1st November 2020 at 8:40 pm #169537AnonymousLallana with the winner now and all is well with the universe. I have Kane and Son on my FPL team but I don’t want these cheats to get anything from it.

1st November 2020 at 9:08 pm #169538Really tough time for Ole and it’s beginning to feel like he’s a dead man walking now and I’m not sure he knows how to get out of it.
I think there are more problems at United than just Ole the transfer strategy seems all over the place why buy DVDB decent player but did United really need him and he’s not getting picked at all.
Rumours suggest Ole didn’t want him I’m not sure how true that is but it looks that way.
People say get Poch in but is he really the answer he won nothing at Spurs and then completely lost his way there on a terrible run of games. He’s available and he knows the PL and he would probably have an initial impact but is he any more than a short term solution?
Who is the long term solution and how many United fans are confident enough in Woodward for him to answer that question successfully in fact how many United fans have any confidence in Woodward at all and then there’s the Glazers annually taking significant money out of the Club.
There is seemingly so much wrong at United currently that sacking Ole may be just taking a sticking plaster to the problems.
United probably need to start with bringing a football man in to oversee the whole football side of things and get Woodward out of the football side of things and build from from there.

1st November 2020 at 9:13 pm #169539Anonymousmore farcical stuff. Brighton were attacking at the end and the ref blew the whistle 5 seconds early.. wtf? It’s a MINIMUM of 6 minutes, not whenever you feel like cutting the game off. He should be fired for that nonsense.

1st November 2020 at 9:19 pm #169540AnonymousOle has only won relegation with Cardiff, poch went off the boil but so did Klopp before he left at Dortmund. They were in relegation at one stage. Poch didnt win anything with Spurs but he made a proper team out of them and got the Cl final. Ole’s best chance is to know someone in the ticket office, otherwise he’ll never get to one.
and ya, I agree there are a host of issue at Utd but Ole is one of them. Woodward is the main problem but nothing will happen there without the fans refusing to come back to the stadium, after covid.

1st November 2020 at 9:20 pm #169541Not seen the Spurs game but it’s a good 3 points for them after the midweek defeat in Antwerp. Spurs up to second now just 2 points behind Liverpool.

1st November 2020 at 9:31 pm #169543AnonymousI wont offer my congrats to a team who were really only looking to game the rules, for the vast majority of the match. brighton definitely deserved a draw, they had some really good spells.
Interesting conversation at alf time saying how in rugby it would have been Kane who would get booked, not Lallana giving away that peno. perhaps a rule change in this regard would be a good idea cause kane had no eye for the ball. he saw his chance to game the rules, earn a peno and it worked. he was at it several times through out the match and Son was also. F them.

1st November 2020 at 10:00 pm #169545Yeah agree with Mak here Nine. Ole is far from the only problem at Utd but he’s the only one likely to be going anywhere any time soon. That the board and Woodward are useless, whilst unhelpful, doesn’t detract from the fact Ole is not a good football manager.
I’m not a massive Poch fan but we have to try something different. The Ole experiment was doomed from the start and a ridiculous decision full stop.

1st November 2020 at 10:39 pm #169546We’ve got Tottenham, not too far away as far as the Fixture List goes.
Tottenham play Man City though, sooner, and at Home. With Jose at the Helm and the Reemergence of Gareth Bale, we could really really see an expected outcome.

1st November 2020 at 10:44 pm #169547Was thinking about yesterday and West Ham and Lanzini. Also notably Said Benrahma. He has the Potential, but when it comes to Big Matches, he doesn’t seem to have that belief in himself to go one further as it showed when he was at Brentford. They themselves should have been promoted instead of Fulham.
Hope Benrahma shines as he could really be a Good Fit for the Hammers.

2nd November 2020 at 1:28 am #169553AnonymousI don’t think Ole will survive the week. He’s lost half the games he’s played already and drawn another. He’s got to go. Times up.

2nd November 2020 at 8:17 am #169554Ed, “Yeah agree with Mak here Nine. Ole is far from the only problem at Utd but heβs the only one likely to be going anywhere any time soon. Totally agree with the above Ed but what lies above Ole is the primary source of the problems at United and it doesn’t just end with Woodward either.
If Ole falls shortly as well he might Poch is available and has PL experience so he’s the easy go to solution although you’re not convinced he’s the right solution but if things carry on as they are that’s almost certainly what will happen. Poch I’m sure will have an effect just as Ole did on appointment but will he have a lasting effect?
Probably the most effective thing United could do is to relieve Woodward of all his football duties and bring in a football person to oversee the football side of the Club particularly transfers.
United have to get their transfer dealings right the best Chef in the world wouldn’t be able to bake a delicious cake if someone else keeps providing that Chef with the wrong ingredients and fails to buy the necessary ingredients.
Necessary or not the first Poch signing? Dele Ali.
You heard it here first.π

2nd November 2020 at 8:27 am #169556……. United played very well v Leipzig, without United go on a disappointing run of losses I think United will probably try and stick with Ole in the hope he can turn it around with the objective of reviewing it in the Summer but a poor run of results will almost certainly bring the curtain down on Ole.
Everton away is a difficult game next weekend.

2nd November 2020 at 9:23 am #169557Nine, Alli to Utd? Let’s hope not eh! Last thing Utd need at the moment is another attacking midfielder.
No I agree, Ole won’t be going anywhere just yet. His CL results have bought him some time, rightly or wrongly. In spurts, we look great. Aside from that, we’re dreadful.
I do agree, too, that things need to happen above Ole for Utd to get back to being a threat again in the league but that doesn’t change the fact that Ole is the wrong man for the job.
United have to get their transfer dealings right the best Chef in the world wouldnβt be able to bake a delicious cake if someone else keeps providing that Chef with the wrong ingredients and fails to buy the necessary ingredients.
As for the restaurant analogy, again you’re spot on. That said, if there were two restaurants, each with the same substandard ingredients and owners, one run by an ex McDonalds manager, the other run by a famous chef, I know which one I’d rather eat at!
Poch Iβm sure will have an effect just as Ole did on appointment but will he have a lasting effect?
Who knows? He may, he may not. However, we do know that Ole isn’t having a lasting effect so sticking is no less risky than twisting imo.
