Utd were lucky tonight though. Should have definitely had a pen given for West Brom. Ole somehow lives to fight another day. Awful performance again against a poor side.

21st November 2020 at 10:11 pm #170580Absolutely mental that Guardiola has spent over £420mil on City’s defence and they’re arguably as weak at the back as when he arrived

21st November 2020 at 10:16 pm #170581I’m so confused as to what to think re Spurs being potential title challengers. On the one hand, it’s Mourinho, IMO the most obsessed winner in the game. On the other, it’s Spurs, the biggest bottlers in the game (sorry Spurs fans!). They have no right to be up there, considering the amount of money spent by the sides they’re competing against. Mourinho has form for overachieving though, so you wouldn’t bet against him doing something special with Spurs.

21st November 2020 at 10:21 pm #170582Ed, Lol, we’ll all have to go to Sleep on that one, and Wake Up on Sunday with a Nice Clear Head, and Kelloggs Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes, Crunchy Nut or Coco Pops 😀 🙂

21st November 2020 at 10:22 pm #170583Ed, given City spend twice the time in opposition 3rd as utd you would expect City to have double the pens right? Now I pulled that out of my ass but you get what I mean 🙂

21st November 2020 at 10:25 pm #170584Ed, jose suits underdog teams, porto and inter in champs league were his greatest achievements, I think they are contenders but injuries will be decisive this season.

21st November 2020 at 10:27 pm #170585Ed, did you notice how utd rose sharply in that chart as VAR was Introduced? You are proving the conspiracy Theories!

21st November 2020 at 10:36 pm #170587😅 Wish that were the case Lucky. We’ve had some dreadful VAR decisions this season. Lindelof penalty in the first game. Martial getting sent off for tickling Lamela, who collapsed in a heap, to name the worst ones.

21st November 2020 at 10:38 pm #170588Lucky, I think they’ll (Spurs) ultimately fall away as injuries take their toll. Thy don’t have a big enough squad imo. Just to be in the mix shows what a top manager Mourinho still is, when he gets the players on side.

Yes and no. It’s not so much about how long you spend inthe box. Leicester held the record for the most penalties in a season until Utd broke it last season (by 1). Leicester were (and Utd are, under Ole) very much counter attacking sides with quick attackers which is much more likely to draw fouls than having lots of the ball in the final third against deep lying defences.

22nd November 2020 at 7:46 am #170594AnonymousProbably able to draw comparison to when Jose was at Chelsea the first time, runners up into champions. Spurs, like Chelsea perennial underachievers who couldn’t maintain a title challenge… When you have scorers like Kanne and Son, anything is possible ed. I think they’ll taper off at some stage but Jose is a winner with a ruthless streak.
Honest question to the city lads here. Have you gone backwards under pep?

22nd November 2020 at 8:35 am #170595Any team at the top of the League after 9 games are potentially title contenders add in the fact that Mourinho has been a serial winner all his career and that gives more creedence to Spurs being a contender.
Mourinho has previously been dismissed as yesterday’s man a Coach who had had his day and tactically out of date but how tactically astute his side were yesterday seemingly suggests otherwise and then there’s Harry Kane reveling in his deeper role.
We will probably need to go much further into the fixtures to find out who the real title contenders are but I wouldn’t write anyone off just yet and certainly not Spurs.
I have a feeling that this season it’s going to be a much closer race for the title which is likely to involve more than just Liverpool and City who currently are in search of their mojo.

22nd November 2020 at 8:40 am #170596Moos, did you feel like giving up on the game when Chelsea got a penalty against Rennes and they went down to 10 men which ruined the match, for this joke of a handball?
This poor guy #Dalbert gets the ball first on his knee and then on his hand. A penalty is harsh, but a second yellow and thus red is absolutely madness. This can’t continue @UEFAcom !! #Chelsea #chelsearennes #UCL #staderennais pic.twitter.com/oJiRJ62YcB

Every single side has been on the good and bad side of VAR decisions since it came in. The sooner it’s resolved the better.

22nd November 2020 at 8:59 am #170600Nine but those are the same tactics jose has used for years now. Pro shoujd have known what was coming a million miles away as jose only plays one way againest the big teans. City were in huge trouble when they went a goal behind so early as spurs got ten men behind the ball. The wide players pushed back to become full backs abd the full backs pushed in beside the centre backs to go to a back 6.
That tactic is going on years and pep shoujd be going mad himself as it’s happened to him numerous times againest jose
I wrote jose off. He’s proving me wrong so far but let’s see were spurs are on the 2nd of jan
I thought spurs were excellent. They broke really well and fast. Kane had been dropping back into that little pocket for ganes now and it shoujd have been noted by pep. Really poor from him yday
The two centre backs were made a show of
