A potential problem for Man Utd here is that all this drama, all these counterattacks and penalties could start to detract from the bigger picture that they’re still some way off the top. Liverpool went through a similar phase in the 90s where they could look the part but were obviously way off the top. Then you’ll have the cries of “we just need this…or if we could just sign him…” but it never happened and the roots of the problems lay deeper. You can’t build championships on excitement and drama, but it does help to appease the fans because they have very short memories. And owners know this, which is probably why Sancho was targeted.

Adlab, it was a legitimate decision mate, if the last action before final whistle is reviewed and a penalty due then it will be given, I would expect it if it was my team, you too if for city, just hard to take for us because its utd, they were lucky as can be to get 3 points today though no arguing with that

mikus, I don’t think utd, chelsea or even arsenal or spurs for that matter are that far off the top. Just a few good acquisitions and luck with injuries and all four of these teams could challenge.

As chelsea fan I hope utd blow their whole budget on sancho, because if they upgraded lindelof and Shaw instead they would be a very good team imo

We are all very quick to jump on var and the officials when they get something wrong but for utds penalty they got it exactly right and shows the quality var can bring to the game.

But Utd still need the right recruitment team and management in place to bring in the right players. Do they have that yet? I agree Arsenal and Spurs look in better shape on that front though they appear to lack the spending power of the others. As for Chelsea, they’re harder to call at the moment. They’ve always tended to buy well, but I’m not sure how united the board and manager are and I do just wonder exactly who is choosing these players.

It was a definite pen. Thought ref got it right today. Var worked perfectly today for all the big decisions.

Utd are terrible at the back and a good team would have been out of sight but utd are still only getting going and a win is a win. Big 3 points for them today when they are still trying to get fully fit.

Lucky totally agree. Sancho is not the answer unless they address a new centre bsck. Bailey is very good but I hired far to much. They need a fast centre back to play beside maguire.

Ole needs to show some balls and drop Pogba and play van beek. If I was a utd fan I’d wNt Pogba out of my club

Sean, I think it’s pogba or van de been too in terms of starting. I don’t think I would want pogba gone if I were a utd fan, but I would want utd to have the quality within the squad so that he isn’t relied on and I think they have that now. I would bench pogba if van de beek was training and performing better but pogba is a really useful player to have imo.

He hasn’t done enough for me lucky since he joined for 90m.

He wouldn’t get into the Liverpool
Or city team has he doesn’t work hard enough and he’s far to easy to press. I’d expect a hell of a lot more from a 90m player mate

Worlds richest club? Not in my book.
Losses and half a billion in debt. And worse to come with covid. Good revenue?…yes but everytime they buy without selling, so their debt increases. 2020 accounts due soon so we will see
