P.s, Ed all the stuff you said re the difficulty increasing as season progressed and pressure grew is spot on. Same applied to city but they are better placed to cope with it and managed it better.
That’s why I look at it as the cream rising to the top rather than arsenal throwing away a title to a team that is on course to record 94 points π

15th May 2023 at 4:00 pm #206896Thatβs it lucky, most teams have a drop in form over38 games. Cities happened in tye first five months with a few defeats or draws you would not expect . City are so experience d and finish so strong nearly all the time
Unfortunately arsenalβs bad spell came at the end of the season. Happened to Liverpool jan 19 and it cost us.

15th May 2023 at 4:02 pm #206897Again, it’s not the fact City have caught them IMO which makes them bottlers. You simply can’t afford to slip up against City and I get that. This wasn’t a normal loss of form though. It’s the manner of the defeats that defines it as an implosion rather than simply bad form or not having the legs. Yesterday they were absolutely torn to shreds by Brighton. That’s not bad form. That’s a capitulation. Not having the legs is playing every 3 days and running out of steam. They’ve been playing no more than once a week for the best part of 2 months. Besides, Arteta is an incredibly irritating individual on the sideline so I’m much more content calling them bottlers whatever anyone else says π

Of course Ed, and it simultaneously shits on both Arsenal and City so that’s very efficient footie banter π€£ If they weren’t miles ahead of our teams maybe I would join in π

15th May 2023 at 5:24 pm #206899Just looking at Arsenals results this season, one interesting thing that may or may not be a coincidence is that Arsenal had a very poor run of games in the lead up to both matches vs City. Before their home game vs City, they lost to Everton then drew to Brentford. And before the away game at City they drew 3 games. Had City got into their heads in the lead up to those games?

15th May 2023 at 8:09 pm #206900Decisions already going against us and boy are they getting stuck into us. Dirty. Really hope they get relegated because they’ll deserve it.

15th May 2023 at 8:41 pm #206904Can’t believe this Leicester team is getting relegated. I mean I can in a way because they have been awful but I still think the players they have should have been good enough to be comfortably mid table or top half.

15th May 2023 at 8:43 pm #206905When Tielemans scored that worldie to win the FA Cup final I would never have thought that team would be back in championship in a few years. It really seemed as though they were established as a top half team that regularly pushes for European places and had room to grow.

15th May 2023 at 8:52 pm #206906Indeed Lucky, when I saw their lineup tonight I thought how have they got themselves into this position?! Also, whilst he’s not the root cause and whilst he’d had experience fighting relegation, just didn’t think Dean Smith was the right appointment. It felt a backward step for them.

15th May 2023 at 9:18 pm #206907We’re gaining authority now. A lot more controlled and purpose rather than kick and rush.

15th May 2023 at 9:24 pm #206908I’m not pinning my hopes that much on 4th spot. Although I rather not have Europa and Thursday, it is what it is.
I just want to end our season on a winning streak. Our form guide is coupled at the moment with Man City. Maybe that’s a parallel and a poem in itself haha.
Still not at the levels we were, but we’ve improved make no mistake.

1- Alexis Mac Allister
2- James Ward-Prowse
3 – James MaddisonOr an outsider in Declan Rice?

Worth the wait for a Monday Night.

I’m just happy with us winning and playing better football.
