20th August 2021 at 9:20 am #183041I think many donβt accept it mak and have cancelled subscriptions and taken to pirate streams instead hence all the commotion and the scaremongering that nine highlighted regards prosecution.
Instead of spending resource and energy fighting this, the broadcasters and Premier league should realise that most people would prefer to pay for legal top quality broadcasts and instead work out a way to sell us all the games.
That’s exactly it Lucky. Remember all those ads/warnings about video piracy before a film would start? “You wouldn’t steal a …., so why steal a film” or whatever it was. The same with music and illegal downloads. What did the industries do? They evolved. Netflix and Spotify became household subscription services which removed the need for piracy in the video and music industries. It’s about time football did the same.

20th August 2021 at 9:32 am #183043There are plenty of gizmos around to illegally obtain broadcasts.
Just watching Sky transfer show. Is there any other team in the country other than Arsenal.
Yesterday…all Arsenal. Today after 23 mins…all Arsenal. Just more London crap. The pundits are also of the same background.
Spurs lose last night with an understrength team. Not a word. We lose 1-0 without Walker, Stones, Zinchenko, Laporte, Foden (all not fit) KDB and Jesus (15 mins) and all hell breaks loose. Gundogan injured after a foul. Yep well done Spurs.
We should walk away NOW from trying to sign Kane and use the funds for a QUALITY leftback who can defend and a backup striker. I agree we should have signed Ings._____________________________

20th August 2021 at 9:38 am #183046Can’t believe I’m agreeing with Adders here, but he’s right, Arsenal are London crap… π
(And I’m sure he’s other minor issue had nothing to do with the 550 million starting line-up or 350 million bench that lost to the ‘Harry Kane without Harry Kane’ team on Sunday!)

20th August 2021 at 9:48 am #183048The big question here would be how would a reasonable “streaming” system work?
Would you have the FA sell individual games to the streaming services or would you have each club start their own? And how would you split to dosh? Obviously, a big club (like YooUtd) vs a small club (like the Goonies! π ) would draw a hell of a lot of Essex boys and maybe 42 people from France, so would YooUtd get all the money or would it be split down the middle (or do the fans “click” to say who gets their share) or what?
It might be better access, and obvioulsy would sort out the naughty-naughty, but all I see is another way of the Big-Dogs screwing over the little dogs…

20th August 2021 at 9:49 am #183049I pay for sky, bt and premier sports at a half decent price . Iβve tried all the streaming etc and I just canβt be dealing with the issues. Itβs a nightmare.
So Iβd rather pay the money then deal with all the issues that come with streaming. I pay about 75 euro a month for football but itβs money well spent for me as I watch loads and loads of football and if it means me sacrificing a few other of lifeβs pleasures then fine. Iβm one of the lucky ones who can afford it as people are being ripped off. Totally agree with lucky
Really there should be a deal weβre you can pay to watch all your teams games.

20th August 2021 at 9:57 am #183051Completely agree Sean, football fans for whom it is practical and affordable would always rather be at the game than watch on TV, and similarly when affordable, footie fans would prefer to pay to watch legal top quality broadcasts than crappy illegal streams.
I hate it when chelsea kick off at 3 on Saturday , I actually got a pretty decent stream for the Palace game on weekend but like you I really would prefer to the option to buy it which is currently denied.

20th August 2021 at 10:01 am #183053Banjo the big clubs would always try to get a bigger slice of the pie it would have to be sold as an all for one package which allows you access to every game imo. 40 quid per month and everyone cancels bt and sky overnight!

20th August 2021 at 10:06 am #183054On aa seiuos note though when you watch TV you get the impression that only London matters and the only people worth interviewing are from a certain background (no offence intended).
I worked in London for many years and you couldnt pay me to live there. We had excellent offices in Islington and in the City but the rest of it…ugh. I couldnt wait to get on the train home. Even crossing the road in Islington was a nightmare.
Went to Highbury a few times when they had a good team with Henry etc. Hardly ever a cheer or noo. The Highbury library was a good description but what a good team it was and great football but rubbish support.

20th August 2021 at 10:16 am #183055Buffy… my least favorite aftershave now, back to the Oldpsice for me!!
Neoplean… in case you hadn’t noticed, I’m vehemnently against anything that allows to the Big-Dogs to get bigger to the detriment of the game itself.
Adders… should have gone to a proper club and a proper game, mate! π

20th August 2021 at 10:34 am #183058Yeah Chucky, as Lucky says, it would have to be sold as a streaming package for the whole league for it to be sustainable. Equal shares to all clubs. Just as someone might buy HBO to watch Game of Thrones mainly but watch a lot of other stuff as a bonus, the same could be true of a PL streaming service.
Obviously it can’t be as simple as that or it would already exist but it has to evolve towards something like that otherwise they’ll never get rid of piracy. As much as the authorities are getting smarter in detecting and prosecuting, the streaming providers are getting smarter in avoiding detection.
I also read Nine’s post (about the warning) as being a case of you get a warning initially before any prosecution anyway, so it’s hardly much of a deterrent for those yet to receive such a warning.

20th August 2021 at 10:44 am #183059Sweedy, it might be sold as a complete pacakge but we all know the Big-Dogs would want a larger share of it. I would have no problem whatsoever if it was all split equally but there’s more chance of Buffy changing his pants than that happening!
Buffy, it’s Friday, go on… do it, do it!!
