Yeah not sure what you mean about the Glazers Brian. Don’t think anyone was blaming them for the fixture pile up. I certainly wasn’t complaining about it either. As I said before, made zero difference to Utd. But understand others being annoyed at it as it gave Utd no choice but to make loads of changes.

On the Ole team selection issue, surely there can’t be any complaints with that fixture schedule.  Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday is frankly asking for injuries and giving Ole no choice.

Gib and Blaze, you can’t compare City and United, United don’t have the same depth of quality as City have, the precedent therefore is you can decide where it’s ok for you to lose or win certain games as it suits your team.

Moos…City depth quality has been over stated, we have a good one but the difference was the management and tactics employed. The Chelsea game and others clearly show our “B” team is not ready or has been…I think this will change next season though because the players that got us through this season were outstanding in there effort, Some of the “B” team players not up to it and it could be argued even some of the “A” team. but that will all change now. Pep has seen what he needs to see. I do see at least one more youngster being brought in

We’re living in an age where we’re paying more attention to what somebody else is doing.

Liverpool had this last year. After the restart, they only needed a certain amount of points to secure the league title. They had no other vested interests as they were out of every other competition so then the only aim was Points total and then there was talk about ‘weakened’ teams fielded and integrity of the Premier League.

There is an argument on the measure of 38 games and not relying on the a small handful to determine your fate. Some may however think and feel differently.

Lot of moaning about nothing if you ask me

both United and city in their respective games played 11 players who are not only part of the first team squad but get paid millions snd are in many cases internationals in their own right

and who is to say what is the stronger team ? A knackered 11 played 2 days before or fresh 11?

Stop crying babies and get on with it, if your own teams are good enough to get top 4 you will and that’s down to them and how they play over 38 games not what other teams do 🙄

Spot on Steve. If we start getting into allowing certain rules for City because they have a stronger squad than anyone else and another rule for everyone else (as Moos seems to be suggesting), we’re into very muddy waters. Anyone would think we played a team full of kids the way people have been moaning.

What’s the point of squads if they don’t get used and when can you use them if not under these circumstances

If a team misses out on top 4 it won’t be because of 1 match played by 2 other teams it will be on them and them alone

As for recommendations, try the “Gentlemen’s Bastards” Series by Scott Lynch (Robin Hood type nonsense in a GOT style setting, quite funny in places!), The First Law trilogy by Joe Ambercrombie (basically GOT style but the books are better in my humble opinion!), or if you want something a bit more sci-fi, any of the *Culture” series by Iain M. Banks.

Ye stevo , don’t get the moaning. Absolutely no issue with ogs team last night. Liverpool v utd is the biggest game in English football and ole was always going to rest players for that considering the fixture build up. He really had no choice

Spot on Brian, I think all the players that played against Chelsea last weekend are capable and could quite easily slot into the ‘first eleven’ (loose terminology) and do a decent job individually but as a collective the team is lacking, as in the case of United last night.
