31st January 2021 at 4:27 pm #174644Yeah if I was putting money on it Sean I would say a draw too.
Nil realistically I don’t think Leicester are title contenders City are and maybe United as well as Liverpool.
It’s beginning to looks like a three horse race now with those chasing City hoping they slip up even though City have only lost 2 games all season but you just never know.
Liverpool need the win today they can’t afford to fall further behind City and a West Ham win would elevate West Ham to being a point above Liverpool and Liverpool being potentially 10 points behind City should City win the game in hand and with an inferior goal difference it could be very hard to pull that back.
Despite the enforced changes on Liverpool and although I see a draw as possibly favourite,I think the above might be the motivation Liverpool need to take all the points that and the fact Liverpool were looking a lot better in the week v Spurs.
Liverpool will have to defend the set pieces though very well today to get all 3 points.

31st January 2021 at 6:10 pm #174650Fabulous from Liverpool and Salah that’s why they are Champions. Two difficult away games on the back of a poor run but Liverpool pick up all 6 points.
It sets next weekends game up at Anfield v City nicely.

31st January 2021 at 6:45 pm #174653Hugely Appreciate of the Win and 3 points and nice to indulge into a nice cup of Tea.
No fixture’s a gimme. We’ve spoken many times on here of this and the fans in absence if anything has upped the ratio of away victories. The final day of January. What a long month it’s been and a spell just after Christmas that the team had to endure and by no means was it pleasant with the accentuation of injuries.
Back to back wins can allow us to enjoy and feel more relaxed.
Is that Goal Of The Season or is that Goal Of The Season 🙂 🙂 🙂
YEAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

31st January 2021 at 6:45 pm #174654AnonymousForwards and midfielders who can score goals that’s what makes the difference between great teams and winners. The reason why the most expensive players are the very regular goal scorers.

31st January 2021 at 6:49 pm #174656Mikus, what timing from Klopp though to bring on Jones. In fairness to Milner, he’s getting on now and the miles just aren’t there for the whole of 90 minutes.
Jones has balance and he’ll strive to run at defenders and try and open up the game and create something.
The 2nd goal was what we needed.

31st January 2021 at 8:07 pm #174658It was Nil, though I think it would have been better if he had started. Playing a more defensive line up first, then bringing on more attacking ones later strikes me as being the wrong way around. It seems to work out a lot better if you play to your strengths with your opening line up, then bring on more defensive players once you’ve got a reasonable lead. It worked out well in the end today, but that was because Salah was on absolute fire.

31st January 2021 at 8:33 pm #174659Mikus, I do wholeheartedly agree to an extent. The flip side of that however is Jurgen thinking about bringing on Freshness after the first half (which was the case today).
Both combinations in fairness can work Mikus, good suggestion that would work for us at home; even better with attendance of our Supporters.
Cheers

31st January 2021 at 9:29 pm #174661Sean, and Liverpool lads.
Top performance from Salah and an easy win. Sets up next weekend. We could lose at Burnley and then one point in it.If you watched Spurs….they were poor in my opinion.
Tottenham have won just three of their last 13 Premier League games in which Harry Kane has not featured, and none of their last four (D1 L3). As Pep once said “Harry Kane team “

1st February 2021 at 9:05 am #174667Nine…..Pep has stated they will drop points but he will measure the team on how well they respond. It is going to be a hard run in for the teams involved, at this stage would not like to say who will win it, City will be close though. We need another strong performance against Burnley, if, as predicted heavy snow by Wednesday . I do not live far from Burnley and it can be a bit rough in that area

1st February 2021 at 11:29 am #174670Brian, I agree it’s very difficult to predict who will win the title in such a topsy turvy season with so many games still to play.
City are rightfully favourites given their points lead, superior goal difference and game in hand which is Burnley away on Wednesday night which is no gimme as Burnley can on their day be very tricky.
Big week for City this week with Burnley and Liverpool away, if City can come through those games reasonably unscathed then the 1-4 odds on for City to win the title will get even meaner.😊
