Blaze…Notts Forrest v City….I think Coton was City keeper, not sure forget who the Forrest player was. Mings new the City player twas there twice and looked twice, his mind not on the job. The rule is still not right but perfectly right as interpreted but and needs to be modified , if not, my view is the whole pitch is the fireld of play…scrap the offside in it present form

21st January 2021 at 5:22 pm #174099Good memory Brian
I remember it well. It was Andy dibble in goal and Gary Crosby off forest who headed the ball out of his hand

21st January 2021 at 5:57 pm #174102The offside rule has to be as it is, the attacking player canβt be offside until he becomes active or interferes with play, the defender deliberately touches the ball and as such it becomes the next phase of play.
It does happen more often than you think, imagine the ball being played forward and the defender tries a back pass with his first touch and thereβs a player between him and the goal at the time the original ball is played forward. Deliberately is important as even if the defender slices the ball he meant to play it, should the ball skim off the top of his head as heβs running back then that would be offside.
Brian, itβs Nottingham Forest and Notts County, they get quite touchy about that in these here parts…..Pagan

21st January 2021 at 9:00 pm #174111Liverpool arenβt scoring here.
Origi just has to score that especially on a game were we be lucky to get one more clear cut chance

21st January 2021 at 9:12 pm #174112Origi should have left after the European Cup. Thought he may still prove useful but he’s just a cult player. Can spring up with an important goal now and again, but over the course of a season, he’s just no where near good enough.

21st January 2021 at 9:42 pm #174114Well, top 4 the target now. This team has been running on fumes far too long now. Bound to lose at home at some point.

21st January 2021 at 10:02 pm #174115Utd move just ahead of Liverpool into second favourites for the league after City.
Thing is, Liverpool beat City at Anfield in a few weeks then the title race is right back on and I don’t see any of the likes of Utd, Leicester, Spurs lasting the distance up and around City either. City still easily favourites but Liverpool aren’t out of this, by a long way.

21st January 2021 at 10:07 pm #174116What a strange season this is. Who could have predicted a run of form like this from Liverpool.
Massive effort from Burnley they’re a very well organised team and always give it everything and are capable of results like this.
Tough situation for Klopp to sort out so many players off form.

21st January 2021 at 10:11 pm #174118Ed, you’re right but playing like Liverpool are currently with so many players out of form it looks unlikely right now.

21st January 2021 at 10:15 pm #174119No chance Mikus. Nothing left after the other day π
Didn’t realise Liverpool had such a tough run after this. 2 tough away games at Spurs and West Ham then Brighton followed by City. If you can keep pace with City until then, a win closes the gap to 4. Still all to play for
