5th October 2020 at 2:28 pm #168155They BOTH should have had red cards.
I was reminded of the old SAF joke when City scored 6!
” Mrs SAF says come on Alex time to get up its 7″ “Half a sleep SAF says ” Oh no not another”
Oldie but goodie….ΔΊ

5th October 2020 at 2:45 pm #168159Shiney-Martial and Pogba should be sent off every game, sometimes allowed back in and sent off again, just for being so fooking lazy and thinking they are God
s gift to mankind.I
d rather start the game with 10 men[or 9],than having either of these 2 French pussies playing._____________________________

5th October 2020 at 2:52 pm #168160Recent results are no doubt a surprise, or are they? At some point, leading teams are going to suffer this way, it has happened in the past and will do so in the future. What will happen though , is their is a crack in the assumed infallibility , short term Liverpool will bounce back but other teams will have made note. City found that out to there costs as well. In the past Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd all fell the same way, always starts with games like we have just witnessed. I will say little about Utd because they need a major overall, particularly at Board level, They have some good players poorly managed. I am pleased for Everton and Villa, I see Everton the bigger threat.
I hope it continues to be an eventful and exciting season, I doubt we will see fans back before Christmas with the current escalation of the virus. Let us just enjoy it for what it is…a good game of football_____________________________

5th October 2020 at 2:58 pm #168162Maverick…I was amazed to see just how lazy Pogba is, just lets people pass him and never chases them. Maguire…now I know why City did not increase there offer. Otemendi was a class act compared to him

7th October 2020 at 11:14 am #168213Adlab, I suspect many in football especially the United fans would like to see Leveraged Buy Outs in football outlawed and hopefully going forwards that might be the case but you can’t change where we are now and neither can UEFA take retrospective action against such a strategy.
The Glazers have made hundred of ££££millions from United utilising a LBO which has put considerable debt on United and held United back in the transfer market which has signigicantly restricted their forward development probably to City’s and other Clubs benefit.

7th October 2020 at 11:27 am #168214Spot on Nine. You don’t have to do much to convince Utd fans that we should all be against LBO. One of many things fans around the world would love to be removed from the game.
Equally, we’d no doubt all love to see an end to state-owned football club ownerships where said state has very questionable human rights records.
In summary, there are many things we all agree shouldn’t be a thing but are. Until that changes, the likes of what we see at both Utd and City (regarding the above two situations) will continue. All clubs can do is work towards staying within the parameters of what’s currently deemed acceptable. One thing we can all agree on is how great it would be if the fans retained a controlling stake, ala the German model.

7th October 2020 at 11:59 am #168215Ed, although I do not like the idea of State ownership, but strictly speaking this is not the case.
You also mention human rights but put a caveat in “questionable”. Pleas tell me is there any country in the world that does not violate human rights in whatever way so to single out a country is unfair. This country amongst others are being made accountable for “Black matters” amongst others. I further question why this should be brought into a football discussion,There will always be owners we do not like for whatever reason, the amount of money that the Chelasea and City owners have invested could have easily been attractive for British domicile billionaire or even major companies but they have not seen football in the same terms as others.Overseas investors saw this an opportunity and used it. I also believe the game plays second fiddle to the demands of the TV and Betting industry and that is where the longer term objective is, not human rights If you go down this route then you open a big can of worms. I know this is a strong statement and many will dispute it but be careful with comments_____________________________

7th October 2020 at 12:11 pm #168216Brian, Sheikh Mansour is deputy Prime Minister, half brother of the President and a member of the ruling Royal Family of the UAE. This is not some loose connection. The UAE is a state where merely being homosexual can carry a death sentence. That makes me uneasy.
Are all other football owners innocent? Of course not, but some things should just not be tolerated, in my opinion, when it comes to what are the minimum requirements we should expect from a football club owner in our game.
Utd fans are very much against the current Utd regime and the debt placed upon the club. I’d like to see more City fans speak out against their owners. We should all be united in ridding the game of both types of owners.
If you’re interested, this is a very good read and from a City fan’s point of view, too https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/nov/23/uae-human-rights-man-city-jailing-british-academic

7th October 2020 at 3:01 pm #168217Well , you quote The Guardian…that says it all to me and in particular there last line. …”donate a Β£1…… Once upon a time it was a good paper but like everything else it prints has an agenda. It makes waves to cover poor circulation I suspect
Sheikh Mansour is as you say deputy Prime Minister but he is also a business man with his own interest in many countries, not only football. Of course you can quote individual cases but like I said you can do the same with just about any other country for one case or another. You are not going to get a perfect world, there will always be somebody or country will want to rule it in there way, whatever that may be. Recent history shows Germany tried it twice
The point of my comment was that a football forum is no place for a political discussion of this nature. I certainly do not want to be political but I will not put blinkers on either hence my response. It would also appear we will never agree on this, I can live with that_____________________________

7th October 2020 at 3:19 pm #168218I completely respect your opinion Brian. For clarity, though, I haven’t quoted the Guardian at all. I’ve linked to a very good article written by a City fan, so I’m not sure what agenda there could possibly be. I genuinely think you’d find it interesting.
As you say we won’t agree on this, which is fine. I think the majority of football fans want rid of the type of owners currently at BOTH our clubs and I fully support that, personally. If you don’t, that’s entirely your perogative.
