Very good win for Leicester I always said if they sacked Rodgers Leicester would struggle to appoint a better Manager.
Much more difficult task for them next Saturday of course v City at the King Power but nobody gave Forest a chance v Liverpool and look what happened.

24th October 2022 at 7:45 am #200300Doesn’t look like anyone is going to be capable of challenging City for the title this season.
Big win for Villa who scored more goals on Sunday than in Gerrard’s previous 6 games?
Newcastle away and United at home is their next 2 games though.

24th October 2022 at 12:09 pm #200302Why has Conte been getting the 3rd degree? Just can’t fathom it.

24th October 2022 at 12:12 pm #200303Nine @ 7:45, disagree with the first one mate. The table is speaking. The competition is a lot stronger so even if City do go onto win it, I can’t see it by such a big margin.
I appreciate all the other factors to take into consideration and weighing those up, the odds would be stacked in their favour, but I am convinced a few others out there have significantly improved and will compete.

24th October 2022 at 12:14 pm #200304Imagine if Mane was to return back to the PL and Newcastle were to sign him? I could actually see that happen.

24th October 2022 at 12:29 pm #200305Nil,
“Why has Conte been getting the 3rd degree? Just can’t fathom it.”
Probably because Spurs have lost 2 games in a row and were very poor v United and lost at home to Newcastle.
“Nine @ 7:45, disagree with the first one mate. The table is speaking. The competition is a lot stronger so even if City do go onto win it, I can’t see it by such a big margin.”
I see the complete opposite they’re all pretenders. Only Liverpool have challenged City in the PL in previous seasons and it’s doubtful they will be in a position to do that this season. Outside of that the rest aren’t up to it.

24th October 2022 at 2:39 pm #200306Nine, we’re land and sky on this one. I’m very surprised by your assertion as ‘pretenders’. Of course you’re entitled to your opinion, but maybe that’s a tad bit disrespectful to those so far delivering the results.
We can’t place Liverpool in that bracket at the moment regardless of previous recent history.

24th October 2022 at 2:40 pm #200307Nine, you can’t get on the Managers back simply for losing 2 games in a row. That’s utter ludicrous. I must be living in a different universe to what I have known and been used to!

24th October 2022 at 3:05 pm #200310I keep telling you guys, nothing is certain, City are not even top at the moment and we will loose games this season, even Ederson tried to score an own goal last week!!!!. I suspect he maybe colour blind passing to the opposition. The season has only just started, now we have the WC Circus then back at a festive time of the year…I suspect a lot will happen and there is no certainty about anything. A long way to go and some teams are closer to City than you think. Cheer up for goodness sake

24th October 2022 at 3:14 pm #200311We have also been conceding more possession in recent games, Liverpool and Brighton latest examples. I do not think this was tactical from City but the opposing team was better. Unlike us but it can be done.

24th October 2022 at 4:15 pm #200312Nil, not sure where your 3rd degree comes from if it’s from Spurs fans I agree with you although the football that Spurs are playing is not what Spurs fans were bought up on but they’ll accept that if they’re winning .
As to the title race the proof of the pudding will be in the eating only 8 points separate the top 6 Chelsea and Newcastle are just 5 points off of City and Newcastle and Chelsea are just 2 points off of Spurs you can’t definitely rule anyone out at this stage and stranger things have happened ie Leicester City but in reality I really can’t see a title winner other than City in that top 6.
The latest SkyBet odds seem to confirm that too.
Manchester City
1/5
Arsenal
6/1
Liverpool
28/1
Chelsea
33/1
Tottenham
40/1
Manchester Utd
66/1
Newcastle
100/1_____________________________

24th October 2022 at 5:20 pm #200315Yeah nine, to appease Brian, because technically he is right, City are not certainties for the league, however bookies reckon its 83% likely and I don’t disagree.

24th October 2022 at 6:44 pm #200316Why do we need to discuss every week the Title race, but then laud and hand it to Manchester City anyway? Year in year out on this website, it really gets boring and fatigue.

24th October 2022 at 6:49 pm #200317Nobody is making you join that discussion Nil 😁. You’re welcome to put forward other suggestions also if you think anyone other than City has a chance. One thing is certain and that’s that it won’t be Liverpool this time.

24th October 2022 at 7:37 pm #200318Nil…you are biggest contributor….I would not call your remarks boring, predictable maybe and at times fanciful but I always enjoy your posts. Ed…now that will upset Nil!!!!!
I do not rule anybody out and do not care what the bookies say, they quote the odds to get you to part with your money._____________________________

24th October 2022 at 8:06 pm #200319Ed, if not on this very thread I have objectively pointed out who can challenge Manchester City this season. I haven’t hidden my feelings at all that I rather they didn’t win it for the obvious reason of a Manchester dominance and boredom from my personal point of view.
I have been earnest in putting forward the other teams mainly Arsenal that I feel have a genuine challenge for at least the top 3 if not the League.
It’s just my way in following the game week by week and I rarely become drawn into betting odds or buy into analysis. We’re all capable of making our minds up and knowing who the likelihood is realistically. It’s just to make the season more interesting than predictable.
