That footage posted just typifies how closely homed-in these Managers are under the Microscope. How should any of Mikel, Pep, and Jurgen respond?
What we will see accentuating more and more; like a very tight Tennis match of Advantage-Deuce before there’s simply no more minutes to play and in mathematically, the contest is settled.
Should really be more enjoyable and fun which I would say is taken out due to the constant scrutiny compounded if you like by pre and post match conferences.
The impact of all this settling ones mood on Reflection. Joint top on bar Goal Difference; should be a Glass-half full.
And the Good News is, we don’t have to play United again 😉

7th April 2024 at 9:18 pm #213684Ed, I can only make the point of the fixation of slow-motion. That’s making this look a soft penalty and minimal contact. I’m sure VAR are studying real-time footage to get into the eyes of Anthony Taylor. Good Refereeing by him above all for all the slack he takes.

7th April 2024 at 9:23 pm #213685We have to get our own part right and the fault lies on our doorstep. Too many bridesmaids shy to go for goal and finish off the job. Real Madrid would have hit for 7. A reality check for what lies ahead in the summer of rebuilding the squad to reach Top Top quality.
We have been playing with understudies and throughout waiting for this playing to return, that player, etc etc. Have we had a full compliment of our ‘Perfect 11’?
We paid the price in not being ruthless in the first half. I was scared of it. What a freak of a goal to concede and their 2nd just brought back March the 17th.

7th April 2024 at 10:45 pm #213686Ye ed, we got one there. Ill take every decision we get now as we have been robbed so many times.
It is over. We had it in our hands. Arsenal will batter utd. Thats dreadful from us today. In total control, utd missing sll their cbs. We concede to many goals. That was terrible in the 2nd half
Im not having a go but this is apoor utd side who city easily dismissed. Now we have to rely on others like previous years and it’s never worked out for us. It is over for is, absolutely gaurentee that.

8th April 2024 at 3:19 am #213687Dropping 7 points in 3 games and top 4/5 pretty much out of sight now. How the might has fallen. Europa conference league here we come. Still have Newcastle, Brighton, Arsenal to play and win, then relying on Spurs and Villa to drop points in most games that are remaining.
Absolutely dreadful performance again. It is depressing how Arsenal, City, Liverpool can go toe to toe against each other regardless who is playing, yet United get outplayed and rely on errors and individual brilliance or moments.
Willy, Maino, Dalot, Onana played well and that is about it.
I would sell Bruno and Rashford. Bruno on his day can be brilliant, but those days are rare. How slow our transition from defence to attack is down to him. How slow our counter attacks are is because of him. He isn’t a big game player, he doesn’t get us out of a rut or grips the game from the scruff of the neck. Sell him and build a side around Maino. Use the money on reinforcements elsewhere. Similar to what Liverpool did with Countinho. Sometimes selling your key player could get you money to spend on better players in key areas that are needed.
Unfortunately Bruno isn’t out Robbo, Scholes or Keane.

8th April 2024 at 5:20 am #213688I can’t see the video you posted Ed it’s been withdrawn due to copyright issues but I assume it’s the Wan Bissacka foul? Seen it again in not so slow motion only and it’s one of the most nailed on pens I’ve seen this season. Yes his leading foot doesn’t make contact but he takes out Elliots standing foot. I’m not going for the “he left it trailing to initiate contact”, what was he supposed to do with his leg? It happen3d very fast, not in slow mo.
If that’s a dive as I’ve seen some Utd fans suggest then it’s the greatest dive in history of football. Harry Kane would even be chuffed with it!
I’m not sure if it’s VAR, or the over exposure tackles get with today’s TV but it seems everything that happens against a team throws up shouts of injustice, corruption or whatever.

8th April 2024 at 5:22 am #213689Yeah no worries Sean. From our point of view, it’s just another decision that’s gone against us. It doesn’t help that we’re also crap but that doesn’t excuse the fact that we’re just getting no good fortune at all at the moment. 3 soft penalties against us in the space of a few days is just crazy. So many bad calls against us in the big games this season too. Denied a stonewall pen for handball against Spurs, denied a penalty on Hojlund at Arsenal, City get a ridiculous penalty against us, Chelsea get 2 of the softest pens you’ll see and now this.
I know you’re extremely pessimistic by nature Sean but you’re massively still in this race and probably have one of the best run ins. I personally think the other two are level slightly above Liverpool this season but anything can happen between now and the end of the season. Arsenal are prone to bottling run ins and City seem capable of dropping silly points.

8th April 2024 at 5:23 am #213690Yeah noticed it got removed Threeps. Here’s another one
That’s so unfair
Never a penalty
Baffling it wasn’t even checked by VAR

8th April 2024 at 5:25 am #213691I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was a dive but he’s definitely gone in looking for that contact as the initial contact with WBs foot never happens.

8th April 2024 at 5:30 am #213692Doesn’t matter if the leading foot doesn’t make contact, his leg clearly does. I do not think Elliot could be expected to do anything else, he did normal running movements and it happened it real time not slow motion. Clear as anything pen.

