Gi Blues, a valid point raised on MS. There were players of theirs taking more bookings and you’re right in context of our important players that already were forced off with injuries.
Apart from the Ronaldo moment, we didn’t really take our foot off the pedal and maybe, the aura (once we sensed the points effectively were in the bag) was to make a statement.
Did you sense any similarities mate of this against the 6-1? The players too that day just kept on going such as David Silva and Edin Djeko.

24th October 2021 at 7:58 pm #187248Stronger leadership at the club would have moved Pogba on long ago. Like Ronaldo, these players are using the club as opposed to the other way round. Theyβre Real Madrid players really.

24th October 2021 at 8:02 pm #187250I hope that’s just because of a lot of silly people placing bets Ed rather than him being in genuine contention π

24th October 2021 at 8:07 pm #187251Probably have Carrick caretaker for few games then he wins 8 out of 10, gets a 3 year deal and you go through the same shit as with ole! π€
I know you don’t want conte (utd fans in general) but I hope you don’t get him either for complete opposite reasons.

24th October 2021 at 8:09 pm #187253Going to take more than getting rid of Ole to sort this situation out whoever comes in will bring their own team of Coaches in with them and there’s a lot of sorting out to be done in the squad too imo even Ronaldo may not survive the sorting out.

24th October 2021 at 8:26 pm #187254I think Utd have to abandon playing this obsession with playing the “United way.” Liverpool had to adapt to what was available at the time and Houllier brought great stability with him as well as winning several trophies again, even if the football wasn’t always pretty to watch. But Fergie’s legacy continues to linger strongly at the club.

24th October 2021 at 9:23 pm #187259Mak…I think the team on the field has to take a big share of the result after all, it is a very expensive squad , I am not sure of the facts but maybe more than Liverpool team, at least not much different. The Manager will always be the fall guy but at some clubs I just wonder just how much say they have.

24th October 2021 at 9:31 pm #187260Nil, the similarities between the City and Liverpool games with Utd are wide. In the City game Utd tried to play football up to the 4/5 goal even though they played with 10, longer than Utd of to day. The difference between the teams in the City game was down to City midfield of Yaya and Silva. Hart had few shots during the game to bother him but Utd had a lot of possession for most of the match. From what I have heard of the Liverpool game, Utd never got to grips with Liverpools game plan. City were clinical just like Liverpool though

24th October 2021 at 9:34 pm #187261Nil…I actually picked Silva just ahead of Rooney as MotM, thought Rooney was brilliant throughout and never stopped trying but Silva, as we know, is on another planet

24th October 2021 at 9:37 pm #187262Brian, the manager picks the 11, the manager decides whether to press high, at half way or whether to drop deep as soon as ball is lost.
The manager decided to play 4 players who aren’t good at pressing high and combine that with instructions to press high.
The manager was the one who asked them to play at a high tempo and as direct as possible, not to try to control the game, which inevitably leads to turnovers.
The manager picked 3 strikers and only one player able to create a chance.
The manager decided to only play 2 players outside of back 4 that would actually try to defend, and as those two players were mctominay and Fred, the manager was the one that allowed pool the curtesy of being able to play through his team like a hot knife through butter.
The manager is the one who has set them up like this since ronaldo signed and has ignored all warning signs against weaker sides of how open utd are playing this way, and that against half decent sides it would be suicidal.
Give a chef the most expensive ingredients in the world and he served you crap do you blame the carrots?

24th October 2021 at 9:51 pm #187263Brian, that Manchester City Team was Outstanding; 23-10-11 – 10 Years 1 day. Ferguson Mantle Dismantled under Roberto Mancini. Fabulous and the common ground was just playing football whether pressing forward or capitalizing on counter-attack.

That deserves to be turned into a viral joke that!
How about:
“I watched one of those spoof porn films last night, you know the ones where they take a famous movie and turn it into a porn film and the lead actress gets f#cked over time and time again.
It was called When Harry Met Salah”_____________________________

24th October 2021 at 11:57 pm #187267AnonymousYa Ed, Zidane is the man to go for. Utd have an incredible array of attacking talent, which would blend better with him than Conte.
I disagree with you though, I think Ole is done. Maybe it’ll take them some time to sort out their candidates and arrange a deal, but I think they will finally know for 100% certainty that Ole isnt the man for them.
If you look at Utd a few years ago, they were a poisoned chalice but, after several really good transfer windows, you’d have to admit that any decent manager would love to get his hands on them. They are all potential and no ability. That’s what managers would love.
Honestly, were Klopp just leaving Dortmund now, I think he’d very very seriously consider Utd. As you will all likely know, he turned them down before but things have changed since then. Utd will get someone big in soon.

24th October 2021 at 11:58 pm #187268Anonymousgjblues, i get you and ya, as Nil said, it’s a valid point for sure. I doubt it was so much an oversight by Klopp but more a gut decision to keep him on. Utd were getting very rough alright though.

25th October 2021 at 7:34 am #187270“The problems extend beyond the manager. Some bright spark – Ed Woodward – decided it was sensible to furnish Solskjaer with a new three-year contract in July. That decision has predictably aged terribly – but quicker than most would have imagined.
There is not so much a smoking gun as a bonfire of smoke to demand change. Tottenham are above United in the Premier League table with a coach their hierarchy initially resisted appointing. Scouse schadenfreude may be the death knell.
United’s intended championship challenge is over without starting and Solskjaer cannot be the only one who has to go. Woodward is still serving out his notice as executive vice-chairman and his contract needs terminating before he can be allowed to make another mistake. Richard Arnold cannot be the kingmaker. Solskjaer’s coaching coterie are out of their depth.” MEN 24/10
