Nil, Var proved Henderson was offside by the laws of the game, the only doubt is whether the system is accurate enough for measurement that fine…..Pagan

28th November 2020 at 9:25 pm #171085Mak, just my opinion re VAR mate if you or anyone else wants to talk about VAR that’s up to you guys.
Personally I can’t be bothered anymore I don’t think anything will happen on the VAR front this season and if any changes are to take place it won’t be until the Summer when they’re discussed and even then I wouldn’t hold my breath for too much change.
I just think VAR tends to over shadow the football sometimes.
City for instance were great today and scored some wonderful goals and Leeds are breath of fresh air what a wonderful job Bielsa has done there etc etc.
Cheers 9’s

28th November 2020 at 9:34 pm #171088Pagan, Mane wasn’t offside factually leading up to the Henderson goal. The Everton Player played him on.
This is down to a channeled now mindset to just chalk off goals for the sake of do-good.
No Parity from where I’m sitting.

28th November 2020 at 9:43 pm #171090Nil, so why was he given offside? The lines were drawn and that’s what they showed, you have understand that the lines are drawn perpendicular to the touch lines, the freeze frame you see isn’t in line and so the lines can seem to be closer than they actually are.
Don’t forget I’m anti VAR, I’m just saying how it works….Pagan_____________________________

28th November 2020 at 9:45 pm #171091Pagan, every trace of debate/argument isn’t reasonable, from an LFC POV. It smells to me Chelsea want Top Spot. Very Clever.

28th November 2020 at 9:50 pm #171092Lol, Pagan, you’ve answered my Question. Henderson’s Goal was wrongly chalked off.
That’s it.

28th November 2020 at 9:53 pm #171094Nil, the decisions last season were exactly the same as those this season, fortunately for Liverpool they didn’t suffer from any, hence they got dubbed LiVARpool by some, this season they’re getting their fair share and they’re now going through what most clubs fans went through 12 months ago. It was rubbish then and it’s equally rubbish now…..Pagan

28th November 2020 at 9:59 pm #171095Nil, Henderson’s goal was correctly chalked off using the technology we currently have, used in the manner that is prescribed. Like it or not, you wanted VAR and supported it 12 months ago, now you’re going through what most other teams went through last season you don’t like it, well welcome to our world, it’s not good but it’s all we’ve got….Pagan

28th November 2020 at 10:14 pm #171096Connor Gallagher scores the winner for West Brom leaving Sheffield United rooted to the bottom of the table on one point. Still only 20 and one for the future. Back to Chelsea next season???

28th November 2020 at 10:19 pm #171097Pagan I think the livevarpool was a phrase brought up by utd fans mate when we got a few decisions (which were correct are way)
We also got a few againest us one firmino goal v villa was not offside
Pagan, are the lines 100 % accurate mate? Is it the human eye that calls it with the lines or it the technology that tells you it is off? Just asking as I’m not sure.chum

28th November 2020 at 10:22 pm #171099Nine, think sheff Utd in trouble now mate.
Not playing to badly abd just losing goal by odd goal. I just really hope they stick with wilder after everything he’s done
It always ends in tears though. Eddie Howe a prime example

28th November 2020 at 10:23 pm #1711019, why not. For me I’d like to see us have a go at buying Wilson from Liverpool, he was fantastic at Derby when he played with Mount, he had a dip when Mount was injured but was back on form when he returned. If we could get him at a realistic price I think it would be a gamble worth taking….Pagan

28th November 2020 at 10:34 pm #171103Sean, I’m not sure how accurate the lines are, but I would think they would be pretty accurate, that’s the easy part to be honest. I would suggest that the pictures we actually see could be a bit misleading due to parallax error with the cameras not being inline with play, but as I say I would think pretty accurate.
My concern is the frame rate and that it’s only a best guess when the ball moves forward. There’s so many things moving at the same time that no matter how accurate the lines are it’s not possible to freeze the action at exactly the right moment.
I don’t like VAR, but with the evidence it presents all decisions that have been made using it have been correct, the questions for me are, is the evidence accurate enough, and should the events it investigates actually be investigated. VAR should only be used to correct absolute howlers, not for the ridiculous things it does now…..Pagan

28th November 2020 at 10:59 pm #171104Fair point s pagan but is the decision made for offside by the var technology like it is like Hawkeye for the ball crossing the line?
If decision is made by the technology then fair enough but if it’s made by the var ref cause of the mines then it’s not 100 % as the lines aren’t conclusive as it seems sometimes they are trying their best to prove it’s off mate?
It’s creating to many talking points as you said would happen and it’s tuning the game but as nine says, it’s here to stay until reviewed so no point complaining
Still, we are at a point now were it’s stopping us enjoying the game. It’s crap to be honest and I’d like to go back to the old way

28th November 2020 at 11:21 pm #171105Must say, Leeds are very pleasing on the eye – probably play with at least as much pace as any team in the PL. Good and well deserved win at Goodison.
Also, big shout out for my non-league team, Chorley FC, who made it through to the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Won 2-1 at Peterborough (2nd in League One), after going 1-0 down in the second minute. Chorley then went on to hit the post twice in the first half. They scored twice in about 5 minutes earlyish in the second half and even went on to miss a penalty. Thoroughly deserved win. I get down to watch them whenever I can – real football. Hope they get one of the biggies in round three – City would be nice._____________________________
