17th October 2020 at 8:54 pm #168562BBC are carrying this from Henderson
“It must be offside with VAR, it’s what everyone wants,” Henderson told BT Sport. “I think they bend the lines sometimes to make it offside. I’m not sure how they do it, I’ve seen it before.”
That could land him in a bit of bother…..Pagan

17th October 2020 at 8:58 pm #168563AnonymousThat’s the thing Sean and although I’m definitely not comfortable saying this but it would in most cases be better if their legs did break. Modern medicine, along with the general healing ability of the human body mean that a break is the better long term injury than serious ligament damage.
I watched Thiago’s one again earlier and it looked pretty bad. His leg took an awful impact, just hope that his ligaments are in better shape than Van Dijks.
from here on though, I think I’ll only talk about this stuff on the Liverpool page, unless it keeps rolling here. its not fair on others to hear us moaning on. it could not have gone worse for us though. I don’t wanna hear “you could have lost”, cause now that means nothing.

17th October 2020 at 8:59 pm #168564AnonymousPagan, he’s not actually wrong though. If you look at it, they draw the line from Mane’s elbow, not his shoulder. It’s right there to see for ourselves. They don’t “bend” anything, they just drew the line from outside the rules of the game.

17th October 2020 at 9:01 pm #168565AnonymousSean, Thiago was a breath of fresh air. I’ll feel more comfortable with talking about an upside once I hear the extent of his injury. If he’s in the clear, or not out for long then sure, I’ll go on about how good he was and will be for us, NP.

17th October 2020 at 9:01 pm #168566Mak Agree,
the VAR Tech with full freedom to make an assessment, yet today was simply criminal on Mane. They found a fault just for the sake of it or whoever has called has*****ignored***** (I ‘asterisk’ lol)
I don’t understand even rival fans trying to ‘counter argue’. Ridiculous and Nonsensical.
All they need to so is say that was an incorrect call. That’s it.

17th October 2020 at 9:07 pm #168567Like Photoshop on ‘Celebs’ for example, there’s manipulation. Who’s to say that can be done on VAR. Henderson or any other player in a given situation can take the call to task and question. He is Club Captain.

17th October 2020 at 9:10 pm #168568Mak, what heβs actually said is that VAR has been used to skew results previously, and that ultimately the FA are determining the results of matches, thatβs a massive accusation to make.
Clear and obvious, thatβs how it was sold, but right from the start it was used for micro analysis. The only thing clear and obvious is the fact itβs ruining the game….Pagan

17th October 2020 at 9:11 pm #168569AnonymousTo be fair to him, even Adlab said it was onside. It wasnt a case of it being marginally off, it was on and thats that. I won’t say that I longer care about it at all but we’ve a season ahead now without the best CB in the world. Teams will know they can get at us, so they will try even harder. We already dropped Gomez because he’s been rubbish since the restart. Notice I didnt bat an eye when Klopp dropped him for today? If even I am staying silent about Gomez then there’s a problem.
He better step up now though, I tell you that. Whatever the F*** is going on with him has got to take a backseat now.

17th October 2020 at 9:13 pm #168570AnonymousYa, what he’s said is conspiratorial for sure and he won’t get away with it. I try and push my own thoughts away from that but I can understand how someone can get mixed up in it after such a pile of crap but people consistently under-estimate human ability for incompetence, it’s probably our greatest achievement.

17th October 2020 at 9:32 pm #168575We had exactly the same conversation about VAR last season and nothing has changed. It should OMLY be used for obvious mistakes not to decide if somebody might be mm offside.
Was Utd’s penalty correct? But the Liverpool offside is the same as when Sterling was ruled offside for 2mm. Why do they use this approach? They just need to redefine “level” toavoid this nonsense._____________________________

17th October 2020 at 9:39 pm #168576Adlab, if you put a measurement on anything there will always be arguments, was he 299 mm offside or 301mm.
Clear and obvious, just get rid of the howlers…….Pagan

17th October 2020 at 9:46 pm #168577Strangely, Utd haven’t been all that bad today. Ole lives to fight another day. Matter of time though until he’s gone. We just managed to find a team even worse than us for once π
