It was a very tired performance last night. For their second goal two simple passes bypassed our lines far too easily. There was little closing down when they had the ball, we just seemed to back off them. And there seemed to be no awareness of where the opposition players were until it was too late. Again Salah helps bail us out. Weβve got to add a few in January now. I always thought it strange that no major signing was made in the summer when the new manager came in. We only bought Chiesa (injury issues) and a goalkeeper (for next season).

5th December 2024 at 11:35 pm #216681Ye harry thats what i mean mate. Team who concede least goals usually does win it
Exactly threeps, lets see in feb were everyone is. Wr have done brilliantly so far and we are missing a host of players
Mikuis, gravenberch looked exhausted and you could that in the first 5 mins. I agree with you that we need a 6 as grav needs a rest and slot does not trust endo at all
I also think elliot is not rated by slot as shown by lackof minutes at start of season.Nunez will go.
Jao pedro be a good shout for number 9 and is a perfect for a false nineBeat everton and 7 from 9 points be an excellent return from these 3 games.

6th December 2024 at 5:42 am #216683Joao Pedro is an excellent shout for a false 9, still only 23 years old. For the way Slot plays I don’t think a Nunez type doesn’t suit even if Nunez did improve his composure. I think either a tricky, creative player that gets involved in the build up or a larger player that can hold up the ball for our wide and central players to play off is more suited. Must be creative and good technique. Cuhna from Wolves also could fit the bill.
Could do a double swoop at Brighton for Pedro and Baleba, I believe he is having a great season. I don’t think an out and out DM like Ugate would suit our style, but a more mobile with good passing would compliment Gravenberch allowing MacAllister to play further up the pitch.

6th December 2024 at 9:38 am #216684The Premier League for the Neutral as it stands is just at a brilliant and a really competitive stage. I honestly wouldn’t have predicted those outcomes from last night; Brighton! I expected a little bit more.
Injuries I believe all round possibly playing part.
It’s not only the repetition game after game but my biggest annoyance subsequently after a bad result from the top is the word “bottlers”.
There’s 25 or so matches and it’s absolute madness not to think points will be dropped along the line. No game is straight forward. Happy overall to be where we are.
I like Darwin a lot but let’s be honest, he’s not the 20 goal guy we hoped for. Salah has gave us so much recently you would think an auto blank-cheque to secure his services for a little bit longer.
We need definitely somebody new at the Top. Hope our Sporting Director is in talks with Slot about future possibilities to strengthen us. We can’t be expected to lift a title with this squad when we are accumulating injuries.

6th December 2024 at 10:16 am #216685Nil, of course we can, our league position shows that. Injuries are not exclusive to Liverpool, every team has them, and Liverpool have one of the best squads to deal with them. Injuries happen, just look at Spurs currently to make yourself feel better! Out with both their first choice CBs and goalie.
Even the very best title winning teams, the great Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea, or more recently City and Liverpool, didn’t get everything going their way 100% of the time. Enjoy the ride and see where we are at the end.
