Main problem with Liverpool is they relied on a core group of players and when they got injured it has hit them hard so once they have them back they should be ok. Nowadays you need a whole squad of reliable players cause of the pile up of fixtures and the pandemic and general pressures you can’t rely on a few brilliant players only.

6th March 2021 at 10:54 am #176345I think Blaze above is right. You can’t expect a small group of players to maintain the highest levels of the previous season. The excellent front three aren’t delivering at the moment. It happens. Perhaps Klopp should have tried something different.

6th March 2021 at 11:03 am #176346Adlab, The front 3 have been rotated. The problem has been that it’s not really for like for like quality. E.g. Origi and Shaqiri.
Jota was the ideal inset at the start that complimented the front 3.
There is scope for a formation change irrespective of the constraints in not have our center backs and midfielders, but he needs to have a good look at his squad and start unearthing some ideas.

6th March 2021 at 11:35 am #176348One to eleven when everyone is fit and on form Liverpool are extremely strong problem is their squad is too shallow and if they get injuries or loss of form the replacements aren’t good enough on top of that Klopp hasn’t been prepared to change his tactics and this season has been like the “Perfect Storm” with everything going wrong.
Probably 90% of the fan base remain behind Klopp and I suspect most importantly the match going fans so I don’t think he’s under any imminent danger but he has to start being a bit more open to changing his tactics, I’m not sure how the quality and depth of the squad can be addressed short term because the money is unlikely to be there to do that.
If Klopp was to go, like Sean I think he’s more likely to walk than be pushed but no matter who you are if you don’t win football matches the owners will start to ask awkward questions and if you still don’t win football matches then the inevitable will happen.

6th March 2021 at 12:08 pm #176350The squad wasnβt a problem last season when we signed no one on the summer of 19. No team could deal with the amount of injuries we have had. A fully fit squad and we have loads of options but majority of the side are playing as bad as they ever have in their career.
As nine says , there can be a case of over analysing
For whatever reason we have been diabolical. Absolutely horrendous.
Agree with nine about klopp changing something. If we go with the same midfield 3 tomorrow and fabhino at cb then
you have to say , heβs being stubborn and itβs a case of banging your head of the wall
Iβve no idea whatβs going on. If itβs the same in November Iβll be concerned
I certainly wonβt write us off just as I didnβt with city after last year
We have had it so good at liverpool recently that itβs strange to be moaning but Iβll always support the manager until the day he leaves. Heβs brought times I thought Iβd never see in my lifetime

6th March 2021 at 12:31 pm #176351Sean, agree mate. Everyone’s got their own points of view which is fine, but people calling in the way they have for “Klopp OUT” when he’s delivered back to back a European Cup and The Unthinkable Premier League is ludicrous in my eyes.
We finished those seasons too with 97 and 99 points. Formidable.
I’m sticking with the attitude and acceptance effectively of writing off this season. Perhaps a break from Europe next season altogether might benefit us and we can try more harder for domestic trophies in the FA and League Cup.

6th March 2021 at 2:22 pm #176353Sean, as I remember it last season Liverpool went the whole season virtually injury free so the squad was rarely called on and also form was rarely a problem last season too.
Taking Salah off which was a strange decision in itself and replacing him with Oxlade Chamberlain as a Chelsea fan left me relieved as I expect it left a lot of Chelsea fans relieved.
Personally I don’t think players like Ox, Origi,Shaqiri Davies and Kabak etc are good enough for Liverpool but that’s just a personal opinion and what do I know! π

6th March 2021 at 3:47 pm #176356Klopp out is unbelievably stupid. Yes he has made some bad decisions but which manager hasn’t. Circumstances have conspired against Liverpool this season. We will all agree with that. I have said in a few posts though that I think Liverpool would have been better served with a change in approach. I think teams began to sus the long ball to Mane and Salah and stood off them. Of course the lack of central defence hasn’t helped.
But saying “Klopp out” is utter nonsense. As a City fan I would hope they might put Mourinho in charge instead!_____________________________

6th March 2021 at 6:11 pm #176360I’m not sure where’s this so called “Klopp out” is coming from. Understandably there are a few question marks but I haven’t seen any calls of “Klopp out” reported.
I’m sure there are probably a few idiots on social media throwing that around but I don’t believe that’s the opinion of the genuine Liverpool fan base.
Be Madness if it was.
I don’t think there’s any depth to this and according to Klopp himself the owners want him to stay and get things back on track and that’s what he intends to do.

6th March 2021 at 8:16 pm #176361Nine, Good couple of Replies from you mate, Cheers on support for Jurgen.
It must be a small minority wanting that type of change. Best thing for us mate is to try and positively move forward and try and finish this season the best we can and just enjoy it.
π
Cheers

7th March 2021 at 12:07 pm #176365Nine we had a good few injuries last season chum
Alison missed the first 11 games
Fabhino missed two months
Keita out for a long time
Matip missed 4 months
Henderson missed 6 weeksThatβs just off the top of my head but this season, players are being played out of position and we are missing them in midfield
Injuries are only part of the problem mate. Huge problem now is we are terrible going forward. We have no ideas how to open up stubborn defences
The back 4 is a problem but so is midfield so are the forwards and so are the bad decisions of jurgen
I donβt see any klopp out calls. Couple of fools on social media probably as nine says

7th March 2021 at 2:48 pm #176378Sean, everyone suffers injuries at some stage or another mate it’s when so many come at once and the squad players aren’t maybe of a sufficient quality to fill in every week.
I’ve read lots of comments from Liverpool fans which say that you were fortunate with injuries to your main starters over the previous two seasons.
It’s all about opinions mate I don’t think the likes of Ox, Origi,Shaqiri Davies and Kabak etc are good enough for Liverpool if you think otherwise that’s your opinion and I totally respect it but from what I’ve seen quite a few Liverpool fans have questioned the quality of the Liverpool squad.
I’m pretty sure that if Liverpool’s main starters had stayed fit this season Liverpool wouldn’t be where they are now and all the other problems have flowed from that. Overall in certain positions the squad has been too thin too for instance having sold Lovren last Summer had they replaced him the Centre Back position would not have been such a problem area this season.
You can put it down to the injuries to the Centre Backs but Liverpool were top of the table at Christmas even with the injuries to both VVD and Gomez so given where Liverpool find themselves now it goes a bit deeper than that imo but that’s just my opinion mate.
As I said earlier one to eleven Liverpool when everyone is fit and on form Liverpool are still a very very strong team.
I’m sure Klopp will get Liverpool up and running again next season and if they strengthen in a couple of areas and stay broadly injury free they will be up there and one of the title challengers again good players don’t become bad players overnight. Cheers 9’s
