Thinking about it lads we just had the first home team win of the weekend and it was west ham who are probably the only team that would not benefit from having their fans in the stadium 🙂

Ah christ.. No Alisson or Thiago?!… FFS. I was feeling confident about this one, that’s seen to that but we still have enough quality to make it happen. We’ve just got to get up through the gears ASAP.

Maybe I’m just a cranky fecker but the new handball rules have taken the shine off the return of the PL. I don’t think I’ve ever been so annoyed at decisions that didn’t matter to my own club but of course it’s that it’s coming for us, one way or the other. It just drags the beautiful game through the mud.

MOTD were saying that this isn’t an FA/PL issue and that they cant change the rules, that it must come from FIFA (or technically the rulings body, I forget the name). I don’t want a season of this shite, I know they probably won’t but I hope they alter the rules during the season.

Ye stevo arsenal have every chance and be no surprise if it’s a draw mate

This is just a totally different arsenal team now that are up for a fight. They work hard for the manager. Even areta has admitted he had ditched the arsenal way of beautiful football so he can get results and he’s spot on.

It’s going to be very hard to break aresnal down and we need to score 1st so they will come out and play

Lads, did you see the stats re handball pens on MOTD2? La liga, like the prem, used to average around 20 handball pens per season, that shot up to 57 the first season these rules were introduced, almost tripling, and like here a lot of these would have been completely accidental. Rules are rules but these rules are mental.

Apparently bundesliga saw a similar jump first season but a reduction in second season as defenders were instructed to keep hands by sides at all times. I remember few years back Ivanovic started defending like that and got some stick off Gary neville, ahead of his time by the looks of it and he never gave a pen away for handball 🙂

BTW, these rules also disadvantage the weaker teams who will spend less time in oppo box and as result no doubt be the victims of these decisions more often than they benefit.

Imagine being manager of a struggling team and you set them up perfectly against a top team and your boys give all they have, then in last min ball bounces in to back of defenders arm and bye bye to the point.

Steve Bruce showed a lot of class to be so outspoken despite benefitting from it, but he knows his side will suffer more than most from this in long term.

I think this season is a write off. The results are slightly freakish at the minute. no fans, no home advantage, no team hitting stride and all teams capable of scoring goals. top four predictions out the window?

Ya Sean, City were favourites, now Liverpool are apparently going to walk it solo. Leicester did give them an awful pasting but it’s too early to shift so hard, especially since we’ve yet to get our 3rd match out of the way, we could easily lose this.
