There’s still been a significant drop off though Sean this season. In 2012/13 for example when Man Utd last won the title, and in 2014/15 when Chelsea won, both sides had 46 points at the half way mark (after 19 games). This season, Leicester would still be 8 points adrift of those sides if that was now. So these teams need to be taking advantage of the situation.

Many many years ago I wrote a post on the site that shall not be named, where I compared footballers to women, the gist was that the technical players were the supermodels and although they’re great to be seen out with you still need Aggie, Kim and the two fat ladies to cook and clean for you. This is where I see Chelsea at the moment, the academy/youth set ups are producing high quality, technical players, what we need is a bit of old fashioned grit to compliment them, for me they need to be scouting that kind of player from the Championship and below…..Pagan

Sean you clearly don’t understand the rules, the City player only became active when he got involved in the play and by that time an Aston Villa player had touched the ball he was not in an offside position. It was 100% correct decision but it’s tough on Villa cause both teams have been brilliant and what an enjoyable game of football.

Wonderful game of football. A credit to both teams in those conditions. I think we deserved the three points but Villa are a quality outfit and play football in a ‘pleasing on the eye’ way.
At least it’ll piss off Rio and Savage 😃.
Must say, until I saw Blaze’s explanation, I was going to post that I’d be very disappointed if that first goal had been given against City, but cheers Blaze for the reasoning – I certainly wasn’t aware of that aspect of the offside rule.
Another three points and a another clean sheet – onwards and upwards Blues.
