Agree mikus
No fans have levelled it
More goals more mistakes itβs surreal but making for better games in some ways
Big clubs much more affected_____________________________

27th September 2020 at 6:47 pm #167430Moos….Ake. will be OK, he had a good first game and was not the worst defender to day either, plus he scores a goal. I am prepare to give the guy a fair chance, if Pep has any sense though he will move him to LB when he signs a CB this week, loose Mendy who not only cannot defend but slows the attack

27th September 2020 at 6:57 pm #167434Refs don’t appear to be afraid to give the Pens, Mav. No fans too, so that (what might have been) intimidation part taken away too. The Refs even if they don’t get every decision right are a lot more proactive and prepared to spend more time reviewing with VAR.

27th September 2020 at 7:08 pm #167441Nike. Spot on. No crowd to be afraid of.
But broken record me….Oliver is the worst referee in the league. Thats why he wasnt picked for the World Cup nor any other English refs._____________________________

27th September 2020 at 7:09 pm #167442WBA for example would have been more likely to have held on to that lead yesterday with the fans behind them surely, screaming at them when they sat too deep and roaring them on when they manage to win possession and break away.

27th September 2020 at 7:11 pm #167445Not because of todays bad result but the rules, the refs etc are ruining the game.
Too many penalties for nothing. Too much cheating a la Vardy. Blow on him over he goes._____________________________

27th September 2020 at 7:25 pm #167453Adlab, I think there’s a huge impact that’s been lost.
Some grounds have known to be intimidating for the Away team, like Selhurst Park.
I think the Big teams with quality generally handle it well, the Fans still can make a real difference.

27th September 2020 at 7:33 pm #167461Oliver is the best ref in the league for me.
They were 3 pens today. Vardy knows how to prey it when he gets a nick but all were 3 pens. No conspiracy againest city
Leicester looked like they would cause a big problem in every attack. No to worry city have signed Diaz who will improve them. Brings peps spending on defenders to a whopping 400m. Crazy stuff
Mendy is a shocking defender.

27th September 2020 at 7:41 pm #167466Probably the most inept defensive display from us for at least 10 years. We can all point fingers at individual players but for me, Pep has to take much of the blame – he plays 2 HMFs (Rodri and Fernandinho) and 2 full backs and all 4 were playing too far forwards when we were on the attack. Leicester only troubled us a couple of times in the first half as a result of the 2 CBs being exposed to their pacey attackers. When we were on the attack, one of Ferna or Rodri should have dropped back to form a back three, thus providing better cover against the break. Pep should have seen this and had words accordingly. Instead, he subs Ferna (at 1-1, very early in the 2nd half) and brings on a 17yo to play the lone striker role. We were doing ok at 1-1, nothing should have been changed so early, apart from, as I said, one of the HMFs should have sat deeper when we were attacking. Leicester only won the game after that change was made.
Having said that, well played Leicester. You took your chances (albeit 3 pens) and exposed our failings, both from management and the players.
(I bet Arteta would have spotted that)_____________________________

I agree Sean but it’s no coincidence that no English refs have gone to the last two international tournaments. Our standard of reffing is at an all time low – the facts don’t lie.
Having said that, they’ve not been helped by the FAs interpretation of the rules under VAR.
Football is dying and I much prefer to watch golf or cricket these days._____________________________
