15th January 2023 at 4:48 pm #203000Makes me think we could be in for a surprise of and or Brighton/Brentford to finish with a Europa League Spot.

15th January 2023 at 4:53 pm #203001Anybody else notice how refreshing it is to see the patience more than anything with the way the Gunners pass the ball and take their time in build up. Ok, the downside is that it allows Spurs to regroup and get back in numbers, but it shows that you don’t necessarily have to deliver the game at 100 miles an hour all the time and ‘press’.

15th January 2023 at 5:07 pm #203002That’s absolutely breathtaking – beautifully drilled, hard, low and 100% Accurate. This is a team that is oozing Confidence.

15th January 2023 at 5:27 pm #203003Hard to see anyone catching Arsenal now. That’s not a sentence I envisaged saying at the start of this season π

15th January 2023 at 5:29 pm #203004City, for me, still have a chance purely because they have to play Arsenal twice still as well as the fact we don’t really know what this Arsenal’s bottle is like. Will they keep their nerve on the run-in?

15th January 2023 at 5:39 pm #203005Ed, perhaps it was Pep’s expression ‘in the heat of the moment’ or to get reporters etc off his back, but I personally found it absolutely surprising for anybody at this stage of the season to concede. Purely because we’re middle January and there’s so much football to be played. Like you rightly point out, there’s still the head-to-heads to be played. I feel those meetings could be definitive as to where the Title will head.

15th January 2023 at 5:50 pm #203006Nil, Pep didn’t concede the title he said he didn’t care about the title or the League Cup.
Pep confirmed in his sit down after match interview that he wasn’t conceding the title and why would he still 2 head to heads to go and look how Arsenal crumbled at the end of last season when favourites for a CL place the pressure will be far greater in a title run in especially if the gap gets closer.
To be fair though Arsenal have been magnificent so far this season.

15th January 2023 at 6:05 pm #203007Nobody has really made any difference in the second half. Richarlison comes on late and now we see more subs when we’re 75 mins into the game.

15th January 2023 at 6:30 pm #203008WOW! Those Celebrations to their Supporters at the Away end look like Triumph in winning the Title. Surreal. I actually believe they’ll go all the way and end a 19 year wait.

15th January 2023 at 7:34 pm #203009Arsenal celebrated cause they beat their rivals away from home for the first time on 9 years. They fully deserve to be applauded and go to the fans. Excellent performance
Still 20 games to go. Arsenal keep proving me wrong but 8 points is nothing with 20 games left and they play city twice. They keep proving me wrong and I hope they do it now
Also I concede to Ed in my defence of conte! Spurs are terrible. Conte moans about money yet doesnβt play sone of his signings. Horrible to watch. They canβt defend either. Utd made the right choice by the looks of it now so spot on Ed!

15th January 2023 at 7:50 pm #203010The two City Arsenal games will be pivotal. City can’t win the league with those games, but they can certainly lose it.

15th January 2023 at 8:22 pm #203011That’s it Sean. Conte has bottled every single big game this season. They’re crumbling now after looking almost certs for a CL spot. So unlike a Conte team of old. I just feel Conte is in a very similar position to Mourinho in that the game seems to have passed them both by. Certainly in England at least. Conte could probably still do a decent job in Italy but I just wouldn’t want him managing my club.

15th January 2023 at 9:11 pm #203012Last post to bore you with on the subject. Having spent 40 years interpreting legislation and advising clients (on the whole successfully) I decided to look at Law 11 and attempt an unbiased interpretation.
Law 11
Players in an offside position can also be offside if the referee decides that the player:Is causing interference or obstruction with an opponent.
Prevents the opponent from playing the ball.
Deceives or distracts an opponent.
Gains an advantage from where the ball rebounds off the goal post or an opposing defender. The high bar of proof beyond reasonable doubt clearly cannot apply to this law. More likely the lower bar – the balance of probability.
The referee has to decide whether the offside player falls into one of the above, eg distracting an opponent. Clearly some think yes and some think no. It is therefore up to the referee to decide as their is only subjective interpretation. So we would then look to experts who again are divided.
City fans say offside others perhaps not. My view Rashford was detracting defendersBut it’s up to the ref.
PS Pep’s comment was right in my view (remember) this is Old Trafford….meaning the decision goes in United’s favour.
That’s it. On to the next game

15th January 2023 at 9:31 pm #203013Nine, you come across as correcting me mate; don’t really appreciate that. I forwarded a link in Pep Conceding Title. Daily Mail I get would read that as they do being themselves. Little bit of Respect; don’t mind the laugh, but sometimes it really comes across as you laughing at me than with me. I Truly Deserve More Than That.

15th January 2023 at 9:39 pm #203015Adlab, that goal should have been disallowed as with Rodri’s V’s Everton. Admit to that my friend and you would be a Gentleman. You can’t have your cake and eat it. Tired of bias and dishonesty here. Be Truthful.
