Imagine someone telling you before a ball was kicked this season that Arsenal would be 15 points ahead of Liverpool after 12 games!

29th October 2022 at 9:53 pm #200420Can’t see Klopp being sacked as such Ed, and he’s obviously a great coach. But this is another rebuild job now, and if we don’t make top 4 (which is looking less and less likely) its going to be a more difficult and longer rebuild. Has Klopp got the energy for that? I saw some of this coming this season but didn’t think it would be quite as bad as this. Just feeling like another Klopp 7 year cycle could be coming to an end. Not addressing an aging and injury prone midfield over summer was a catastrophic mistake.

29th October 2022 at 10:03 pm #200421This season is done and we’re a lost cause. Jurgen Klopp can no longer get a tune out of us.
Football felt like a solid 5 hours. My Saturday Evening Ruined (What did I do to Deserve that?!)
No Top 4, no Nothing in Essence.
Every Opposition Can Beat Us.

29th October 2022 at 10:05 pm #200423You may be right Mikus. I just feel we’ve been here before with Klopp. Those 6 games or whatever it was where they lost at home when they had all those CB injuries. All the same stuff was said then but the season after Liverpool were fighting for every trophy going again. They’ve just won a cup double. Absolutely crazy to think of him not being given chance to put this right. As you say, different matter entirely as to whether he has the appetite for another rebuild, but it is surely his choice and his alone in that case.

29th October 2022 at 10:19 pm #200424To be honest Ed, that period a few seasons back we lost 6 games – I still think it was also more down to the form of the attack back then who just looked tired. But it just needed time to recover as there was still enough in the tank overall for it to come good again. Whereas the situation we face now looks more serious. Midfield is aging and injury prone and just looks spent. The attack is going through a transition with Firmino aging, and Nunez is looking very raw still. Diaz is injured and Salah is blowing hot and cold. Defence could come good again but its hard to lift yourself when things are as they are.
We could limp to January and hope to perhaps bring in some midfielders – but then, it’s going to be a harder sell then to bring them in to an average team. This is the problem of supposedly waiting to sign Bellingham next season. You can’t wait around in this climate of big spending clubs.

29th October 2022 at 10:44 pm #200427Look at the squad, depth, injuries especially to key players, number of games played through October as against that of your direct opposition and there you have it. Liverpool struggling, Chelsea struggling. Both focusing on Champions League. Leeds and Brighton the whole week to prepare for the weekend. With this World Cup in November thing and the ridiculous expectation to compete in so many matches something has to give against these clubs focusing on just the Premiership and it has. I’ve said for weeks that 38 year old Thiago Silva will suffer from too much work. Today it caught up with him big time. Same with others in the side hence Potters’ massive changes and risk taking with some weird selections that are coming unstuck. I am assuming Liverpool are also suffering similarly PLUS Mane being a massive loss for them. Don’t expect much of a recovery this season as the upcoming World Cup takes it’s toll before the ride home next year when the damage for this season has already been done. United Tottenham and Arsenal have had their moments too and I’m expecting all three to weaken as the season progresses. City are untouchable and will end up way clear at the top come May.

29th October 2022 at 10:46 pm #200428Nunez is Absolute Rubbish for the money we spent. The Money we Spent on Sadio back in 2016 and we let him go, bringing in this. Why are we accommodating him?!

29th October 2022 at 10:51 pm #200430Gudday Nil. Hope you are well buddy. I am similarly rattled by Chelsea’s situation and can only put it down to all the points raised in my above post. I have been thinking it all through October and today it all came home to roost.

29th October 2022 at 10:54 pm #200431Nil, I think spending all that on Nunez but not addressing the midfield was like buying a raw power supercar but ignoring the subsidence in your house.

29th October 2022 at 11:38 pm #200433Mikus, absolutely. The player is relying on Service to put the ball in the back of the net. Ever since the head-butt, he’s gone from trying too hard to trying too hard and not working out for us. He’s not really a Team Player I must say.

30th October 2022 at 6:29 am #200434Although its still early and one can expect different scenarios after the world cup looks very much like a top 4 of City, Arsenal, United and either Newcastle or Spurs. Although Spurs and Newcastle don’t really have many top players in their squads for now so they could change with Liverpool and maybe Chelsea as the season goes on.

30th October 2022 at 8:13 am #200435Klopp looks tired he won’t be sacked but it will depend on his appetite for a rebuild and how much FSG are prepared to invest in a rebuild.
The 3 games a week is affecting Chelsea and the squad is struggling to cope with it especially given the injuries to key players playing Sterling and Pulasic as wing backs doesn’t work in the PL but there’s no replacement for James.
Some thinking for Potter to do but he’s overseen a good run with just one defeat and Rome wasn’t built in a day.
The squad needs a revamp which won’t be easy. Top 4 looks unlikely and even getting in the Europa League looks difficult but maybe a season without European football next season will help the redevelopment of the team under Potter.

30th October 2022 at 8:54 am #200437Costa back in the pl and red card β¦ might be his first but he should have had several from previous years, hateful man shouldnβt be playing at all
Not a bad weekend from an Arsenal perspective with pool and Chelsea losing tho pool really should have won and didnβt play badly but those individual errors keep happening
City doing enough but very unlucky to Leicester played well
Spuds very lucky but probably deserved over all and Newcastle just playing very well snd solid very happy for the manager and he is showing what we all asked if he could do outside of Bournemouth.
None if it will matter if we donβt beat forest and we havenβt played well now for a good few games so not as confident as Iβd like! But a win for us snd west ham getting something and very good weekend could be had !

30th October 2022 at 9:21 am #200439I certainly think we deserved it overall against the Cherries… it was obvious from the get-go they were playing for the 0-0 and challanging us to break them down (which is a fair tactic!) and started employing the dark arts about 30 secs after we gifted them the opener… which is quite ironic as the the right side yesterday was Royal and Sanchez… about as weak as you can get from our squad…
Nevermind Nil, you’re playing us next week, we’re brilliant at given teams freebies and confidence boosters, I’d be expecting a win and “Kloop turns season around” headlines come full-time.
