I personally don’t understand objections. How would it be unfair on hinder other teams? If anything, there’s more protection in terms of how much a player is used.
There’s no greater numerical advantage. The contingency in place would be from a 25 man squad to be able to upskill players so that they have the ability to play in other playing positions and be an as and when needed.
From our perspective, we had players already on the sidelines and on top of the, we take a hit with Van Dijk and Thiago. I would add in the same breath, that Klopp should really have signed a center-half or now, place more into Nathanial Phillips.
I don’t want players mollycoddled, but they do need their rest and recovery time given the amount of games they are involved in over a period of time.

10th November 2020 at 9:06 pm #170054The only objection would be on the lines of…..City could bring on.. Bernardo, Mahrez, Stones Gundogan, Foden etc etc. All good internationals. Who would Sheffield, WBA, Fulham etc bring on?
That I believe is the objection. We could replace half the team with top internationals. Same for just about all the top six._____________________________

10th November 2020 at 9:12 pm #170055AnonymousLads and lasses – sorry.. got to drop this again and laugh my ass off. sorry to the Sheffield player but my god, he wasnโt even done here. More just donโt bother turning up to life. I canโt stop laughing, this is outrageous. Stuff him onto your fantasy football team because ziyech on the few games heโs started is not from planet football. Hope to god heโs protected by referees. This is criminal entertainment.

They’d bring on someone who was a little step down to what they already had, just as City would do. Anyone off the bench is a step down and it’s significant for every team.
Pagan lost his rag earlier because I suggested that I was tired of seeing our players injured and he comes out with this precious crap about “oh they win a title and they are a big team”.. Liverpool were always a big team and your bitterness is pathetic.
How many people here think that my opinion rested upon Liverpool winning the title last season? Nobody? Just pathetic bitterness.
Due care of the p[layers does not rest on the clubs, only someone who’s opinion actually rested upon another persons use of wording would think that.. and yes Pagan, you admitted that you formed your opinion based entirely upon my own, so thanks for that.
Getting back into a non precious reality though, you have a league of 20. The top 6 are not under any risk of relegation but the remainder are. There are few clubs whoa re challenging them and outside of those, you have teams who are at risk of relegation within any bad season. These teams out-number the ones who have made the PL the best league in the world, if you want to argue this with me, then feel free but do so without choking yourself out with your nickers, this time.
Liverpool didn’t need to win the PL for me to form this opinion but if you want to just get bitter about a single PL title victory then I guess that’s up to you.
Who does this clown even support? I mean he’s like a less racist version of moos.

11th November 2020 at 7:20 am #170058Mak, it would seem only one person has lost his rag, you really do do need to calm down.
Your arrogance of wanting to put the little clubs in their place was what made me write my comments…..Pagan

11th November 2020 at 8:05 am #170059442, zyiech looks quality mate.
Favourite opposing player to watch tvis season is grealish
I think we need to give it a few more weeks to see how Chelsea really are going to get on. They have had a nice run of fixtures recently. Is their tactics going to be try shut up ship againest the so called bigger sides like they did Liverpool and utd?
They have an excellent squad. Iโve always liked silva. He is an immense player. I donโt think Chelsea have been really tested recently. All very winnable games
Not taking away anything from them. You have to beat what is front of you abd great to be keeling clean sheets but much bigger tests ahead and be interesting to see how they approach the bigger games and how they get on
You have to be happy as a Chelsea fan. Enjoyed watching them on Saturdays

11th November 2020 at 8:28 am #170062AnonymousSean, I think we’ll have some wobbly patches, top three and within striking distance of city and pool would be great. Im liking Ziyech’s ability to unlock sides. Been a while since we had a schemer in midfield and for the first time in a few seasons the midfield is carrying a threat. It’s been a lot of fun to watch our side so far this season and i’ll take that entertainment tbh.
And there’ll be socially distant golfers on here who’ll appreciate this. Unreal trick shot.

11th November 2020 at 8:39 am #170063Sean, we’re playing some nice football, the signings look to be good ones and are settling in nicely get Pulasic fit and on the left and Werner through the middle and it will make us stronger a front three of an injury free Pulasic Werner and Ziyech looks very intersting .
The team/ squad is very young and right now the future looks bright.
Before the signings Glenn Hoddle predicted Chelsea would be challenging for the title within a couple of years hopefully he’s right but nobody should get too carried away.

11th November 2020 at 8:48 am #170064Mak and Pagan, you both made a couple of unfortunate statements imo let’s not let things get out of hand we’re talking about 3 substitutes or 5 substitutes and even if 5 substitutes was to be agreed it’s likely to be just a temporary move to cover this season it’s not worth falling out over.

11th November 2020 at 9:17 am #170065Nine/442 what would Chelseaโs beat formation be?
4-2-3-1 seems to be working well. Front 4 of zyiech harvested pulasic with Werner up top is scary
Frank seems to really like mount aswell though
Silva is back there organizing things. Very shrewd singing. Keeper doing well but bigger tests to come for him

He will go anywhere and attack. Love watching us play
Thatโs why I liked Rodgers aswell. Always playing in the right foot but we couldnโt defend
Chelsea have an excellent squad
Loved rafa but he drive me mad as he could be so negative at times

11th November 2020 at 9:23 am #170067Mak…I would agree withmost of your post except, with respect, you are wrong about the Duty of care. It is the clubs responsibility, by law, for ALL employees

11th November 2020 at 11:43 am #170069Sean,given the players we have tbh I prefer 4/3/3 but Frank will change that according to the opponent’s. Whatever system we play though the players look comfortable with it.
I think Chelsea will probably be stronger in the second half of the season as all the new players bed down and get to know each other better.
Currently Chelsea are 3 points off of top spot I would happily take that at the end of the season. ๐

11th November 2020 at 2:49 pm #170075Potentially more bad injury news for Liverpool?
“Liverpool defender Joe Gomez suffered an injury during training with England today. Gareth Southgate is likely to provide an update this evening at a press conference ahead of the Republic of Ireland game.”
Hopefully it’s not too serious everyone holds their breath when these two week international breaks come around.

11th November 2020 at 2:58 pm #170078AnonymousSure Brian but the clubs are themselves working within tournament/organizations. These come with rules, regulations, restrictions and also a duty of care, from top down. You would agree that if the PL decided it was going to play a match every single day that this would be dangerous, right? Well, add up all these competitions that are all pushing it to the limit.
I had to look up the international fixtures and I see that in Englands case, it’s a friendly versus Ireland (oooff) and then 2 UEFA Nationals League matches, which are essentially just 2 other friendlies. Now, I don’t like internationals so Im definitely biased against them, I admit that. So when I ask if we just cancelled all of them and used the time to ease off clubs fixture congestion… Would it be enough? Maybe we wouldn’t even have needed the 5 subs (except for the restart period).
Cancelling the pointless internationals would definitely be more responsible but it seems that greed got in the way there.

11th November 2020 at 3:39 pm #170089Mak…I think we may be splitting hairs here with the law on Duty of care but think we are not far off the same point. My only added point is, it really does not matter about organisational rules when it comes to a point of law but I do understand where you are coming from. The organisations fall foul of the law and one day they will be seriously challenged. They just cannot keep going on creating more and more games with the corresponding effect on players
As to International, friendly or not..I just do not like them, they have overplayed the importance of such events. I have said this for a long time,Why does a club have to put at risks over 100 million on a friendly meaningless 90 minutes? My mind will never resolve that
