And, as somebody who pays for every single game, I think you cheap-ass mofo’s should all be locked up!!

20th August 2021 at 10:51 am #183061You are lucky to have the option of buying every game banjo, that’s the whole issue here mate and why do you assume the current model is fairer than the proposed when you currently get what we want anyway?

20th August 2021 at 10:57 am #183062Nepolean… I don’t think the current model is fair, if I’m honest. There’s 20 clubs in the Prem, and purely in the spirit of fair play, it should be split 20 equal ways.
Yes, I know there is the argument about certain clubs being bigger draws than the others and that those clubs should get bigger shares etc… , but my “argument” there is simply that those bigger clubs already make more money from their bigger fanbase, that should be enough as far as I’m concerned.

20th August 2021 at 11:07 am #183063I agree banjo but my main argument here is for fairness towards fans first and foremost. If you give me two unfair models of broadcast but one of them allows me to watch any game its obvious which one is best for fans so while I agree with your argument it is actually a different discussion altogether.

20th August 2021 at 11:18 am #183064Wasn’t the whole point of the “blackout” of the 3 o’clock kick-offs to stop everybody from staying at home and not going to their “local” teams and somehow “protect” their potentail attendances? Or are we thinking of a “streaming” model whereby every single game is played at a different time so everybody has the potential to watch every single game live?
And anyway, if they did that, it would ruin my “package”, wouldn’t want that to happen, obvioulsy! π

20th August 2021 at 11:24 am #183066AnonymousThe PL TV money is split really fairly IMO. The big clubs are angling to get more and more whenever they can and this ,is where I will sometimes disagree. Only sometimes but the league has got to remain as competitive as possible and the lower clubs only chance is a good share of the PL TV money.
when it comes to voting though, i do have a bit of a problem with it. The 5 subs thing being voted out constantly, in the face of player health, was absolutely disgraceful. They played this card “oh of course the big clubs want it, they have bigger squad” but that goes both ways and on one side, they are endangering the health of players who had no choice to opt out of games… Just very sketchy.

20th August 2021 at 11:43 am #183067Banjo the regulations regards blackout for 3pm kick offs is backwards and out of date. Makes no bloody sense at all as I said early, every football fan for whom it is affordable and practical would much rather watch game from stands. half the games are already broadcast live anyway, the crowds are fine at 4pm on a Sunday and 8pm on a Monday, the regulations are bloody bonkers!

20th August 2021 at 11:45 am #183068They can have as many subs on the bench, that doesn’t bother me, but as long as only 3 are allowed on the pitch…

20th August 2021 at 1:24 pm #183072“The Premier League has announced its clubs have unanimously agreed a proposal to continue the existing UK television deal with Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and BBC Sport for a further three years, as previously reported by The Athletic. The deal will run from 2022 to 2025.13 May 2021”
Nothing will change until 2025 I can see the benefits of a Club TV Season Ticket to fans that can’t get to games but I think that’s still some way off.
Must admit when I had my Chelsea season tickets before I moved away I hated the Sunday and Monday night games football had always been 3 pm on a Saturday afternoon and you planned your whole day around it.

20th August 2021 at 1:28 pm #183073Adlab, City have had wall to wal coverage of the Grealish transfer and the potential Kane transfer but with nothing currently happening on the Kane transfer or on the plan b there’s no City transfer news to report.
You were presumably watching the Transfer Show on Sky and with Arsenal having transfers going through its no surprise they were bring covered.

20th August 2021 at 1:35 pm #183074Adlab, one man’s meat is another man’s poison I worked in London for a number of years in the West End and I loved every minute of it the restaurants, the bars, the theatres, the history and the culture.
There’s a reason so many overseas tourist visit London:
“London attracts around 30 million visitors from around the world every year. The number of tourists visiting London has increased from 11 million in 2002 to more than 19 million in 2016.
According to the National Office for Statistics tourists spent more than 111 million nights and close to Β£11.9 billion. See the chart below to see whoβs visiting London (Source: Statista).”
I dare say it’s just as dangerous crossing a road in the centre of Manchester as it is in Islington.π

20th August 2021 at 2:04 pm #183082Nine, I totally appreciate that mate and I personally would prefer all league games played at 3pm on Saturday but with every game televised so that the 99% of chelsea fans who can’t get to bridge can see it live at home, you know it makes sense π

20th August 2021 at 2:04 pm #183083Nine, Sean.
Imo London is a great place to visit but awful to live and work unless you are loaded or have limited horizons. I have a much better quality of life living where I do. Of I want London nip on the train 90mins.
Here we have a lovely house and garden plenty on amemities and none of the crime. We keep our horses close by. We are 20mins from Cardiff and are able to cross the road ,,,,,,_____________________________

20th August 2021 at 4:29 pm #183091That is a sensible suggestion Lucky,,every team kicks off at 15.00. just like it used to be. Get “bums on seats”. I do not mind 12,30 kick off if there has to be an alternative but evening matches bring there own problems for many fans who want to go and support in person.
