Nil-Hope Klopp goes easy on us, our midfielders are heavy and old 😆😆😆

10th March 2024 at 7:39 pm #213141I came back today hoping for football and what do we get….nonsense about oil state corruption. Total drivel. I give up.
Disappointed. I used to enjoy this. But ….that’s it._____________________________

10th March 2024 at 7:51 pm #213142Goose… joke all you want, but I can’t think of a YooUtd I’d take over any of my lot… Vicky vs Onana = Vicky… Shaw vs Udogie = Udogie (although there is a lot of “injury” taken into consideration there!)… maybe Martiniz for CB… but you can keep the rest… Dalot vs Porro = Porro… can’t think of a midfielder I would swap for any of ours… same for attackers… Garnaocho vs Sonny? Richarlison vs Holjund? Rashford vs Kulu??
I think if any YooUtd nutter went for a Spud/YooUtd combined 11, you’d be hard pushed to squeeze more 3 in there…

10th March 2024 at 7:53 pm #213143Adlab-
If United were owned by the UAE state and there were PL refs officiating in their league, wouldn’t you be saying the same going. You pretty much implied United were corrupt when Howard Webb was ref and how Liverpool are getting favourable ref decisions.
It is just constance sniping at other clubs, at times insinuating corruption and ignoring your own club links and wrongdoings which put posters off at times. I stopped posting here when I use to read your comments.
I hope you reconsider because I believe you are a good poster most of the time.

He implies the world is againest city when they get the majority of the big decisions

10th March 2024 at 8:34 pm #213146Looked again at the studs up, I will re-evaluate, it should have been a pen. City very lucky, but I dont think it was corruption, they just seem to always get the rub of the green.
One day their luck will run out…

10th March 2024 at 8:49 pm #213147VAR was brought in to end these debates. Yet we seems to talk about refs decisions even more. Before you could put it down to human error or whatever other reason people used.
With VAR there shouldn’t be an excuse for mistakes and teams should not be getting the rub of he green.

10th March 2024 at 8:58 pm #213148Yeah, agree CM. We should probably go back to how it was. The system in principle is good. The way it’s managed though isn’t. Should really have been a Referral back to the Ref. Also, they need stop play immediately if when the Linesman calls for offside.
On the actual pitch compared to TV, these guys are trained and it can’t be hard to keep up with the flow and pace of the game and call accurately even on the tightest of calls.

10th March 2024 at 9:02 pm #213149They caught out Kelleher on their goal; unfortunate, but these things happen. Their midfield was easy to cut though which was surprising considering……even with Kovakic. It proves though if you stick to being aggressive and don’t back down, they can be rattled.

10th March 2024 at 9:12 pm #213150I actually agree with Carra’s take on it when he said he agreed with Klopp that it would have been a foul anywhere else on the pitch – but Carra then said that there’s an unwritten rule in football that for it to warrant a penalty if it’s in the box – there has to be more than that. In other words, for me anywhere else on the pitch the reason that gets punished is to deter dangerous play rather than giving the opposition a free kick. If the ref had given a yellow card in the box to deter dangerous play he’d also have to have given the penalty. Thats where the grey area is in between.
There was a debate some time ago on here about whether fouls in the box deserve a penalty particularly if they’re not obvious goal scoring chances being denied. And I think this is linked to why some fouls aren’t given in the box when they would be given elsewhere on the pitch.

10th March 2024 at 9:16 pm #213152Good points Mikus, the threshold of what constitutes a foul is higher in the box than outside.
Funny feeling disappointed with only a point against City whilst having so many first teamers out. Endo and MacAllister were absolutely superb and some of the best buisness we’ve done for many years.
Its going to be tight, just hope not another 1 point win for City.

10th March 2024 at 9:27 pm #213153Endo’s been fabulous. My only slight qualm today was Nunez going off with 20 minutes still to go. Yes I know he’s coming back and had played on Thursday. But in a game as big as that, you surely leave him on? Gakpo can be quite good in the box, but I think Gary Neville asked the question in a recent commentary whether he struggles with the speed of our attacks sometimes.

10th March 2024 at 9:29 pm #213155Feels like a defeat as its a pen all day for me. Its so disappointing they get it wrong like the rodri handball v everton. Its defining moments for the keague and ive no doubt it will workin cities favour yet again
Dont believe in any corruption but the consistency is so bad.

10th March 2024 at 9:29 pm #213156More of a Liverpool 2.0 in starting the game today. Just makes you think we would have been significantly short-changed with Fabinho and Henderson. Endo puts in so many miles and reads the game so well. Great News off the Pitch with our Ex Sporting Director returning in a new role and appointing somebody new.
We just need the all important new Manager and 3 Top Quality Additions in the Summer.

10th March 2024 at 9:36 pm #213157I do get the frustration and different people react and handle the outcome of dubious decisions differently; that’s fine.
Personally, I don’t want to allow it to eat me up and lose sight of the Bigger Picture in terms of where we are. We didn’t lose the match which I’m grateful for.
The only slight criticism I would give is that on 2 occasions where we had the opportunity to extend our lead over our rival team, we’ve failed out of playing Both Arsenal and Man City. It’s more circumstance than ‘bottling it’.
I genuinely feel super proud from seeing more of our squad that has been by forced unleashed integrate as a team and express their ability so well individually.
Klopp’s face virtually every game is like it’s his last one; it’s emotional.

10th March 2024 at 9:43 pm #213158Lol, been racking my brains and finally figured out who Nunez’s run around the keeper and subsequent Pen reminded me of from a Back-pass. It was Thierry Henry! 😀 Can’t remember though whether it was playing for France or the Gunners.

Whilst I agree that this is a thing (and of course it is), studs into his chest is beyond this discussion.
In a way, it is our fault for allowing things to come back to relying on the crooks to alter the result. We should have buried them long before we gave them the chance to steal it from us.Lets get this season over with so I can move on from this sport.

10th March 2024 at 10:31 pm #213161How long will Ederson be ruled for is the question. Naturally, he’ll be missed in large given FA Cup, Champions League and the visit of Arsenal, but this of course depends on the severity of the injury.
The Keeper standing in to be fair to him quite simply hasn’t played many matches. Maybe a re-think on formation from Pep.
