6th May 2019 at 9:54 pm #40142AnonymousSean, you said “absolutely no chance”. The game was decided by a freak goal. The Burnley game, with the same no chance was decided by a barely over the line goal.
there was more than a reasonable chance man. It didnt happen but it was there.

99% title is City’s now though.

6th May 2019 at 9:55 pm #40144Massive massive win for City. Hell of a goal from Kompany.
Tonight looked like a banana skin until then.
I can’t see City not winning it now but this is football and you just never know.
That must have been a traumatic watch for both City and Liverpool fans.

6th May 2019 at 9:57 pm #40145AnonymousIt was Nine. The thing is, you could see City were struggling under the pressure. They will win the final game , almost certainly but since we brought them to the last day of the season, I’m not calling it early.

6th May 2019 at 9:58 pm #40146Vincent Kompany is a genuinely nice guy and one of the best professionals in our game. FAIR FAIR FAIR and DECENT.
He FULLY DESERVES that tonight. For all these so-called top players like Aguero and Silva, Tonight proved their other side like fouling, high foot, and just arrogance after losing the ball.
I played football a good portion of my life and youth and will still play, but I will always try and win the ball fairly, not like the way these guys are. I see this a lot in Barcelona too just because they don’t get their own way to stroke the ball in the park.

6th May 2019 at 9:59 pm #40147You couldn’t make it up. City really created very little, Leicester did everything right. It took a goal from the distance from a defender who almost never shoots or scores to decide the game and probably the title.
Too bad for Liverpool. Even as a United fan I could have wished for a better fate for them. Next season it is then._____________________________

6th May 2019 at 10:00 pm #40148Sometimes you need to sit back and watch that goal. it was magnificent a goal. City still has in their hands.

6th May 2019 at 10:00 pm #40149Leicester: Best opposition out of all to try and stop Man City tonight. If Brendan picks up Strurridge and can resurrect him along with maybe bringing in an unexpected Adam Lallana or a Jack Grealish, they’ll break into the TOP 4 Next Year.

6th May 2019 at 10:02 pm #40151Generally wasn’t a bad night, as I channel hopped, but weirdly and Gods Honest Truth, the time I switched back to the football, replays of Kompany’s shot were in my view and I thought that’s probably our final blow.

6th May 2019 at 10:06 pm #40152Nil, it probably was. But there’s still one game to go, so there’s still a chance. Who knows?

6th May 2019 at 10:09 pm #40153On the back of right here right now and Tomorrow night: Nobody is to be rested and who is fit to play will play and we’re going to give it our all. I’m not putting up yet another year of going empty-handed. That’s injustice.
Team/s losing 8-13 games able to qualify for the Champions League. We on the other hand lost 1, win 29 and still can’t get over the finishing line.
On Sunday, Liverpool need that early goal at Anfield, like in the first 3 seconds.

6th May 2019 at 10:09 pm #40154Mak, tbh it was looking like the title was swinging away from City until that Kompany goal. Leicester played really well I’m so pleased we’re not going there on Sunday needing a win for the top 4.

6th May 2019 at 10:13 pm #40155AnonymousThe only reason Im not calling the title now is out of some misguided desire to not disrespect the team for bringing it to the final day of the season. It’s not mathematically over but Leicester was the team to take points off City. I think they did well enough but it just didn’t happen.
I’m not that interested in applauding any great goal though. My interests in that match were genuinely not really football related. I wasn’t watching it as much of a spectator but more as someone who desperately wanted a certain result.
I guess this means we’ve got to put out the first team against Barca. We’ve more of a chance of overturning that, which says it all really.

6th May 2019 at 10:15 pm #40156AnonymousYa Nine, I was asking myself to keep my expectations in check as I checked the clock each time. The funny things is, I said to some lads that City looked nervy at the start but that it wouldn’t compare to how they will feel with 20 mins left, if still 0-0 haha … well!
Liverpool couldn’t have closer here really. Another 25 mins or so, like all the time before it and the title was almost certainly ours.

I get you man but we’ll just have to put up with it and that’s that. It is nuts to look at our season and know that we’re 95% gonna finish with nothing. It’s harsh for sure. Extremely. It isn’t quite unjust though, as City have managed more points.

6th May 2019 at 10:20 pm #40158Srd,
I think all in all from our point of view, the best opposition team to understand our journey and just us as Liverpool Supporters is Manchester United.
I suffered youth and adulthood consisting 29 years of not winning the League Championship.
You guys now have gone 6 years without winning it. That may then turn to 10 years, 15 years, then you’ll be thinking like us. The reason why I’ve used you guys as an example is because it makes perfect sense in you being England’s most successful.
People in the here and now seem completely oblivious of that. I’ll never accept X,Y,Z opposition like 58 years or x amount of years – maybe Arsenal.
But this is the true APEX mate where I’m coming from and did ever since I laid my eyes on Teamtalk circa 1997.
This is what I’ve been striving for.
1 or two Titles in hand and in scenarios like this on a Bank Holiday, I probably wouldn’t even be that precious, and would allow my health some ease and relaxion.

6th May 2019 at 10:26 pm #40162Nine, mate Iβd say most managers would like to have Jesus in their starting line up let alone being able to bring him off the bench haha.

6th May 2019 at 10:26 pm #40163Rather fed up of Silva’s and Aguero. They foul and are aggressive when they lose the ball. I don’t like them.

6th May 2019 at 10:30 pm #40164Well, Chris Hughton at the Amex my final hope. Liverpool need quick-time goals but the way things are with Salah and Firmino, but kick in the stomach. Anguish.
