17th February 2024 at 6:31 pm #212651Chelsea deserved that, better finishing could have had another. Fully expect City to come out fired up and win however, but there will be chances for Chelsea on the break.

17th February 2024 at 6:55 pm #212653Carragher has just commented that “he feels like it’s coming”. I beg to differ. Normally I write something like T-1000, but Disasi, Gusto and Chilwell have impressed in defense. I believe they’ll see this out (hope this doesn’t come to bite me!).

17th February 2024 at 7:29 pm #212655A point, will that swing it back towards Liverpool or Arsenal.
The luck was always going to run out for Spurs, canβt count how many times they have come from behind to win this season.

17th February 2024 at 7:33 pm #212656Winning 5-0 is definitely staying in it.
I was so worried that was going to be a penalty for City because of the “movement towards the ball”. the player is very clearly not trying to handle it. it just happened.. thank christ they weren’t idiots anyway, is all I can say.
It’s amazing thats Chelsea weren’t battered by what is honestly now just a disgusting squad, built by more than a decade of financial doping. I dunno, I get kinda annoyed by it when I see them in action. All I see a cheat code team now. No offense to the genuine City fans on here or out there in the world. I’m only talking about the entity who’ve taken over and honestly ruined your club.

17th February 2024 at 7:40 pm #212658“Carragher has just commented that βhe feels like itβs comingβ. I beg to differ.”
I agree with you Nil, but this is what you get when you sell out. This isn’t Carra’s opinion, it’s just the creation of a headline for Sky. I don’t like Sky and how they carry on. They are cheap drama peddlers. I think they do a few things right but for the money that they have, this is the best that they can do? … weak sauce.
As for the feeling like it’s coming… Looking at that City team, you wonder how WE will beat them when we bring them to Anfield. Chelsea were able to sit back and take their chances better. I don’t know if that’s us. I think we’re great at beating the rest of the PL (outside the top few) but we’ve not clicked into top gear besides I think 2-3 games this season, and I’m being generous.
We’re good at dispatching most teams in our current gear but I don’t see how we beat this City team without improving… and they have still got their winning run in them. We do also but what if we lose at Anfield? What if we don’t improve against the top clubs?
we need to drop into 5th gear and look like we can maintain it, before I’ll say that it feels like anything.
That sell-out is just trying to stir up some feelings for his employers. He doesn’t feel anything.

17th February 2024 at 7:43 pm #212660Pep Guardiola has dropped 2 points and let’s be frank, Chelsea deserved 3 or at the bare minimum a draw. Sky pour syrup over Haaland and City like they are vacuuming for them to score.
Only a brief encounter and handshake with Mo Po and he deserved better than that.
It’s in Liverpool’s hands but Arsenal really look Ultra Sharp and unstoppable.
Let’s see the media reaction on this.

17th February 2024 at 7:46 pm #212661Mak, your first paragraph has taken everything out of my mouth haha π It’s a compliment. Gets a bit too in your face sometimes, so I end up calling it out.
I must admit though when I watched the lunchtime game on TNT we had it pretty good coverage.

17th February 2024 at 7:53 pm #212664Alfie, spurs cant defend. Good players but concede fair to many goals
Stevo, Arsenal look the strongest defensively chum. Rice has made such a difference. Still some tough games. Still strongly fancy city

17th February 2024 at 7:57 pm #212665I will admit that it’s City I’ve been paying attention to, in terms of worrying on who might beat us to the title, but Arsenal are refusing to drop away. I’m with you, Sean. City strong favourites but today puts it back in our hands, at least.
this weekend was all we could have hoped for TBH.

17th February 2024 at 8:12 pm #212666Yep, true Sean. I just need them to drop a few more points, and then Villa to follow suit.
Mind you, we wonβt beat Luton tomorrow so it will all be in vain anyway.

18th February 2024 at 8:56 am #212668Jones out for the season and jota two months. Two very important players. We have dealt with injuries well this season but it will catch up with us soon
Chelsea have shown this season they can be very good at times. City had enough chances to win. Very good game

18th February 2024 at 10:39 am #212669Injuries and absences have been the story of our season Sean. You only have to take Salah’s example in rejoining us yesterday for the first time since New Years Day.
We only have to ask the question of whether this has derailed our season and thankfully god bless, we’re still fighting on 4 fronts.
Incredible when this is a Liverpool 2.0 and when we can’t necessarily spend heavy like 50-60 million.
Endo was an unsung hero yesterday; gives Macca license to support the attack. We have players who have stepped in when needed and that in itself is kudos to our squad collectively.

18th February 2024 at 11:04 am #212671We didnt miss salah nil mate. We have done extremely well this season considering all the changes.
Have to say last few weeks is the first time ive really taken arsenal really seriously. They are a very good team and are so strong defensively. City and Arsenal are better then us at the back. We give away to many chances compared to those two.Endo has been brilliant but rodri/rice are just unreal and rice has made a huge difference
We will really see what Arsenal are made of when they go to city and if they can keep key players fit

18th February 2024 at 12:29 pm #212672Sean, I’ve just watched the MOTD highlights; enjoyed and beats Sky sometimes.
Jota’s injury looks bad; unfortunate collision with the weight of the Brentford player landing. Hope he gets well soon.
I’m happy having Salah back and we need him mate at this crucial part of the season.
Cup Final next weekend. I must say was impressed with Chelsea yesterday; will be a cracking game hopefully.
Watched Arsenal and Odegaard is an inspiration for them; he’s the Leader they’ve missed. Plus players have stepped up. Saka not even out of 2nd gear, it’s frightening.
Could be them that win it with Liverpool finishing a close 2nd and City finishing 3rd.
