a great talent but you can never be sure with buying from the Bundesliga as we’ve seen with Sancho, Werner, Havertz, Keita, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan and countless others.

23rd April 2022 at 7:42 pm #195636One of my old workmates on whatsapp messaged along the lines of getting rid of the entire United 11, bar De Gea.
The reality with the way transfer windows are these days and all the other baggage that comes with contracts, it would realistically take 5 years, to ship out a player unless sold cheaply. There’s always a loan option as a gateway, but then that has to be suitable for all parties if to turn into a permanent solution.
