Needed to score in the first half. Looked only a matter of time. De Gea gifts one to them and we then looked shot. Could have played another half and not scored.
Martial has no excuse for that. I get other players are tired but he has not played. Should have brought on Garnacho imo.

7th May 2023 at 9:06 pm #206707Ed, utds home form is excellent. I really canβt see them throwing this away. Canβt see utd dropping points at home in any of their home games.

7th May 2023 at 9:12 pm #206708It’s just the moment and the form guide isn’t it.
Liverpool have found form and consistency for the first time all season. With that of late in our favour to be fair have been more games in succession at home than on the road, but then we had to play, Chelsea, City and Arsenal one after another.
On Paper the 2 United Teams still look good, so better to curb any thought of capitalizing/Pouncing on either one of those.
Leicester City next Monday Night a very tough game, so every Premier League Team should be treated with respect irrespective of their own plight and position.

7th May 2023 at 9:16 pm #206710You’d think so Sean but we’ve looked so fatigued in recent weeks. Shaw has been great at CB but we’re really missing him at LB. Up front, we’re just so dependent on Rashford

7th May 2023 at 9:18 pm #206711The place I thought Gunners would trip up and they were absolute First Class. Jorginho showing real leadership in the middle of the park, but Odegaard a real Driver and one of the Arsenal Players and Standouts for me this season.
Arteta looked really proud and relaxed after the final whistle.

7th May 2023 at 9:21 pm #206712Before utd lost to Brighton, Liverpool were 7-1 against for top 4, tonight they are down to 3-1.
Pool on 62 with 9 points left to gain.
Utd on 63 points with 12 points left to gain. From utd POV I think they have to presume Liverpool will get all 9 points and finish on 71. That means utd need to win 3 out of last 4 to be sure of top 4.
Who would bet on utd winning 3 of last 4 based on their form? Not me. Who would bet on pool winning all 3 of their games based on form? I would.
This could be interesting π€

7th May 2023 at 9:22 pm #206713The bigger problem is falling into the trap of thinking we might sneak it, but then losing out to Thursday Nights and needless unnecessary fixtures.
Gosh, I’m so glad to an extent this season will conclude with the flow. The World Cup really took it’s toll.
Bar Manchester City’s squad depth and the money they’re able to spend; the rest have had it tough to say the least.

7th May 2023 at 9:23 pm #206715Nil, pool have to win all 3 games. Do that and you have a decent chance, fail to win all 3 you don’t.

7th May 2023 at 9:29 pm #206716Ed, ye I think fatigue definitely playing a part but ten hagg always played big players in early fa cup and carling cup games. Casemerio had a nice rest from suspension
Issue seems to be goals away from home. Players out of form. Bit of a bizarre front 4 this evening with weighorst as ten and Bruno left. They was set up v Liverpool away
Lucky, we left it far to late. I just canβt see utd not winning their home games. They are very good at home. Also utd have a break for 1st time in a while. They look exhausted after so many games and be happy with a weeks break

7th May 2023 at 9:33 pm #206717What a crap end to the season. Top 4 should have been done and dusted weeks ago and here we are.
Rashford has gone back to being his usual self. Loses possession and then starts jogging without any attempt to reclaim the ball.
Where has this style of play crept in from. They pass the ball like they are having a kick about with their mates in the park. No urgency what so ever.

7th May 2023 at 9:33 pm #206718Absolutely Lucky. Definitively all season, Liverpool have been poor on the road against their standards and results achieved. Fixtures entailed are against Teams fighting against Relegation.
Cup Final and Survival for them.
Villa at home no easy ride there. Forget new kit launches and beach holidays.
At the very least, I want Liverpool to be giving 150%

7th May 2023 at 9:35 pm #206719Don’t worry too much United and Newcastle. Still yours.
Brighton could win their matches in hand and we fall into 6th.

7th May 2023 at 9:35 pm #206720If we miss top 4, we’ll only have ourselves to blame. I don’t think anyone expected miracles from Ten Hag in his first season and it was always going to take time to implement such a shift in style. If we get rid of the Glazers and end the season with the Carabao Cup and no top 4, I’d have taken that before the season started.

7th May 2023 at 9:36 pm #206721Sean I know you like to play down your expectations mate but you really do have a chance now. The odds have shortened and in the estimation of the bookies you have 25% chance of top 4 now.

7th May 2023 at 9:39 pm #206722This is the first weeks rest Utd will have had since September, as well as having a lot of players going far in the World Cup.

7th May 2023 at 9:40 pm #206723Ed, utd were 5th fave’s for top four back in july. Look at it that way and 5th and league cup is decent.
Although 3 of the 4 teams more favoured to finish top 4 were chelsea, spurs and pool and so if you look at it that way it would be a big opportunity missed imo considering the various problems at the 3 clubs mentioned seemingly opening a clear path to top 4 for utd.

7th May 2023 at 9:42 pm #206724Yeah Liverpool have some nice games now and are playing with no fear. They’ve nothing to lose. I don’t think anyone doubts Liverpool’s ability to get their job done. It’s whether or not Utd or Newcastle continue to falter and let them in. The way Utd are playing and with Newcastle having some awkward remaining games, there’s every chance now.

7th May 2023 at 9:42 pm #206725Well lucky to be honest mate, I cannot see it happening. Utd have very winnable games at home. If it was one point begins with no games in hand, Iβd fancy us and thatβs the truth
Iβm just enjoying watching us again as itβs being a really poor season from us

7th May 2023 at 9:44 pm #206727Oh it would be a massive opportunity missed Lucky and we’d have bottled it Arsenal style. No getting away from it. But all of Klopp, Pep and Arteta had iffy first seasons in the league. It’s essential to take the positives from this season and let Ten Hag continue to build the side he needs, whatever happens now.
