6th December 2020 at 7:53 pm #171641Just out of curiosity Mak, what were you thoughts on Keane leaving that World Cup? Stupid move or one you respected him for?

6th December 2020 at 8:03 pm #171646Not particularly pleased with Pawson. That just sums up the ‘day-to-day’ attitude of Referee’s. It’s liked they’ve been Brainwashed by ‘Stockley Park’!

6th December 2020 at 8:10 pm #171648Good first half overall. We dropped off a little towards the end and I think the confidence and the application of Wolves grew; fair play, but Coady goes down in my estimation.
I sincerely feel we’ve landed a Blueprint. Something will finally give. He was trying to buy that penalty just because of Mane’s actions and movements presuming that the slightest of contacts would award him a Pen.
This is Paralleled to Craig Pawson who instantly gave it. What had Truly happened to our Referees?
That would have been more than brushed off and if anything, a telling off back in the 1990s. We’ve really become PC. No wonder Home Fans are Bemused and rightly so.

6th December 2020 at 8:11 pm #171649Anonymousjesus lads, Kelleher just feckin caught that cross earlier wtf.

6th December 2020 at 8:14 pm #171650Coady got mocked cussed – what an eejit. No way he’ll be ever welcomed back to Liverpool. Henderson and Fabinho ripped him at the half-time whistle.
Fabinho has so far Bossed TraorΓ©

6th December 2020 at 8:15 pm #171651Really not understanding your problem with the ref nil. It was a crazy thing to do by Mane and I thought it was a pen first viewing in real time. The ref went to the screen, something we all been wanting them to do for ages and pretty quickly change the decision to the correct one. Only thing he didn’t do correct was not issue Coady a yellow for diving. But for me Pawson and VAR did its job well.

6th December 2020 at 8:16 pm #171652Mak, if Mane would have merely brushed Coady, VAR would have given it. I think this incident This Evening is Telling and could possibly be Referred to in future incidents of similarity.
I’m actually beginning to Question the mindsets of the Referees who seem to me to have turned into VAR.

6th December 2020 at 8:16 pm #171653Anonymous“Just out of curiosity Mak, what were you thoughts on Keane leaving that World Cup? Stupid move or one you respected him for?”
I completely agreed with him instantly. His complaints were valid and the irish national team setup was a disgrace.
Keane may be a dirty Utd scumbag (jk, kinda) but he was a professional who was used to working within an organization that was focused on success. The FAI made a laughing stock of us by focusing on their own luxury and not the teams chances. if you were you read up about it (I cant remember enough Im afraid), it was really embarrassing stuff. A bit like how I feel a little bit of sha,me in how so many people voted for Trump, I felt this for so many people backing the FAI over Keane in this instance.
Was keane entirely innocent? absolutely not but I would have done the exact same. Does that make it all right? No it doesnt, there’s an argument that says maybe he should have not gone so far but I can only imagine how shocking our preparations would have been to someone who was used to playing at such a high competitive level.

6th December 2020 at 8:18 pm #171654Too much diving. I hate it.
Never a penalty in a million years. Henderson should look at his own though before criticising others. Mane, Salah should cut it out too. All teams have divers. I think Kane dives too often. S
We have a few who go over too easily. All do. But I hate it. Its cheating._____________________________

6th December 2020 at 8:18 pm #171655AnonymousAgree, threeps and yes Coady wasnt booked why? That’s the definition of simulation.
its a clear example and yet he gets away with it. why? he’s trying to con the ref and there’s no other way about it. why is he not booked?
as for the real time of it, ya I was worried as hell.

6th December 2020 at 8:20 pm #1716563ps, Pawson Signaled on his first reaction towards the Spot. What he could have done is blow the Whistle to Stop Play and head towards the Monitor.

6th December 2020 at 8:22 pm #171657Anonymousand yes, when I talk about keane I am biased. i think him being a Utd player counters the bias enough for me to remain objective but he is from literally 1 mile up the road from me. down here we’re very proud of Keane and that is regardless of his club. he’s got the grit and the fight and really apeals to the people down here. We are rightly or wrongly nicknamed Rebel County. The actual origins for that may not be as good as people think though. (it is considered to be from the times of british resistance.. Michael Collins etc etc but I think it goes back further and might not actually be as romantic as that.. Im not entirely sure)

6th December 2020 at 8:23 pm #171658Because he thought it was a pen Nil, I think most people did. He can’t blow the whistle because he wants to look at the screen, he has to have a reason and he made that in a split second. And he came to the correct decision in a quick and professional way.

6th December 2020 at 8:24 pm #171659Agree Mak, I admire people with such principles and he sacrificed everything because he was looking at the long term and fire a shot against the FAI to wake them up. Ashame because it was a crazy World Cup and Ireland may have got even further than they did, but as I say, the longer term was more important.
