Brian, I always respect your opinion. However, I don’t believe the problem is growing, as you are suggesting. I think we’re simply seeing/hearing it more. Every single person in the stadium can be an instant broadcaster of content with their phone. There are more cameras in the stadium than ever before. Sound quality has improved massively so we hear the chants perfectly now.

I honestly don’t think things are anywhere near as bad as they have been in the past in English football. It’s just that we wouldn’t have seen/heard things in the past unless we were at the stadium.

As Adlab says, social media also gave a voice to a whole new generation of cruel people who can hide behind an alias and are free to abuse without fear of being accosted by fellow fans in the stadium. These people are often not fans though. Just people out to abuse others and the likes of twitter provide a perfect platform for them to do so while hiding behind a club allegiance.

Harry Kane clearly missed or ‘A’ finisher. Have to say I’d be very frustrated if I was a Spurs fan. In the balance of play so far, Spurs have been in pretty good shape containing Man City.

There’s been more than one form of a counter attack from Tottenham, but the final ball and the choice of pass and chosen player has been a let down and a waste all in all.

You can sense something happening, but simply too kind and not ruthless in the slightest from the Lillywhites.