8th April 2024 at 5:37 am #213693No worries Threeps. We agree to disagree. I’m sure I’d be saying the same if it went that way for us.

8th April 2024 at 5:38 am #213694Looking at the remaining figures City have the easier run in. The only game I’d expect them to drop points is against Spurs. They have 3 games out of 7 against top half teams. 3/7 at home.
Likewise Liverpool also have 3/7 against top half teams but the Merseyside derby away makes it more challenging. Spurs at home is easier than at their place but Villa away will be tough. Also three away games in a week. 3/7 at home.
Arsenal have 4/7 against top half teams. Utd and spurs away will prove difficult but if Utd play like they did yesterday I cannot see Arsenal’s forwards being as slack as Liverpools. Chelsea at home could also be difficult depending which Chelsea turns up. 4/7 at home.

8th April 2024 at 5:46 am #213695Villa are not the side they looked a few weeks back Threeps. They’re very beatable now. Arsenal and City the stronger sides imo but it’s so tight now that anything could happen.

8th April 2024 at 7:33 am #213696Ye but now yet again, we have to dependon others. 09,14,19.22, waiting for rivals yo drop points and it never happened. We had to go there and win.
Just no clinical enough and we constantly concede silly goals. City needed to go to a utd a fewtimesover last few seasons in tye run in and beat them easily at old tarford.
No way over, over reaction from me but its much more difficult now
Nunez not stepping up in tye big massive games and his decision making was terrible
Glad to get a draw in the end but game should have been over at half time. Its amassive two points dropped

8th April 2024 at 7:37 am #213697We’d all be screaming for a peno if it were our team “attacking” and all whining about how unfair life is in general if we were defending… compared to some very silly peno’s given over the last week or so, I’d say yesterday’s was the most least not silly one of the lot…
As for the run in, all about who’s going to drop the least amount of points, as none of the top 3 are going 7 and 0, for sure… and with my sensible hat on, I wouldn’t like to guess who’s dropping points where…
Be great going into the last weekend with all 3 teams still in with a shout and YooUtd down to 11th! 🙂

8th April 2024 at 7:54 am #213698If Arsenal do win all their remaining matches then they’ll have won 18 and drawn one of their last 19 games. 55 points out of 57 is staggering and you would just have to stand back and tip your hat to them.
Can’t see it happening. They are a superb team but not the level of the City and Liverpool 95+ points teams.
They do finish at Goodison Park so I wouldn’t like to be reliant on Everton putting up a fight to secure Liverpool a title! Maybe another points deduction will change the dynamics.

8th April 2024 at 8:23 am #213699It’s a clear dive, he doesn’t even try to plant his right foot in a natural stride position – in would have been much further in front of where he ended up making contact with AWB. Absolutely see why it was given but that was a played for and got decision and those have to be the incidents we want to see driven out of the game – no matter whose team does it (and all do).
Makes a mockery of VAR too, though VAR doesn’t need any help in that regard. Clear punch on Yates by Maddison yesterday and a VAR / ref bottle job double act.

8th April 2024 at 8:31 am #213700Hell seems to break loose! 2 Weeks ago, Liverpool were in the same position. Weirdly, we’ve not been firing but misfiring and some of our players have been off it possibly due to injuries and a long season.
The draw last week at the Ethiad saw us back to 1st. I did say places will be swapped that’s how tight it is. Of course during the match, emotions run high and Liverpool fans like myself are still feeling the disappointment. Generally playing at Old Trafford is just a horrible experience; bit like Goodison.
I was thinking what was needed more was experience; How much is Joel Matip and the likes of James Milner missed? I keep saying this too in how we miss actual strikers/gamechangers coming off the bench. We keep relying on Elliot and I personally don’t rate him as high as perhaps others. Carvalho should have been kept on.
I think we’ll beat Fulham. By then, we’ll have our full strength and won’t see us drop points. If we do get past Everton, then we should beat West Ham. I think Arsenal will drop points somewhere, but it’s whether or not Manchester City do the same so in essence we have to match their results.
What a ride though. I hope we win the Europa and at least have 2 Trophies to show. Lots of rebuilding to be done. We definitely need an attacking midfielder and a center half. We need a new Manager too who’s innovative on formations.
Fair few bad decision-making yesterday right on the final third of the pitch, you just couldn’t make it up.

8th April 2024 at 8:33 am #213701clear penalty. Stop analyzing in slow motion people. The game isn’t played in slow motion lol.
As for the worse decisions this season, the Offside call is a scarred on us; Luis Diaz versus Spurs!

8th April 2024 at 8:56 am #213703Whatever speed you play the clip at Nil Elliot makes no attempt to land his right foot in a natural position, he keeps it back and initiates the contact with AWB. The speed of the pictures makes no difference and cannot change the simple fact that he makes no attempt to land his foot. He was going down before the contact at whatever speed you wish to view the film.
We’d all defend our players in the same situation, so I get why you are, but simple facts aren’t changed by the speed of the footage.
