How was that game, real drama, nice for Spurs though.

19th February 2022 at 7:38 pm #194389Strange isn’t it, but I just didn’t expect Conte to lose another game on the bounce. Not that I thought they’d win. But I’ll take that.

19th February 2022 at 7:51 pm #194390It’s wide open now.
We didn’t deserve it today. Always the same v Spurs. Song does us with a breakaway._____________________________

19th February 2022 at 8:18 pm #194394Still can’t see past city. Easier run in and I think today was just a minor blip

19th February 2022 at 8:19 pm #1943953 really well taken goals by Spurs. Jose would have been proud of that Spurs defensive performance.

19th February 2022 at 8:28 pm #194396Hope Accentuates and from our point of view as Liverpool, we don’t often get days like these. Nothing’s won. Years and years however “let’s hope we get a favour” “let’s hope they slip up”.
Rare day but personally, it fills me with joy and happiness. What could have been is that Norwich winning at Anfield with us hitting a barn door and Man City putting away 6. There must be a little something in the Air or even fate that’s prevailed in the way results have shaped today.
Only real Grrr on Anthony Taylor, but I’ll shelve that for another moment.
Right Now, it’s being Thankful – To Tottenham Hotspur Especially 🙂 🙂 🙂

19th February 2022 at 8:41 pm #194397Sean, I can see a Parallel mate in what we did today versus Norwich side-by-side to Manchester City uncharacteristically losing the way they did. I wouldn’t have expected that at the Ethiad. I had however a nervous feeling going into the second half for our game. Maybe Manchester City fans would share their own perspective that may be different to what we feel.

19th February 2022 at 9:03 pm #194398I’ll be honest Mikus. I really thought they were going to lose their 4th straight game today. They’ve been awful in the big games under Conte. They weren’t great today either but they did what they needed to do. Not good for the top 4 challengers. Great for the neutral though, both regarding the title race and the top 4 race.

19th February 2022 at 9:10 pm #194399Ruben Dias looked very suspect today. Poor performance from him.

19th February 2022 at 9:19 pm #194400Conte could not accept another defeat today, if anything for his own reputation than the pressure from Spurs. As Souness said afterwards though, he can’t really continue to play that way at Spurs, particularly at home.

20th February 2022 at 6:09 am #194402Surely Ederson could have at least made an attempt to save Kane’s soft header? The goalkeeping in the whole of the EPL leaves much to be desired, yes the keepers all appear to be good if not excellent shot stoppers but there’s more to keeping than that and it’s not very visible amongst all of them.

20th February 2022 at 6:56 am #194403Why does the 4th official look gutted about City conceding the last one here? 😄

20th February 2022 at 7:43 am #194404The thing is Liverpool and city give you a chance because of the way they play. Liverpool concede at least two huge opportunities per game as we push so high.
Only saw the highlights but Kane looked amazing. Some great play.
Still strongly fancy city to win the league.
Thiago becoming a very important player for us now and has been excellent this season when fit but no doubt he will miss another few soon_____________________________

20th February 2022 at 9:19 am #194405City should still win it relatively easy but it’s good Spurs won just for a bit of competition and excitement for the title. The fight for CL 3rd and 4th place is much more intriguing and competitive. And even the Europa places too.

20th February 2022 at 10:05 am #194407They probably may hold on to their lead and win the league, but for now, it certainly makes things interesting and not boring. As I mentioned yesterday, it was rare for this to happen bring out football to be the beautiful game plus the way Liverpool turned it on in the second half.
Anthony Taylor’s a “Jobsworth”. But the game dramatically went in Spurs’ favour. Definitely something in the air.
One thing’s for sure, anything can happen, you just never know.

20th February 2022 at 11:10 am #194408I don’t like Anthony Taylor as a Referee Nil but I can’t see what he did so wrong yesterday.

20th February 2022 at 11:11 am #194409Kane was a sensational difference. His whole attitude, energy and his style as a center forward. Instead of staying at the top all the time where he could be easily marked and being reliant on service, he was making things happen being proactive by playing deep.
Again, he didn’t stay there all the time because of his strive to run forward to meet the pass or cross; something City struggled with. Son was instrumental. I feel Spurs are short of 3 Top Quality Players to layer on the first 11 to make them a more stronger Team.

20th February 2022 at 11:17 am #194411City try and settle and pronounce themselves on one third of the pitch, but then bring themselves closer and closer to the opposition’s box putting in balls in very dangerous areas and they try and get a goal close range. This isn’t anything new in style to be fair.
Risk showed yesterday. I don’t think it’s solely Spurs, but other teams visiting the Ethiad if they are able to defend with precision and thwart City and punish them at the other end of the pitch on the counter.
