That’s the game ruined for a neutral… not sure a Red was right, certainly a yellow… but then again, TAA should have been off (would have got a yellow if he wasn’t already on one, I feel!)…

Switched off for half-time break. Liked our passing and we’ve had decent passages of play, but lacking that cutting edge and conviction. Possibly Nunez and Jota can change that if allowed on.
Common denominator combination of Trent and Van Dijk. I’ve mentioned, he’s nowhere near the player he used to be. Konate hasn’t clicked back since his injury and we really should have invested in a new center half.
Individually, these guys now are prone to mistakes. Gordon is a menace and he was exactly like that at Everton when he played us at Anfield and Van Dijk got away with not conceding a pen.

No complaints. Decent 5 minutes then we just fell apart. Individual mistakes. Itβs just poor from a team that really has fallen apart in the last year. We are an average side.

The infuriating thing is, at the top end of the pitch, we’re still a very good side. But behind that, we’re lacking quite a bit. It wouldn’t take that much to make everything right.
