Conte going off on one again π. Literally Mourinho 2.0
Antonio Conte: "I need to talk to the club. Tottenham have to make an assessment about the club, about me. We need to find the best solution. I can't accept to keep losing. I'm sorry". βͺοΈ #THFC
"Here coaches change, but players are always the same… but results don't change". pic.twitter.com/LycgIQkv61

23rd February 2022 at 10:37 pm #194483Leeds are just terrible now aren’t they? Bielsa the myth. Keep saying it!

23rd February 2022 at 10:58 pm #194484Didn’t Conte say after the City game they were the best players he’d ever worked with?

23rd February 2022 at 11:00 pm #194485Hell of a finish from Matip. I actually think he could play as a no.10. Such a silky touch for a defender. A good dribbler too!

24th February 2022 at 1:34 am #194486I think that is harsh Ed. I do think Bielsa is overhyped, however they have had crazy injury issues all season. When they are already operating with a lean squad, expecting that workrate from the remaining players is a tough ask

24th February 2022 at 5:35 am #194487Down to 3 points now… and we havenβt the goal difference advantage like previous seasons.
Momentum definitely with Liverpool.._____________________________

24th February 2022 at 6:38 am #194488I think he’s always been overhyped Foxy. Always makes me smile when the likes of Pep and Poch speak about him as some kind of coaching Godfather because their sides almost always hammer Bielsa’s sides. Utd have torn them apart 3 times now over the last 2 seasons scoring 4,5 and 6 and we’re rubbish. They’re so naive, even without the injuries. They’re the easiest side in the league to score goals against.

24th February 2022 at 7:16 am #194489Leeds have injuries that’s true and that’s not helping them but neither is Bielsa’s gung ho tactics 56 goals conceded in 25 games says his tactics are not working.

24th February 2022 at 8:33 am #194490My God, how bad were Leeds? Sure, we were good, but we never got out of 3rd gear. Leeds will struggle to find 3 worse teams to finish above. Defensively they were a shambles and going forward they offered very little. Really poor side. But credit to their fans…they never stopped singing, but watching dross like that each week would wear you down.
As for us, well, momentum is a big thing in football, but you can lose quicker than you can gain it, so I’m not counting any chickens. But all areas of the team are on fire at the moment. Virgil seems back to his best, big Joel is THE most underrated centre half in the country, the full backs are flying, Thiago is just a dream to watch, Fab is a monster, and as for Mo…well, there aren’t words. And Diaz looks very exciting. It’s looking good at the moment, but we’ve won nothing yet!

24th February 2022 at 10:39 am #194491A serious comment without being silly.
Given the attack by a megalomaniac on Ukraine and the rhetoric about very severe sanctions, it might be seen as Abramovic being one of those very close to Putin, and as by inference those running Chelsea.
Will “unprecedented sanctions” dribble over to Chelsea._____________________________

24th February 2022 at 10:43 am #194493One of the best midweek nights I personally experienced. Everything just clicked. Definitely clicked for those placing Salah as Triple Captain on their Fantasy Team hahaha π Loads of Points π
I feel with players coming back from injury and the signing of Diaz, this is the best Selection Headache for Klopp and our depth of quality really is Special parallel to our mid to late 80s team. We don’t need to rely just on our Front 3. There is competition for places.
It’s scary that things are this good, but quite right, we’ve won nothing yet from a trophy POV and a long way to go.
Sure Manchester City still in the driving seat. The situation however was different some weeks back when it looked like we wouldn’t reach this position and the Title was already a foregone conclusion. All down to the last 12 fixtures, one of them involving the head-to-head at the Ethiad π

24th February 2022 at 12:22 pm #194494Thatβs it hightown, we have to start winning trophies β¦starting on Sunday.
Very tough game againest Chelsea and I donβt think we have beat them since tuchel came in
They were the better side in both games this season in my opinion .50/50 game and think it might go to pens

24th February 2022 at 2:26 pm #19449520 years ago to the day since I was at Cardiff for the Worthington Cup final watching The Rovers beat Spurs 2-1 to lift the trophy. Great day and great times to be a Rovers fan!

24th February 2022 at 2:48 pm #194496Adlab@10:39am: Adlab, you raised a similar question a day or so ago on the Chelsea thread and both young blue and I responded to you then. But I will amplify on what I said previously.
Who knows how and who against the Government might sanction although frankly I would be suprised if Abramovich is not on their further sanctions list however Abramovich no longer resides in the UK and due to the Government not renewing his residential visa some time ago Abramvich has been an Israeli Citizen since 2018 which is now his primary country of residence.
If the Government moves against Abramovich that might prevent him from personally investing in any Chelsea transfers this Summer but Chelsea’s main strategy on transfers for quite a while now has been primarily to sell to buy for instance the Lukaku transfer fee was entirely paid for by Chelsea player sales last Summer and wherever possible I would expect that to continue.
Additionally Chelsea have a number of high quality young players out on loan which would lessen the impact of any limitations on transfer spending like Gallagher,Broja and Gilmour etc etc and any restrictions on transfer funds would add to the likelyhood of them being included in the Chelsea squad next Summer just like the likes of Mount and James were a couple of seasons ago.
Personally I think we should all be focussed on the most important people in this crisis who are the people of Ukraine they are in my prayers.

24th February 2022 at 3:42 pm #194499So many people are routing for Abrahamovic to face sanctions, and he may well face one, and i can see they are eager to see Chelsea suffer as a result.
Let me repeat again, Chelsea Fooball Club’s plans for self suffiency dates back to 2009. So by now the club runs its self. Despite our small studium, we had been fourth in the revenues generated only behind United, City and Liverpool. We have some of the best young players who were made at Chelsea out on loan.
But Abrahmovic facing sanctions is the last thing i worry about now, however i worry for the Ukranian people who as i’m typing this are facing constant Russian bombing. It’s heart breaking to imagine the repeat of what happened 80 years ago. This situation is dangerous! And it’s not about Abrahamovic facing sanctions, that alone won’t solve the problem. The world cannot afford another conflict of 1939 -1945 kind.
My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine, at the moment Football is secondary. The primary objective is to save Ukraine and its people.π’

24th February 2022 at 3:51 pm #194500I hope for Chelsea and fans that the Government don’t see Chelsea as a target to get some political publicity,. With this lot I wouldn’t be surprised. Bozo even…and I quote…”mis-spoke ” in parliament saying Abramovic was being sanctioned.
One thing though I would ban Russia from ALL participation in any sport and yet UEFA are allowing Zenit St Petersburg to play.

24th February 2022 at 3:58 pm #194501Adlab, I’m not sure your original post on the Chelsea thread bears your claim above out.π
To a certain extent Boris was right Abramovich was declined a UK visa in 2018 which meant he couldn’t live in the UK.
More important than any of this though is the fate of the Ukrainian people.

24th February 2022 at 5:20 pm #194502I think Roman Abromavich is not our main concern right now Chelsea fan or not, rather worry about stocking up with water and non perishable food for human and pet and consumption as much as possible.

24th February 2022 at 6:55 pm #194505Just for interest, I don’t know whether you were watching the PM statement in Parliament, but one MP did ask about football. The answer given was typically vague. The PM did talk about people connected with Oligarchs. The best thing that Chelsea can do right now is to ensure no obvious Russian influence operating on a day to day basis.
Having said that football, in these circumstances, is irrelevant. Let’s all hope that the people in the Ukraine suffer as little as possible and we support them as much as possible.
Imagine what our guy Zinchenko must be feeling. A tragedy from another madman.
