20th November 2020 at 8:46 pm #170441Hard not to indulge, but forever fond of 18/19 and I’ll always feel Proud. For 1 minute on the last day, our name was on the Trophy; Brighton had taken the lead at the Amex, whilst Liverpool were already a goal up against Wolves.
The Equalizer Genuinely summed up Manchester City along with Vincent Kompany against Leicester True Class.
Pep’s Team played some really entertaining football and notably when they had more of Aguero; still remember that game V Burnley at Turf Moor.
True Champions and like a Roger Federer.
It’s why Liverpool had to have had that season the way they did to have ever stand a chance in fulfilling their Dream.

21st November 2020 at 8:29 am #170445AnonymousA Youtuber that I watch here or there is now sponsored by Boylesports and yes, it is definitely already affecting his content in what I think is a negative manner but look, I actually think these odds are pretty good, so I’m giving ye all his link for 7/1 on Jota to score first : http://squeez.biz/48399
To me it sounds like a good bet, so I’ve thrown a 10er on it.
Now, getting away from the seedy side of things, Klopp has said some kinda interesting things and reading between the lines, it looks like we will sign someone in January. Now, knowing the way he does business, I’d be inclined to think that he’ll get some real quality in. It’s probably more down to FSG/Edward’s strategies but for whatever reason they rarely seem to sign squad players, in that they try to improve the first team with almost every deal and then let the chips fall as they may and you have to admit, it’s not a bad way to do business. So ya, January can’t come soon enough really but until then we’ve got Leicester to deal with 😛
Good news is that Fabinho and Thiago are essentially back but this game will likely have come too soon for Thiago, who was not seen to take part in training yesterday. No need to rush him either as we’ve got an incredible run of games now that the internationals are out of the way (UNTIL MARCH TOO WOO!!!). Great to hear about Robbo but you know what? I hope that Klopp starts Tsimikas in the CL then as he’ll need a rest when it can be done.
We’re going to need a great performance from Matip if we’re to hope for a result on Sunday and hopefully no more injuries.
As for the rest of the PL, some really good fixtures in there and I may watch a few of these matches. Chelsea are going to destroy Newcastle. A nice early fixture there. Sky are really pushing this narrative that Spurs are going to beat “declining” City but they are of course writing their content around their betting odds, which is just… unpleasant. Ya Spurs have a good chance but no bloody way am I getting on this “declining” train. If Liverpool had to play either team next, I’d pick Spurs, instantly.
Delighted to have the football back and as supporters, we’ve got one hell of a run of games now, the most we’ve ever seen as fans in fact, coming in the next few months. Let’s hope we’re all able to keep the injuries down and if we can do that, it may be really enjoyable for all.

21st November 2020 at 8:47 am #170446AnonymousNil and Sean, ya that Kompany goal absolutely crushed me but I remember just feeling “TYPICAL!”, you know what I mean? They were really struggling, the anxiety was showing in their play and then a CB fecking Gerrard’s it. Just like “why did I hope, we knew this was going to happen” kinda thing. it was a fantastic season though, with a great finale from both sides. They really pushed eachother all the way then and it’s a shame they both couldn’t win because they were 2 truly brilliant teams coming along at the same time. I’m just glad as a Liverpool supporter that we managed to win a PL title and of course the CL.. Sean, the ups and downs alright man! I’d actually forgotten that they were so close together, wow. As a football fan though, I am pleased that they both won something. It wouldn’t be right for either side to not win major trophies.
You lads remember the build up to the Barca game? I had spent time telling you all not to get your hopes up, that we were out. Sean, I believe you had said there was a chance, my memory isnt good but that’s how I remember it, right or wrong. it could have been someone else on here, or several others maybe. Anyway, I didnt want to believe it as it just seems beyond even Istanbul and I nearly said “and it was” but before you agree, take another look at that Milan 11… holy hell what a dreamteam that was. Kaka in his prime too. That through ball… anyway, I digress!

21st November 2020 at 9:23 am #170448I thought if we scored early v Barca then we had a chance with our home fans mak mate.
One thing klopp has massively improved is the home crowd. Nearly all the time anfield is absolutely hopping. It really spurs the team on

21st November 2020 at 9:31 am #170450Yeah Mak, get what you mean re Kompany. I like the Guy though and a great Pro and servant to City. I never thought in my mind it was a tall order and I’m still proud how far we pushed them. I think it was like 13 or so matches in succession.
I didn’t also feel we had ran out of steam or anything. There was just this aura about us that we were going to find come out with 3 points. It’s a great shame we didn’t get anything for it apart from the obvious Runners Up spot, but winning the Champions League in the year was Incredible and I knew once we beat Barca, that was it.
🙂

21st November 2020 at 9:33 am #170451The way I’m seeing it, we didn’t have this level of quality and competitiveness in the 1990s and didn’t really push Man United hard enough when we did challenge for the League – you just knew deep down, we’d always turn out to be the Bridesmaids.

21st November 2020 at 9:55 am #170453Sean, looking back, Pep really made City play some brilliant high pressing football. I liked watching Mahrez. Silva (Benardo) was dangerous, but when they had a fit Aguero, he was the Main Man.

21st November 2020 at 9:56 am #170454Yeah, that probably won’t happen Sean, this season. Teams are taking points off each other already. I’d say around the 85 point mark should be enough to win it this season for any team.

21st November 2020 at 10:30 am #170455Newcastle are a funny side. They look absolutely dreadful at times with no real imagination going firearm
Think Chelsea will beat them easily
Newcastle are picking up points but they are the poorest side I’ve seen this season
Great day of football on lads which is great as pudding rain over here

21st November 2020 at 10:58 am #170456Chelsea don’t have a good record at Newcastle and with all the injuries, viruses and flying around they are at a distinct disadvantage, Lampard also is not really a manager who rotates too much so I think it can go anyway with a bit of luck to favor the winners or a draw.

21st November 2020 at 11:16 am #170458Blaze sure anything can happen mate but have you seen Newcastle play tvis season?
They really are poor. They can’t string 5 passes together. Chelsea will still have a strong team out
They really will need to have an off today for Newcastle to get anything
I like Bruce but Newcastle look so devoid of ideas going forward.they really are bad
