Going back to the VvD Pickford incident one thing that hasn’t been discussed much is the offside. Apparently the line for VvD was taken from his elbow. I thought any part of the body that cannot score cannot be offside, which would include the elbow. Apparently that changed this season and if it hadn’t Pickford would of been sent off and a penalty given.

The VAR ref was the David Coote who has made a number of blunders before. Theres rumours going around that he didn’t even look at the challenge as he was too focused on the offside, irrespective of what we think are the laws.

Pagan, @ 5:15, I did mention accuracy, but that millimeter is effectively out of a player’s control. Mane’s overall stance shows in line with the Everton player and if anything, he’s played on.

Elbows and armpits are taken into account, when it’s simply about the position of the feet.

Ludicrous to say the least for what that ruling stands for. That’s cost Liverpool 2 points from a perfectly innocent goal.

La porte was out, and that’s why I rated Danilo and he should have stayed as he complimented Pep’s high press game.

Van Dijk is a massive loss to us in more ways than one. He’s a center half Liverpool have cried for since the 90’s. Gomez has gone the other way; short of confidence and in no man’s land. So that’s 2 Vital positions now at Risk. Matip can fill one, and I’m thinking James Milner and/or Fabinho between them as interim.

Sean, the outlook of it all this season looks different mate with Refereeing and Technology. I don’t tend to be concerned and just allow nature to take it’s course, but have to say, I’m feeling this.

Further down the line, I think they’ll be other teams unfortunately experiencing this and my solution really is for Managers to get together and stand United in throwing this nonsense out for good, or bring in common sense, experience and somebody or a team of individuals that know what they are doing.

Nil, there’s no point bleating on about it, you thought VAR was great last season when other clubs were feeling the “injustice” of technology, didn’t notice you standing United with us then. Im all for VAR, just not this implementation of it. I have lost the rag when other clubs have been screwed over by it, primarily because of it not being luck of the draw and it is actually the degredation of the sport we all lpve, combined with knowing the nonsense I’ve seen before will hurt us too. We got the harshes of it though today. Worse thsn I’d hVe expected.

On top of that, Van Dijks season and potentially top class career is over….

Thiagos leg bent back something fierce today too, just jope the news with hin isnt similar or I may just call an end to the season.

Reports suggest Van Dijk could be out for 6 to 8 months with an ACL injury.

Really bad news for him, Liverpool and Holland wish him the very best with his recovery it’s a nasty injury hopefully the scans show it not to be as bad as it first seems.

Cheers Nine. Ultimately, we have to be prepared for the worse and that’s not to place any pressure on 1 single player of the squad given any playing position.

Van Dijk is a Massive Influence all over, but we need to now start planning and preparing, albeit an emergency loan signing sought.

Nil, maybe you’re picking up some flak from my reaction earlier, as I definitely was about to blow a gasket. Im not now myself either but this is awfully depressing. It’s ridiculous to already see the title slipping away but the new lads at the back changed everything for us. Hopefully no more injuries back there now. Also just fecking hope that Thiago is not too bad also.

Nil, not picking an argument, just most of us went through this 12 months ago, it was rubbish then and nothing has changed, so we’re stuck with it.
