Hope Chelsea don’t regret those easy chances they missed. Werner and Abraham must do better.

21st November 2020 at 3:03 pm #170478Quality run and assist from Werner. He always contributes.
Should have been more but this was a tricky game right after the international break with all the players returning from all over the world most only getting back on Thursday afternoon and then off again on Friday for a long trip to Newcastle with a 12:30 ko. Plus Newcastle retained all but a couple of their player at the training ground during the break which gave them two weeks to prepare for todays game.
All the Chelsea players were a level down today imo down to most of the above which was probably understandable.
Silva, Pulasic and Harvertz still to come back in.😊
Hopefully Chelsea can improve on last season’s position and finish a bit closer to both City and Liverpool.🤞

21st November 2020 at 3:36 pm #170482AnonymousSometimes I wonder how most of these players get to play professionally, is it a case of being in the right place at the right opportunistic time? Life just don’t seem fair.

21st November 2020 at 3:47 pm #170484AnonymousI guess it starts with playing and getting good instruction from a young age. The rest is down to genes, luck and personal development of mental traits like determination, drive etc etc. Other environment factors though that dont take a person away from the sport as they grow up though. There are loads of variables man, luck is definitely a huge one too but it’s not the dominant factor, not even close 😛

21st November 2020 at 3:49 pm #170486AnonymousSeriously though, it’s amazing how Villa havent scored. Watkins really should have scored 2 goals by now. He’s so raw.

21st November 2020 at 4:33 pm #170487Just to add to Moos’s point. I have often wondered how many young men have the talent to play at the top but dont get the opportunity for whatever reason. Its a bit like the unknown singers who go on these talent shows and go on to make millions. How many footballers and other talents do we miss?

21st November 2020 at 4:46 pm #170489Our youngest is in the County Academy and it’s packed full of really good quality young players who are very well Coached. they are all regularly assessed face to face together with a parent and no punches are pulled whether they be positive or negative.
After the assessment they can be either dropped down promoted or potentially dropped out of the Academy alltogether and it’s even more brutal in the Bristol City Academy for instance etc. Commitment and mental strength are major attributes alongside skill.

21st November 2020 at 4:46 pm #170490AnonymousMy dad knew a taxi driver who i think was a youngster at Utd or Leeds or whatever with Roy Keane years ago (cant remember the details) but he had to stop because of a heart defect.
