A word of warning for those watching illegal streamings at home:
“There is an ongoing piracy crackdown that sees police officers knocking on doors across the UK, and that’s not the only risk to those who watch paid-for content without paying.
Piracy Streaming UK Watch For Free Sky TV Police
Police officers are visiting homes across the UK to clampdown on streaming offences (Image: GPolice officers are visiting the homes of those suspected of illegally streaming copyrighted material, including the Hollywood blockbusters, original dramas from Sky, and the latest Premier League fixtures. The latest crackdown, which is taking place at addresses across the UK, is the result of a joint operation between police and anti-piracy organisation FACT.
Officers have already visited homes in Essex, Hertfordshire, West Yorkshire and Pembrokeshire. Notices warning to immediately cease any illegal streaming activity are being handed to homeowners. In the past, broadband providers – including BT and Sky – have sent out similar notices in the mail. Internet suppliers are able to detect when customers are using their home broadband to illegally access copyrighted material, either using torrents, streaming sites, or set-top boxes like so-called Kodi and IPTV Boxes.
Kieron Sharp, Chief Executive of FACT said: “We employ a range of tactics to prevent the provision of illegal streaming. Our continuous activity targets different elements of the global piracy landscape, with consideration given to the scale of the offending to ensure effective and proportionate action is taken.”
Of course, those who have already been issued a warning – or are found to be distributing illicit ways to watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters, shows and spot fixtures – can face much harsher penalties too. Last month, a man was arrested by West Mercia Police in connection with suspected illegal streaming of pay-TV channels. Police had worked with FACT on the case.”

19th August 2021 at 3:34 pm #183005Most get around that with a VPN nine.
The shame here is the I have only ever watched illegal streams for games that are broadcast elsewhere but not here and have subscriptions to sky and bt.
Never understand why American chelsea fans see all the games live and we can’t, it’s bs and the regulations surrounding it is complete idiocy.

19th August 2021 at 3:52 pm #183007From a business perspective I guess that Sky et al have to try and protect their investment Lucky. See below:
Yeah I think they get a better deal in the US and it’s cheaper but it’s difficult to compare the two I think we are limited over here to the games we are to protect the live games with fans in the PL and the FL.
“Under the current arrangement, Sky – the owner of Sky News – and BT agreed in 2018 to pay £4.5bn to screen live matches from 2019/20 to 2021/22 and a further tranche of games was sold to Amazon Prime for an undisclosed sum.
The new deal extends the arrangement, covering seasons 2022/23 to 2024/25, with a total value thought to be in the region of £5.1bn.
It also includes the BBC, which screens top-flight highlights on Match of the Day.”

19th August 2021 at 3:59 pm #183009All that money for less than half the games? It’s bs nine I get there is a business rationale behind it all nine I just wish the Premier league was as customer focused at home as they are abroad. complete and utter contempt for us mate

19th August 2021 at 8:44 pm #183013I agree Lucky, it is barmy that people abroad can watch more matches than us. I suspect the number of live matches will increase but it will be gradually. But other broadcasters will no doubt get involved meaning you’ll need to pay all of them separately which won’t be cheap. I believe the TV money has now plateaued, though that might not be for long.

19th August 2021 at 8:52 pm #183017Lucky, there were special facts behind the reasons we got wall to wall games. It was never part of the agreement and it was always going to go back to normality once fans went back to the Stadiums.

19th August 2021 at 9:20 pm #183020You could have Lewandowski for £110 mill Adlab. Missed less games than Kane through injury I think.

19th August 2021 at 9:40 pm #183021Signs of a plan b Adlab?
“City are already making plans for an alternative should attempts to prise Kane ultimately fail.
To that end, reports on Wednesday claimed City had suddenly leaped into the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic.” Team talk 19/08

19th August 2021 at 10:26 pm #183025Dusan Vlahovic would be a risk Brian he’s only 21 but he’s a striker who scored 21 goals for Fiorentina in Serie A last season. Just a rumour currently but it seems to be building.
Ironically Spurs were supposedly interested in him to replace Kane should he eventually leave.

20th August 2021 at 7:16 am #183031Every signing is a risk chums but if your a striker and you sign for city, one thing you are guaranteed is a heap of chances. They create so much. A good forward shoujd get loads of goals there
I remember watching valhovic for Serbia v Ireland and he was excellent. Works hard and a nice left foot

20th August 2021 at 8:45 am #183035Nine, of course mate but my opinion is not held because I was given the “privilege” to watch every game legally last year and am angry that its not staying, my argument is it should already be that way for the money British fans pay and which sky and bt purchase. The Premier league take in far more revenue from British fans per person and yet we don’t get anywhere near the value that people in states or other countries get.

20th August 2021 at 8:49 am #183036AnonymousThat’s because people accept things how they are LD. If the fans kicked up a fuss and stopped paying these crazy sums, they would adapt.

20th August 2021 at 9:01 am #183037I think many don’t accept it mak and have cancelled subscriptions and taken to pirate streams instead hence all the commotion and the scaremongering that nine highlighted regards prosecution.
Instead of spending resource and energy fighting this, the broadcasters and Premier league should realise that most people would prefer to pay for legal top quality broadcasts and instead work out a way to sell us all the games.
