Cityboy, you would expect city to kill the gane at 1-0. Huge credit to utd though. They look a very solid side now. Top 4 and any cuo be huge fir ten hagg in his first season.

14th January 2023 at 8:29 pm #202950CM I’m one of the few liverpool fans that actually agree with you regarding Thiago. We are slowly transitioning from a energy team to a technical team and his signing was the start of it. If you play him and Fabinho together you need a world class energy player along side them which Henderson sadly isn’t anymore and Elliot is tactical suicide.

14th January 2023 at 9:00 pm #202953Threeps, we played Thiago as a ten today and had none of the ball and got danced on. Thisgo has won more tackles then fabhino and Henderson combined in last two games. Thiago was instrumental in last seasons run. I donβt agree and heβs been our best midfielder by far. Running, tackling, passing.
He wasnβt in midfield today for the 1st half and we hardly touched the ball
Btw cm is a utd fan lol
At least we cant blame Elliot and NuΓ±ez today lol

14th January 2023 at 9:06 pm #202955That Fernandes goal is an absolute joke. Rashford 100% interferes with the City defence’s decision making. No way should that have been allowed. Did it actually get reviewed by VAR or was it all handled by the onfield refs?

14th January 2023 at 9:09 pm #202956Sean, yes he’s been our best midfielder but look beyond personal performances and what it means for the team. He changes the system, the style, the freedom of others. Same with Nunez but you think I just have an agenda against him which i dont, i dont like the direction his signing is taking us. Elliot can be a player for us but it depends on what team Klopp puts out.
I said before the season started that Haaland would score a shed load but City would be a worse team than last season. Ronaldo was the best striker at Utd but the worst player to have on the pitch. Football is never about individuals it’s about the team.

14th January 2023 at 9:20 pm #202958Ye I do look at the team mate and thisgo was a huge part of a team that nearly won every trophy going less then 8 months ago.
I know itβs not about individuals. Nunrz or Thiago are not the reason we have been so poor this season in my opinion. I hear itβs all the midfields fault yet we have individuals at the back making basic mistakes todsy for goal 1 and 3.

14th January 2023 at 9:21 pm #202959Ok, so I’ve had a chance to view the first goal and that shouldn’t have stood.
Looks like at best an inadvertent ‘loophole’ but the intent when the ball played was for Rashford, which played out like a ‘decoy and dummy’. Can we insert a new law called ‘Common Sense Please’ lol π

You contradicted yourself in one sentence, saying its not about individuals then defending individuals. Tells me you still aren’t getting what I’m saying.
Mistakes, again from individuals, happen for a reason. Extra pressure from supporters, extra stress etc. To me it’s because they are put in such situations to make mistakes more often do due the tactical debacle and its a vicious circle.

14th January 2023 at 9:35 pm #202961Not real point going over the same ground. I was at work accompanied by a nice guy who’s a Chelsea fan and we had the BBC Score Service on with us. Brighton was hard to take. I’ve learned though personally, I’m better coping than I was in my more younger days. Nice to have one or two good girlfriends to speak to to take my mind off it all haha π π
I just can’t fully grasp whether we were pressing or how Tiago Alcantara was an integral part of our dynamic. The real unfortunate fact is that we all age. Some get better some worse. Footballers a little like Vehicles as to when they are thrashed, they’re not quite the same.
I know every team has injuries, but I am genuinely still optimistic as to what we could do once Jota, Diaz, and Firmino are back.
No no no no no no no no no no no no. Please: Jurgen is Godfather and our Statue of Liberty/Liverpool. We can’t always have it good in life and these matches unfortunately are played like 200 miles an hour so they are just so much more demanding. That was I believe the whole philosophy behind the theory of Gegenpressing. Pep’s High Press; Basically our lovely wonderful Guy Sadio Mane was an instrumental part of that and now we dearly miss him. You consume less energy because you’re not covering as many parts of the grass repeatedly over the course of 90+ minutes.
I like Brighton anyway, Brentford and Nottingham Forest.
My faith is Restored that The English League will always be the BEST LEAGUE and no Super League will be formed to take that away from US π π π
Beejay, get your Weetabix in mate; you’ve got a big day ahead of you tomorrow π

14th January 2023 at 9:38 pm #202962Just on that ‘goalgate’ weirdly, I just thought of a certain Top Top Top Dog Hernan Crespo in Chelsea Colours versus Arsenal when he was tying his Shoelaces and I think he was a decoy not interfering with play lol π That was on Match Of The Day I’m sure either 2002 or 2003 π

14th January 2023 at 11:30 pm #202965Just seen the utd City highlights and although I had a giggle at Adlabs comments I agree with him it shouldn’t have counted. I understand the rules but the rules themselves are for offside are just simply illogical. If you are offside but still affecting play like Rashford clearly was then you are offside in my opinion.
For the record the Salah goal the other day should have been chalked off but the rule makers seem to have removed common sense from the decision. Was again an incident I understand why it was given just think it shouldn’t have been.

14th January 2023 at 11:46 pm #202966Three p’s I get it mate. However I use the point of Karma and Rodri’s handball v Everton; so let Manchester City suffer. If I’m beyond my honesty, I don’t like any of these Teams, I resent them full stop. It’s hard to praise and having to encounter and deal with day-to-day. Sometimes I wish Liverpool would escape and go some place else or even step down a league. Forget all this tirade once and for all.

15th January 2023 at 4:41 am #202968Nil we can all still talk about football and incidents freely, even teams we don’t like. I’m not feeling sorry for City they are the last team I ever would do but just saying how I saw it.

15th January 2023 at 7:13 am #202969Liverpool should aim to get Declan Rice in imo.
I believe Thiago is a quality player, I just donβt think he suits Kloppβs football. He is a Pep type of player rather than a Klopp type of player.
But I also agree with Sean, Liverpools problems seem bigger than that.
