I know what you mean nil, but just think he ended up running into people too often today. Needed to move the ball a bit quicker. Dare I say this without sounding too picky given our recent form, but in these physical games, perhaps we could do with some physicality up top.

5th March 2022 at 8:10 pm #194704I think Salah might struggle to get the deal he wants now especially with Diaz playing like he is.

5th March 2022 at 11:06 pm #194705Very tough game. Keeping clean sheets now. Reminds me of a few years ago but still canβt see past city . Big win which ends a brilliant week

6th March 2022 at 3:23 am #194706“I thought Leicester were somewhat lucky today and didnβt deserve to win”
Agreed Adlab, but you know what, these last few months we have deserved to win many games in which we’ve had no luck and lost, sooooo

6th March 2022 at 10:57 am #194707Nine, I think going forward for the best interests of the club and the supporters, we may well not be at the position where Salah holds all the aces. I think ultimately, it would be unhealthy all round if the club were to grant him the contract he wishes.
Any game that doesn’t see Mo Salah perform to his standards then gets certified as a poor game for him which for me is harsh as some opposition on the day can be very stubborn to break down. The other thought obvious thought is the risk of injury and his age. This of course is taken into consideration.
Naturally, we want to keep him. The landscape of the front 3 in most recent times has taken a development because we have Jota and Diaz. Rather than a full blown transition which as we have witnessed with past Liverpool teams as damaging when no breakthrough with instant success is that I think Klopp is layering up and developing the younger ones so when certain players inevitably have to leave from their time being up, there is somebody there ready.
I’m sure that’s the overall vision both Jk and the Club Owvers share as Long Term.
Cheers

6th March 2022 at 11:13 am #194708Longer Salah saga goes on, less likely he will sign. I donβt think he will sign at this stage

6th March 2022 at 12:06 pm #194709A difficult game becomes even more difficult for Utd with Ronaldo, Cavani and Varane all out. A badly off form Rashford our only recognised striker. Would gladly take a point!

6th March 2022 at 2:15 pm #194712I agree with all that Nil and the signings of Jota and Diaz have been very smart moves by Liverpool and sets them up very nicely for the future.
I’m sure out of choice both the owners and Klopp want to keep Salah but given his age I’m not sure they will concede to what they believe is a request that is too rich taking everything into account.
Salah will be 30 before next season commences and there’s no guarantee 2 or 3 years down the line he will be performing to the same levels that we’ve seen from him up to now. Think Ozil and Aubameyang.
Given where Liverpool are now squad wise I’m not sure it will be as big a problem as everybody first thought it might be if a sensible compromise position can’t be agreed with Salah.

6th March 2022 at 2:36 pm #194714I think utd have improved slightly under ragnick as they donβt really lose games. They have had a favourable run of games and bigger tests to come. They should have battered Watford and have performed well in patches but their form is still so difficult to describe
They can look terrible like Brighton at home and win. They look very good like 1st half v Watford and draw!
I like ragnick. He speaks so well and is honest. Really canβt see utd doing anything today.

6th March 2022 at 3:19 pm #194717I think that’s a fair summary Sean. Rangnick has definitely steadied the ship and they’re more consistent. But will he start to feel the pressure from Arsenal now?

6th March 2022 at 3:26 pm #194718“Sky Sports pundit is normally a huge fan of the superstar – but in this instance, against Pep Guardiolaβs club who like to dominate possession, Neville feels as though Ronaldo is better served out the side anyway.
Neville said: “United over the last three or four years have been a counter-attacking team, and that will be exactly the same today I think, with Ronaldo out of the team I think they might be better off with Rashfordβs pace on the counter-attack today.”
Different perspective on the missing Ronaldo from Garry Neville he might be right?

I was convinced Cavani would pass fit. What a shame. Here’s hoping for a miracle.
