Difficult to know where to start the Argentinian Centre Back Martinez was a poor selection today given Brentford’s physicality. Next game v Liverpool is a massive challenge now.

13th August 2022 at 8:33 pm #197607Adlab, the answer is to simply work with the current stock of players and stick at it for a lengthy period of time. Only then Teg Hag and his coaching staff are able to identify strengths and deficiencies, then rebuild from there.
You can’t wave a magic wand at it and just wipe away the entire squad.
Was the basics or what missing today that was in need of a Steve Bruce and a Dennis Irwin!

13th August 2022 at 9:53 pm #197609If DeJong watched the last two matches you have to wonder why we would want to join Utd? One player is not going to change this team. Like ETH he would need a new supporting cast as well. Clearly the squad cannot play the system the Manager wants but that is more like the players are not good enough not so much the Managers fault, then he must have known this from the start
For my daughters sake I hope they improve cannot stand all the crying!!!!

13th August 2022 at 10:32 pm #197610That’s it Brian, any kind of hope De Jong will come now you’d think is dead in the water. I mean when Rodgers came into Liverpool, we also had an awful start and think we were in the relegation zone for a while. But there were very much characters in the dressing room with players like Gerrard, Carragher, Suarez, etc, and they started rising up the table fairly quickly. But this Utd team have been together a while and shown very little in the way of character. Hard to see things improving with this lot.

14th August 2022 at 7:31 am #197614Haaland completed just two passes in the entire game – the lowest total for a City player under Guardiola. He also only had 8 touches of the ball, the record low is 7 by Lukaku.

14th August 2022 at 8:22 am #197615One was an assist though – which is one more than the whole man Utd team

14th August 2022 at 9:37 am #197616Sure just saying, I do believe Haaland will be a force despite an average start.

14th August 2022 at 9:56 am #197617Rover. But one point about Haaland. There were three Bournemouth players on him at times and that opened up a great deal of space for KDB and Gundagon etc

14th August 2022 at 10:13 am #197618I don’t remember it vividly from growing up, but even in the mid 80s etc, at least United put up a fight and they had one special Captain Marvel.
This United is at the lowest of the low to be beaten like this.
Liverpool too have had their lows. Essentially all clubs will go through this.
Rather than continue to fall apart, they have to pick themselves up, regroup and really stick together.

14th August 2022 at 10:15 am #197619Maybe that’s a back-handed compliment and Pep anticipated that. If Haaland’s surrounded, that frees up space for the others to exploit. JD.

14th August 2022 at 11:19 am #197620Rover..re Haarland…like I said previously. Bournmouth must have had 2/3 watching him…that leaves spaces for our midfielders …who did there job…so did Harland. He is just settling in, I am not a believer in the statistical game..just look at results…that is the only one that matters…win or loose

14th August 2022 at 11:21 am #197621Lovely goal by De Bruyne yesterday, it really does look business as usual with City. Arsenal looking good too it has to be said – whilst I have doubts about Arteta at the top level, there seems a close knit group of hungry players there and it looks a good foundation to build on, and the few players theyβve signed are certainly building on it. Theyβre certainly in a better shape and position to Utd who have tried to do the same but I think have been all over the place with their recruitment.
