Adlab, you need to have many talents to make it in sport, obviously there’s the physical side, then you have coordination, special awareness, the ability to learn, self discipline, work ethic, drive, self belief, resilience to name but a few. If you have some of these and you play football as a young kid you will get spotted, if you have all the above and more you may make it, however you also have to have very dedicated parents…..Pagan

21st November 2020 at 4:51 pm #170492AnonymousKonsa has done well but Villa still have to improve defensively. if they are to be a proper side. They were great at creating chances in the 1st half and have managed a few this half also but their finishing is rushed. Its odd really because they are shooting like a team who doesnt know where their next chance is coming from… but they get enough to not have this mindset. Maybe it’ll take time.
They really should have won this though.

21st November 2020 at 4:57 pm #170498Anonymouseven though grealish is in my FPL team, Im glad the ref over-turned it. There was contact buit it had no impact on anything. the player was only looking to throw himself down and should have been sent off for simulation. Ya I know its a yellow for it but they should change it to a red.

21st November 2020 at 5:02 pm #170499Controversy at Villa Park with Michael Oliver overturning his original decision to give Villa a penalty. That’s 3 home defeats on the bounce for Villa following on from their defeat of Liverpool.

21st November 2020 at 5:09 pm #170500Mak, name a team that doesn’t have players that get a slight touch and fall to the ground in agony.
It’s a shameful trait, and unfortunately they get rewarded for it, VAR was meant to sort it out, unfortunately it’s made it worse as it not consistent…..Pagan

21st November 2020 at 5:25 pm #170501AnonymousWhy does it always come around to this “everyone does it” excuse? there definitely are players or even just situations where players will not be this dramatic. Salah dives or makes the most of it sometimes but he’ll often stay on his feet and fight for it. it is situational but what does it matter? in this situation the player only had eyes on winning a penalty.
it’s the manner of it though often. I mean, if there is meaningful contradict and a player has had his chance taken from him, if he throws himself down, I get it, it’s to draw the ref into a decision and often the right one. This time, the contact made absolutely no meaningful difference to his “chances” if you’ll call them that. He went down like he was shot though and stayed down for so long, rolling around .. i don’t care that others do it in this moment, I look at that and just think “play the game, stop gaming the rules”.

21st November 2020 at 5:32 pm #170502Mak, they’re trained and encouraged to do it, currently the rewards for it outweigh the punishment if you get caught…..Pagan

21st November 2020 at 5:38 pm #170503Son is one of my favourite opposition players but that was a really poor goal for City to concede.

21st November 2020 at 5:47 pm #170504Sadly we all have players who often go down like they’ve been shot with minimal or no contact some on a regular basis.
It will only change imo if it becomes an offence to do so and bans are administered for doing so. It’s cheating plain and simple but players will continue to do so if all they get is a yellow card and the benefits of being awarded a penalty far outweighs picking up a yellow card.

Goal rightly disallowed for City there anyway.

21st November 2020 at 6:22 pm #170511We seem to have lost our scoring boots. We are far the better team and losing 1-0. Previous seasons we would be two or three ahead but we are not. My own view is that we miss David Silva more than one would have thought.

21st November 2020 at 6:24 pm #170512Great game this, spurs as good defensively as City are offensively, agree with nine only a poor goal separating things.
Spurs could get another on break as City are vulnerable, but I have seen many points lost by Jose teams that sit back on 1 goal leads and wouldnt be surprised if City level things.

21st November 2020 at 6:25 pm #170513It’s not pretty but it’s another Jose defensive masterclass.
It’s going to be tough for City to break it down but they have several solutions to help do that on the bench but City have to be very careful they don’t get caught on the break.
City completing dominating everything bar goals scored.
