I don’t think ole is the problem at united, think Pogba is.

2nd November 2020 at 11:11 am #169560All true Ed. McDonalds is nice occasionally but I’m with you on where I would prefer to eat.😊
It looks like it’s a matter of when not if with Ole. Shame about that initial winning run.😊

2nd November 2020 at 2:41 pm #169567Anonymous“Probably the most effective thing United could do is to relieve Woodward of all his football duties and bring in a football person to oversee the football side of the Club particularly transfers.”
I agree with this and have spoken at length on the matter many times but my point is that they just will not do this. Woodward shouldn’t be there, Ole shouldn’t be there and Pogba also shouldn’t be there.
1 of those situations will probably be amended soon enough. Which is likely? The other 2, well…

2nd November 2020 at 3:04 pm #169570Utd will be loosing money, like every other team at this time. Shirt sales alone will not cover it although I read this week that UTD LADIES team were outselling the mens!!! I think, as many have pointed out, the problem is at the top. Fergie to a large amount controlled the football side but since he left things have changed and no Manager allowed to settle into the job.it does need sorting out, they have talented players and will always get results but the consistency will be hard to capture.too much responsibility for there younger players to carry the more experienced ones and they will suffer as well eventually. On there day I could see them beating City, Liverpool and Chelsea , then loose to Brighton, Fulham and West Brom and get turned over by Preston in the Cup

2nd November 2020 at 3:29 pm #169572AnonymousThey still pull in absolutely huge revenue, which is kinda weird to me because it’s been almost a decade since they played a decent brand of football, that is actually enjoyable to watch. Fergie retired in 2013, where they walked the league, somehow but even then they were well past the style that you would associate with Utd.
They’ve won almost nothing since, yet they continue to outsell every PL club when it comes to merchandise etc etc. I understand a lot of the reasons behind this but I still would have expected them to suffer more than they are.
What i do not understand is their owners. Edwards knows how to exploit commercial opportunities, fine. He very clearly hasn’t got the foggiest idea what he’s doing when it comes to footballing matters and you don’t have to know better than him to realise that you should get someone in who does. It’s often commented on in the media and the salaries of some of the people they’ve brought in who have gone on to do absolutely nothing for them on the pitch, SURELY gets noticed!?
Apparently it doesn’t get noticed though because they are carrying on like all is going to plan. How much CL and PL bonuses/TV income have they missed out on, not forgetting the very large bonus they get from Chevrolet for qualifying for the CL. Have they lost out on more than 200m in the years since Fergie left? I’d say it’s up around and maybe beyond that figure.
You don’t have to know anything about football to see a decline from certain revenue streams.Sop why the F*** have the Glazers not acted? Someone explain it to me, so that I can finally understand and be at peace with our great rivals turning to utter shit.

That’s exactly it Brian. Imo we were the better side against PSG, Chelsea, Leipzig and yet looked like a League 2 side against Palace, Arsenal and Brighton. In that sense, it worries me that Everton seem to have lost a bit of a spark coming up to the weekend game as we’ll probably roll over for them too.

3rd November 2020 at 12:14 am #169590AnonymousDid you lads see Rodgers talking after the game? He told Pochetino that his holiday time was over and that he needs to get back to work. Then afterwards, Pochetino said “I hope to see you soon” 😉
That’s him going to Utd then. He’ll be a massive upgrade, don’t care what anyone thinks… and yes, I am fully aware of the other problems, not saying they’ll all work out etc. Man for man though, he’s MILES ahead of Ole.

3rd November 2020 at 5:25 am #169591I still think Spurs should have kept Potchetino, Mourinho maybe will get them a KO trophy at some point in time but the football suffers and Spurs have always been associated as the connoisseurs of football, no longer now.

3rd November 2020 at 7:53 am #169598Ed, did you hear Poch extolling the virtues of Dele Alli last night?😊
If you had a choice between Poch and Rodgers who would you prefer accepting Rodgers would be both hard and costly to lever out of Leicester?

3rd November 2020 at 7:56 am #169599Very good win for Leicester. They are definitely contenders for the top 4 and are now only one point behind Liverpool in second place. Rodgers is doing a very good job there.
Surely it couldn’t happen again or could it?

3rd November 2020 at 9:15 am #169601I think Klopp doth protesteth too much a out the Salah “dive”. I think people have missed the point. Yes he was touched and on the basis of todays nonsense you can argue it was a penalty but he did go down as if shot and that is whats wrong. Its not just Salah. We have one or two who fall over. So do others not least of which that cheat Vardy.
These guys are physically very strong with high upper body strength. If you have ever had a kick around with a professional footballer you will know what I mean.
I just wish ALL managers would stop trying to justify diving. But I fear it will just go on with some referees (not least my favourite) cant wait to give a penalty or three just to be the centre of attention.
Hope all are well chaps._____________________________

3rd November 2020 at 9:20 am #169602I think United should extend Ole’s contract to give more cetainty. After all Phil Jones has had his contract extended.
This would stop all the speculation about Pochettino etc!😈😈😈_____________________________

I saw a clip of it yes Nine! I still don’t think we’d go for him even if Poch did come in. He may have been a promising talent up until a couple of years ago but there’s no place in our team for him. Besides, there are around 10 other positions we need to be prioritising over an attacking midfielder right now. Just can’t see it.
Of those 2, Poch 100%. We can’t have an ex-Liverpool manager. Just can’t and won’t happen. It’s all a moot point anyway as I think Woodward will persevere with Ole out of sheer desperation and wanting to finally be proven right in one of his footballing decisions.

3rd November 2020 at 4:56 pm #169609Ed, yeah I get your negativity due to the Liverpool link re Rodgers. Poch it is then. 😊
As you suggest I can also see Woodward trying to hang on to Ole for as long as possible to try and prove he didn’t get the appointment wrong but United will need to start getting some PL results though for that to stand a chance of happening.
The CL results have been good for Ole though and will count in his favour he just needs a bit of a run in the PL.
Tough on United fans they almost have to want United to go on a losing run to accelerate/ help Ole’s departure.
