I think Pep thought he could get away without signing a centre back to replace Kompany and the injuries to the other Centre Backs tripped him up.

12th January 2020 at 6:48 pm #59235Nine, the answer/s to your question 🙂 :
1) Strictly from a Company point of view: I’d have to weigh up other factors than to just consider money and whether or not it would be worth my while.
2) Footballing POV, if I was in Drinkwater’s shoes at the time, I probably would have stayed. Obviously it’s easy now to talk in hindsight, but he’s basically experienced the other side of an example of a move to Chelsea not quite working out.
It’s ultimately about taking risks, and being at the right place at the right time dealing with minimal injuries

12th January 2020 at 7:00 pm #59248Drinkwater should have stayed at Leicester. Shame about his injuries but another one thinking at one point the grass would be greener. So should have Harry Maguire.

12th January 2020 at 7:02 pm #59250Nil-Come on mate,Villa were really poor and childish today,as if they didnt want to play or they want their manager sacked.Worse than Norwich yesterday.

12th January 2020 at 7:42 pm #59275They were poor and we were good hence 6-1.
Is Grealish worth signing?

12th January 2020 at 8:01 pm #59287J.Grealish & J.Maddison 2 of the most overrated players in todays world of football.AV werent just poor, they were abysmal and played like a pub team.
I guess teams like Liverpool can afford to sign them both, but they are not players to elevate a average team like United,Arse or Spurs to a title winning team._____________________________

The other factors were a better position in a higher profile company.?
I don’t blame Drinkwater for taking the chance he had ambition and nobody should be knocked for that imo.

12th January 2020 at 8:38 pm #59310Nine, there’s possibly other football fans out that maybe thinking like you and I mate.
I agree wholeheartedly with Mav’s point. Villa were just idle. The Coverage I had on involved Andy Townsend as the Co-Commentator and two/three times made the point of Villa just practically being a Doormat (nothing to take away from Man City’s quality).
It just purely seemed at the time of Leicester winning the Prem in 2016, every other player were added a +10 to them 😀 🙂
P.S. Have I spelt the Word Weigh right?

12th January 2020 at 8:39 pm #59314Still no Laporte and no Sane and with Sterling and Bernardo Silva on the bench. City won’t win the PL but if City get Laporte and Sane back and stay reasonably injury from here nobody will want to draw them in the CL.

12th January 2020 at 9:15 pm #59336999 was just thinking what an awesome Champions League final it would be if somehow Liverpool and City both found their way through to the big one.

Also, ya I’d love to play City again in the CL but I’d prefer a semi-final TBH. Final against a continental side would be more my thing.

13th January 2020 at 7:44 am #59647Didn’t watch much VARball this weekend, accidentally turned on the Canaries game, watched about 10 minutes and then turned it over to watch Masterchef.
Saw the Spud result (didn’t bother with the match reoprts, obviously, so I won’t comment on the game!), can only conclude LiberoOol’s are rubbish as they only beat us by one, happy we don’t have to play those Malmoian’s again this season, ecstatic that hopefully that’s the last we see of Wee Erik… thanks and all that, now pack your bags and bugger off!!!

13th January 2020 at 8:34 am #59681other notes, liverpool are a damn machine, almost getting boring now this year with no real challenger and no points being dropped (other than by my team!)
our match, it was a red, not mailcious but was nasty so it had to be done. W really should have won that at a canter, so much possesion but didnt really do enough and still look like we are not quite clicking, or at least only for a few mins here and there, few injuries in the game didnt help but well done Palce and Woy..last but not least, Aguero, taken over form Henry and rightly so, fantastic player and one that will be well missed…if he ever stops!
