Too many blue shirts. We’d have more chance on the counter.

31st October 2020 at 7:06 pm #169438AnonymousNice try from Jota there, just a little too much on it. Perfect otherwise and would likely have lead to a goal, so thats something promising.

31st October 2020 at 7:11 pm #169442AnonymousAs the commentator just said though, wisely “pre-VAR that goal would have been allowed and nobody would have complained” and thats just right for me.
I dont have a huge issue with it being disallowed because if it were against us, Id be saying he’s come in and taken his leg etc. I had to watch iot 15 times to really see it though.
anyway lets keep going.

31st October 2020 at 7:13 pm #169444AnonymousI didnt celebrate that goal one bit though. I thought Mane had initially fouled the keeper and waited to see if it were chalked off. That’s the biggest problem with even a well implemented VAR. Its no small issue either.

31st October 2020 at 7:32 pm #169455AnonymousNot the greatest performance but a really good result. I have to say that Jota is a breath of fresh air. Nat Philips did well at the back, which gives me some hope for our struggles back there but he’ll have tougher tests ahead. Firmino needs to lose his place for a little while, in my opinion. Jota is currently better than him and although he won’t give us everything that Firmino does, he has something to offer that Firmino definitely can’t, also. I say give it a shot and let Firmino redouble his efforts in training.
I’m really pleased Jota got the winner and not just cause he’s in my FPL team but because it was no fault of his that he was denied the other goal and even at that, it was touch and go.
Great ball on from Shaqiri for the winner also, let’s not let that go unnoticed. If I were Klopp, maybe I’d start him ahead of Jones the next day but perhaps it wouldn’t work for him, as Shaqiri isn’t exactly tactically disciplined.
Anyway, we gradually improved as the match went. We had been toothless for a huge part of the game but we built and built and built, as we do so well. Let’s hope that the performances start to come in but if you lads remember Klopp’s years at the club, we have a bit of a pattern of this kind of result/performance early on, with the real fire coming into our play a little later on.
So, ya just get those 3 points clocked up until we click. City will be a tough test though, really tough. I will probably worry about that when it comes but for now, let’s celebrate the win π

31st October 2020 at 7:50 pm #169456Five-One-Lost-One- 3 Points Clear Looks Good π
Couldn’t afford a 3 point drop today and especially with the game being on home soil. West Ham were a difficult nut to crack, but we now have something a little extra in the locker and that’s Jota π
Really Happy when Shaqs came on, he’s a great likeable professional who’s hung in there really and on it like a Terrier when he gets his opportunities.
Newbie Nat Williams; somebody not afraid to get stuck in and for me had a good game. I’m happy.
We just need to be more vigilante when it comes to opposing threat into our defensive area and work that little bit extra for each other.
Absolutely Delighted and Thankful Winning Tonight π
