VAR can’t do anything about diving at the moment as it’s a yellow card offence, all it can do is undo a decision where a ref has been conned. If there’s one law that needs changing it’s that one, get caught diving, straight red…..Pagan

Ahhh, didn’t think of that Pagan.  So VAR can’t deal with yellow card offences?  Agree that needs changing specifically for diving.  For me that’s the only thing VAR should be involved in – I’d even accept it as a retrospective review and punishment the day after the game, where players get yellow cards in the post 😉  It would make the refs lives a lot easier in the long run as you’d expect diving to diminish once players start accumulating bookings and bans.

VAR can’t and shouldn’t deal with yellow card offences, otherwise every time the ref blew then they’d have to have a review, just change diving to a straight red and at least the team that’s wronged gets an advantage……Pagan

Well they’ve done a lot more than most thought they would, merely by the fact they responded. As always though, only time will tell whether these are anything more than just empty words.

If the forecast is right, we may not start the game or it maybe abandoned. Heavy rain from the early hours Saturday morning until Late evening, Not ideal for two footballing teams and maybe a Ref that cannot swim. I cannot remember last match cancelled at City but always first time.
