Two!!!!
On a much more mundane matter. This will be 10 games played and we have 6 away. Just don’t see why that should be?
After 10 games you’d think it would be 5 and 5_____________________________

29th October 2023 at 5:02 pm #210377That was one golden opportunity for Rashford. He should be firing that in the back of the net.

29th October 2023 at 5:06 pm #210378I think this Garnacho is a very effective player coming off the bench

29th October 2023 at 5:13 pm #210380You kinda feel sorry for them even though they are our arch rivals.
Some fans heading for the exit.

29th October 2023 at 5:25 pm #210382Anthony has background stuff going on and it’s showing on the pitch. Not the right substitution imo.

29th October 2023 at 5:30 pm #210384Men against Boys and Bruno still find his verbals to the Ref. Discipline lost. Feel for Ten Hag. 5 0 lost 5.

29th October 2023 at 5:36 pm #210385So, so easy. I almost felt embarrassed for United (only almost).
ETH hasn’t got a clue how to deal with us (not the only manager I hasten to add). There were far too big a gap between United’s back four, MF 3 and front 3, leaving City to basically do what they wanted.
If it hadn’t been for Onana, it could easily have been another cricket score._____________________________

29th October 2023 at 5:54 pm #210387Casemiro definitely missed today. McTominay needs a link up player. Martial came on too late. United did have spells here and there, but have to take their opportunities, especially in these type of matches.

29th October 2023 at 6:03 pm #210388Who would have thought United had a chance considering the amount of injuries they have got to key players, up against a side who starting 11 cost over ยฃ200m more and who have referees on their owners payroll.
Remember when Rodri was out suspended and people said how badly City missed him. United have a whole back lineup, a DM out injured.
Does not excuse the poor display. But the manager cannot polish a turd.

29th October 2023 at 6:16 pm #210389Ref on UEA Payroll CM. That’s the sort of comment I’d come up with and then get slaughtered especially by Sean.
Truth is United have spent big and must be questioned. Varane was on the bench?
I would question the United subs with 5 minutes to go?
Mason Mount. Big fee. Not doing it. I bet in the corridors of power questions are being asked of the manager.
Still it’s all cyclical. United will come again and when Pep leaves we wont be the power._____________________________

29th October 2023 at 6:32 pm #210390Heard on 606 earlier under SAF, United had lost at Old Trafford 34 home league matches in the 26 years he was in charge. Since he left back in 2013, that record has been matched.
And also, let’s not kid our selves with this back 4 compared to a back 4 and keeper of VDS, Neville, Rio, Vidic and Evra, this lot would 100% would contain Grealish and Haaland. Onana bless the guy prevented a humiliation.

29th October 2023 at 6:33 pm #210391Utd looked completely devoid of ideas and the the midfield and defence just looked lost. It’s clear Onana is being told to go long, simply because the defence,in the absence of the likes of Shaw and Martinez, completely lack the ability to get a foot on the ball and progress the ball despite being pressed. So we were just giving them the ball back time and time again, making it easy for them. I do have some doubts about Ten Hag bit now is not the time for a reset, for me.
When I think back to how bad Liverpool were when they had their injury problems in defence and how they kept faith with Klopp despite calls for his head, I think we have to take inspiration from that and let Ten Hag continue the job he’s started. No idea who we’d turn to anyway if Ten Hag did go. There’s no obvious alternative and, with the potential of a new structure coming in under Ratcliffe’s leadership, it would be pointless making a change now before all that is in place. It’s a mess, as has been the case since Ferguson departed, but we must resist the temptation to push the panic button for now.
Congrats to the City lads, enjoy.

29th October 2023 at 6:43 pm #210393Very good post Ed.
I do think ETH got it so wrong today. As I mentioned earlier, one thing you have to do to stand any chance against us is keep the gaps between back four, MF three and front three, tight (max of 20 yards), otherwise we will just play through you at ease, which is basically what happened, certainly in the second half._____________________________

29th October 2023 at 6:48 pm #210394Gjblues, it hasn’t been massively covered in the media so understand if you haven’t seen it but it’s very strange when you read into it. I don’t think today was a controversy per se but it does need looking into.
Manchester City. Less well known is that the UAE Football Association has held talks with City Football Group chief executive Ferran Soriano about a โframework of joint cooperationโ and that the UAE Pro Leagueโs main sponsor is the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), whose board members include City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak.
In that context, allowing a group of PGMOL officials to fly to the UAE last week to take charge of a match between Sharjah and Al-Ain โ Oliver as referee, Stuart Burt and Cook as assistants, England as VAR โ looks inadvisable in the extreme. Not because of doubts about integrity among the officials or the authorities in the UAE, but because having referees on the payroll of another league, with close links to the ownership of Premier League clubs, inevitably brings an extra level of scrutiny that match officials really could do without.
