No excuses, nunrz misses a ckear open goal every game. Thatβs Liverpool. Well done Luton. Well deserved draw. 4th is all we are looking at

5th November 2023 at 8:29 pm #210601It’s one of those reverse effects that instills confidence. Nunez to be fair to him had tested the keep a few times in the first half and one of which hit the bar.
He has that many chances, yet he misses them. On another afternoon like Newcastle, he’s absolutely clinical. Something I think with our system and the players occupying it that needs looking at; square pegs round holes.
The team playing a low block packing the 18 yard box is where we struggle, but in this league, you need to take your chances. An early goal in the first half would have set the tone for a cricket score. Maybe a Striker to think about in January.

5th November 2023 at 8:44 pm #210604Nunes has those moments, but whenevers I have seen him play, he has looked quality.
I reckon he will come good. Just needs confidence.

5th November 2023 at 8:57 pm #210605Nil Trent doesn’t “stray” into midfield he’s under direct instructions from Klopp and Ljinders to do so. They are to blame, not Gomez or Trent or whoever else.
CM don’t think Nunez ever lacks confidence, just composure. I think he will always be an inconsistent striker and not what was ever suited to Liverpool. He thrives in space and its very unlikely any team will set up to afford liverpool that.

5th November 2023 at 9:35 pm #210607Three p s, we got caught on the counter and punished. It might well be an instruction from the Manager for Trent, but I do feel we miss Robertson and we definitely in need of a real top quality defender and a Number 6.
Pep lost Gundogen and Mahrez, though signed Kovacic and Doku giving the team more balance. Van Dijk is getting on. I also don’t agree with us playing 4-3-3 if we’re starting both Salah and Nunez. 4-2-3-1 may have worked better.
Nunez missing a handful of chances encourage Luton to continue with their gameplan and they grew in confidence. We’ve seen this pattern of play executed to us in previous eras and facets. Maybe just a bad day at the office and that rescue goal from Diaz saved us from total embarrassment.

6th November 2023 at 5:30 am #2106094231 keeps your wide players out wide and that not where you want Salah. This box midfield 433/3223 also has this issue but that is mitigated by Szoboszlai going out to the right giving Salah space to move more central. Yesterday Luton didn’t give any space for either of those players to execute that.
Robertson has been poor since we introduced this new tactic as it restricts his dynamic play. His role is to transition into a left sided CB with Trent going into a double pivot 6. So no width is provided at all by fullbacks and during our successful seasons he provide a lot down the left.
There are occasions when the box midfield works very well but against a tightly packed low block defence it is easy to defend against. Everything goes through the middle so just block off the space. There’s not much lateral moving of the ball to try and shift the defenders about as there’s no wide players to move the ball to.
I think it’s either stubbornness or arrogance from Klopp and Ljinders that cost points yesterday as they continued with this tactic. I mention Ljinders as this tactic is his baby.

6th November 2023 at 7:12 am #210610We are going to have results like yesterday. We are a team in full transition with 5 midfielders going and 4 coming in
Ed, mane used to miss chances like nunez but nunez misses a clear sitter every game. Like itβs every single game he misses areal sitter. Heβs got 7 goals and 4 assists in 9 starts. He should have at least 5 more goals. His all around game has improved but itβs only 11 games into the pl.
Itβs all about top 4 for us. We have started the season much better then I thought. Just glad we got a draw in the end .

6th November 2023 at 7:21 am #210611Yeah Liverpool will be fine Sean. I said it all through that difficult period you had and I haven’t changed my mind. Even Nunez will be fine. Liverpool create enough chances for his finishing to not need to be great. Top 4 should be no problem with that team. Easily the second best squad in the league and you’ll probably finish second.

6th November 2023 at 7:30 am #210612It’s unprofessionalism, and being complacent; we paid a heavy price. We can’t just turn up and assume automatically everything will fall into place.
Man City will smash them 10-0. We’re not where we should be. I do see in particular on social media fans getting a little too carried away, especially in making comparisons on Gravenberch etc. These players are new and going to be still raw and need a season under their belt. Mane and Gini were just one off signings that clicked and hit the ground running.
We can’t afford to lose to Man City on the 25th.

6th November 2023 at 7:44 am #210613The new signings are doing fine nil. You just need to accept results like this can happen. City lost to wolves, we beat wolves etc. so you know what I mean. Iβm just glad we got the draw. FairPlay to Luton. They out worked us and we were complacent but we are third

6th November 2023 at 8:03 am #210614Luton played their tactics to almost perfection, they won’t be the only team that sets up that way against us.
They deserve credit.

6th November 2023 at 8:55 am #210618It was like a cup tie, but we should have been better prepared. There are going to be places that’s far from safe haven, and we should have done miles better. We needed to gave tried different things to break them down on such a narrow pitch.
Points lost which will now have to be made up some other way and hoping those competing with us will themselves drop points. β½οΈπΉ

6th November 2023 at 5:36 pm #210625Sean, the one thing mate I can put my hand on heart and credit is us fans alone on here. We are honest and usually head first in our own direction when things haven’t quite worked out. I hold my hands up in overthinking it sometimes and going on fault-finding, but that’s only because I felt from y’day a kick in the nuts as of when we played Brighton and it’s frustrating when we not capitalizing.
We’re the first to congratulate Luton and us guys have been here before many times with teams pulling out a shock.
My fault predicting 6-0! Just goes to show you have to try and maintain motivation when playing at this level and be ready.

6th November 2023 at 7:19 pm #210626Son Heung-min – Number 7
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/67065671
4-2-3-1
We should have played this yesterday. One defensive Mid and a quality full-back would have suited us to allow Trent his freedom. Macca is not a number 6 and he and Zobo could have accompanied Salah leaving Darwin Nunez as the main-man.
Anyhow,
Good line up selected by the former Spurs man Pochettino.
Can Chelsea cause an Upset Tonight or will Ange and Spurs continue this wonderful crest of a Wave and return back to the Top Of The Table?

6th November 2023 at 8:32 pm #210631I’m not even a Chelsea fan but by god this is quite frankly nonsensical.
Goal should stand quite frankly. So nuts.
